BNN has been reporting on missing children and murdered children for almost a year now since little Caylee Anthony disappeared only to be found later murdered and now Haleigh Cummings missing since February and still not found. This is a hard topic to swallow because it involves the innocent children of the world that turn to us as adults to guide them into adulthood.
We hear more and more these days about innocent children having their lives ripped away from them by the hands of those very adults that they look up to and depend on. They trust the ones that take their lives from them.
This morning I pulled up Google News and I was saddened by what I read. The bodies of a 45 year old man, James Gumm, along with his 7 year old son, Tyler and his 6 year old daughter, Kylie were found by a hiker on an Oregon hiking trail in the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Nature Preserve Friday. It is believed that the father apparently shot the two kids and then pointed the gun at himself killing all three of them.
It has been confirmed by the county medical examiner that each one of them were shot by a 9mm gun which happens to be the same kind of gun found at the scene. NBC News affiliate KGW talked to a police spokeswoman and she said they had talked to family members and they believe that the father was having problems accepting his divorce emotionally. They said he didn’t have any criminal record but the man was unemployed.
According to Lt. Michael Rouches from the Hillsboro Police Department Gumm apparently couldn’t handle the fact that his family was falling apart.
Now just in the Portland Oregon area alone this is the second time a parent is being accused of killing their own child. Amanda Stott-Smith has been charged with aggravated murder after the supposedly threw her two children, a 4 year old son and a 7 year old daughter, off the Sellwood Bridge sending them on a 75 foot fall and they were in the cold water from the river for more than 30 minutes. By some miracle the daughter survived but the little boy died.
The court records show that there was a custody battle over the children after the father left their Tualatin home last year and moved to Eugene Oregon which ended with the courts giving the father, Jason Smith custody of the children.
What is wrong with these people? Don’t they realize how precious these children are? They are the future of this earth and they are being knocked off as those they are extra baggage. These kids didn’t ask to come into this world but since they have been don’t they deserve to live their life the same as us adults have?
This is only two cases mentioned here. This is happening worldwide. What is it going to take to stop this? I would love for someone to answer this. The children of the world need to be protected not eliminated in this way. They deserve to live their lives in full. It is not up to someone on this earth to decide it is their time to go.
I pray for all the children in the world. If I could name them all off one by one I would but there are too many and it wouldn’t be fair to name some and not all but I do pray that they all be protected. If a child can’t trust their own parent to protect them, who can they trust? God this is so sad.

Jackson Bottom Wetlands is a place that kids go for field trips and families for hikes,its a sad thing that them kids had to die that way there. We all mourned them though we don’t know them!! The woman who threw them kids off that bridge that little girl is believed to of been holding her little brother the ppl who live on the Willamette river said that they could hear them babies screaming and crying, that river is HUGE just HUGE here is a link of the bridge and the river. Its horrible i hope they punish her with the full extent of the law. That is 45 miles from my home.

Bunny the girl held onto the boy…he passed away and the girl was in critical condition. Its very sad I was up for days just in tears and sadness for them children that woman is deranged. She has NO soul they heard them kids screaming. I couldn’t shake that thought for days and days.
Just another rambling from this end of the world but, it saddens my heart to the point of breaking to hear of something like this. My oldest child was born when I was only seventeen, now, I was married at the time though. The husband was scheduled to go into the military so we married before he left. I went on to finish high school, caring for a baby boy while my friend were party bound. I worked, went to school, took care of the home as well as every need of my baby. Never one moment was there a thought of him being in my way, or preventing me from the party scene. He was my life, my reason to wake in the morning was to see his little smiling face. When his dad decided he did not want to be a daddy but a party animal, I was the one who kept right on without missing a lick. Raised that boy on my own until I remarried a few years later. Still not ever a thought of not having him with me, never wanting him out of my sight so I can not for the life of me phathom the idea of what has happened to our society. Children are all gifts of God, never has there been a child who was a mistake, only the most precious of gifts to make our lives complete. This has to go beyond mental illness, even the most deranged of folks still have a strong love for their children. If you visit a prison full of hardened criminals, they still very much love their children and some of them are in jail for defending one of their own. How on earth can a person live with taking the life of a child? There is no reason good enough for it, no excuse for anyone who does it either. The harshest of punishment should be reserved for those who either harm a child or take the life of one. When I look at my grandchildren, whom I totally worship and adore, I have stated that I would personally take anyone out of this world who would do harm to one of them. I am not an Anthony and I thank God for that, but, there is no defense for anyone who does this and I do not care who it is. We just need to pray for all the babies in this world, it seems out of our control at this time. God just please look after them!!!
Your so right…We only here some of what goes on. These poor babies. Why do they have to be in the middle! Why are their lives cut short because mommy and daddy made bad decisions. We need a prison for people who hurt kids…I dont believe in “waiting for god to punish them”. We need to punish them ourselves.
I can’t help but wonder if drugs aren’t somehow involved in most of these child killings. All of them, Caylee, Haleigh, Sandra …in some way.
It seems when drugs came to our country, the madness escalated.

HATELIARS is correct. Everyone is for seIf-satisfaction. If we want any kind of peace in this world, any kind of goodness and gentleness—especially towards children, then it has to begin with the change in ourselves. Just this morning I was thinking about the scriptures, about how we must be transformed/changed by the renewing of our mind (Roman 12:2). But that change doesnt happen until our hearts are changed first. We are incapable of changing our hearts. But that does not mean it is not possible to have a changed heart. Many dont understand that ONLY God can change hearts. But people dont pray for God to change their hearts. So this evil resonates inside us occupying our minds until it manifests itself. People also dont want to take responsibility for their mistakes. We all have evil in us—next to Jesus we are filthy rags—ALL OF US. Even the people who think and say “But I am a nice person I dont kill or steal or rape”. Yes even those of us who lay claim to that are filthy rags. When more and more people seek God then, and only then, will we begin to see a change in people. Change of heart brings about change of mind. Change of thinking is followed by change of behavior. But people have to wanna change. God will not force you. Satan makes his attacks in your mind. He is clever. Making you think things that are not true. Who knows what these parents were thinking before they committed these evil acts. Dont get me wrong, I do not condone this evil in anyway…but I do know that spiritual forces are at work wether you choose to believe it or not. We are incapable of fighting off these evil forces ourselves. We need God’s weapons, and we need to learn how to use them. I hate that these children are suffering in the hands of the very people that are suppose to care for them and protect them. I wish I was big like God and could take every child who suffers and build a nice home for them and care for them—but I am not. We can only pray for them but we must also pray for the ones that are the terrors of their little lives. Pray that God changes their hearts as well as your own heart. Pray for Jesus to take over and lift the very burdens of life. He knows how. He can see the spiritual forces at work and He offers to take over for you. Its either that, or prepare to face God’s wrath—even the ones who lay claim to the good ol’e saying “but I am nice person, I dont kill, or steal or rape children or adults”—yes even those who think that will face God’s wrath. Here is how the order of things need to be…God 1st, people 2nd and self last. If the world wants to see all the evil in the world come to and end, thats the order people need to live in. But it wont happen because people are putting themselves 1st. And some are teaching their kids that too. Indeed its a sad and scary world we live in, but eventually it will come to and end. ON that day it will be glorious for some and horrific for others.

Did you hear about the 3 year old little boy who was suffocated by his mother then buried at a park in Albuquerque NM??? So sad.. Makes me sick, I only live 2 hours from there. I cannot fathom how someone could hurt any child, much less thier own!!!
That boys mother suffocated him till he died then revived him and suffocated him again killing him for the final time. She went to her local police dept for help before she murdered him and they turned her away.
I am so saddened by these tribulations against children. They’re innocent and vulnerable. They’ re being hurt by those who should protect them. Some adults don’t know how to deal with their frustrations thus, they take it out on the most vulnerable members of our society ‘children’. This much I know.
The injustices against children are a gross abomination against humanity. We must find a way to protect the little ones or we will suffer a major spiritual bankruptcy.
Hopefully, as humans become enlightened, they will be able to use their inner strength to enable them to deal more effectively with their frustrations. For the sake of the children, let us pray for a miracle because we need it. Meanwhile, we should not give up on human’s compassion. There are some good humans on this planet and they would never hurt a child.
