I love Samuel L. Jackson.  Everyone should and there’s no doubt about that.  I like to pick on him because of some of the scripts he chooses (Snakes On A Plane anyone?).  But he’s also been in such classics as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 2.  He was the best part of The Spirit and even made Lakeview Terrace into a compelling film.  He is a modern cinematic juggernaut and has one of the most noticeable acting styles and method of delivery.  Now you can see one of his best, yet oddly underrated, performances in a brand new format.

Starting this May 19th, now available on Blu-ray Disc from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes the high-definition story of high tensions and the lines between right and wrong that are broken in a moment of conflict and remain painfully broken.  Changing Lanes – Blu-ray Disc is ready to swerve right into your living room and show you a fantastically written and acted morality tale that will stay with you for a long time.  Bring home this great movie today!

Gavin Banek is an important New York attorney in a rush to an important court meeting.  Doyle Gipson is an insurance agent on the way to court to prevent his wife from leaving with his kids.  They run into each other on the freeway, damaging their cars.  In a hurry, Banek tries to buy Gipson off with a blank check.  Gipson refuses and says that they must file a proper report.  Banek leaves, leaving Gipson with no way to get to his court date.  But Banek left some papers at the scene of the accident which Gipson now refuses to give back.  This creates a chain of vengeful acts and overt escalation until both men stand on the brink of something they can’t back down from.  This movie stars Ben Affleck, Samuel L. Jackson, Toni Collette, Sydney Pollack, William Hurt and Amanda Peet and was directed by Roger Michell.

The special features included in this Blu-ray Disc are an optional audio commentary by director Roger Michell, a featurette about the making of this film, a look into the film by the writer, two deleted scenes, one extended scene and the original theatrical trailer.

This is a wonderfully written movie that speaks greatly about the human propensity towards evil and how small slights can get bigger and bigger through our need to prove ourselves and fight back.  It’s actually quite frightening, because a situation like this is completely plausible.  Samuel L. Jackson is fantastic in this movie and Ben Affleck even does a great job.  It’s a great story about the downward spiral that is tempting us all of the time.  It was good when I saw it in theaters, but it is even more fantastic in high definition.  You should get this movie and enjoy it like you’ve never seen it before.

Change your mind and go get this movie right away!
