Mark Twain, actual name of Samuel Clemens, is one of the finest American writers of all time.  He is, even now, one of our foremost humorists and commentators on our social situations.  He set the standard for being clever and he’s an American.  That’s what gets you longevity in the world of writing.  Now you can see exactly what I’m talking about with a whole new collection of fantastic classic animations from the history of Walt Disney.

Starting this May 12th, now available on DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment comes a collection of classic animations from the history of Walt Disney Studios available for your home theater for the first time ever.  The Prince And The Pauper – Walt Disney Animation Collection Classic Short Films is ready to climb right out of your television screen and bring a world of fascination and old-timey animation into your living room.  Bring home this wonderful look back at the history of animation today!

This DVD contains five short films – “The Prince And The Pauper,” “The Pied Piper,” “Old King Cole,” “A Knight For A Day” and “Ye Olden Days.”  Just to touch on some of the stories in this disc, “The Prince And The Pauper” is the story of a prince and pauper who look just alike and so switch places, to their own great chagrin.  “The Pied Piper” is the story of the piper who ends up stealing all the children from the town.  “Old King Cole” is the story of a merry old soul, yes, a merry old soul was he.  Hijinks ensue.  You’ll love it.

The special features included in this DVD of classic animations are Dolby Digital Surround Sound, the Disney FastPlay option, English, French and Spanish subtitles and a collectible litho print from one of the short films on this DVD.

Everyone should watch this, if only for the fact that there is a story based off of a novel by one of the true masters of the English language, Mark Twain.  Everyone needs some Twain in their lives and that is an indisputable fact.  The animation of the story of the prince and his doppleganger is by far the cleanest and probably the most familiar that you will see in this.  Yet the story about Old King Cole is one of the most memorable as far as the animation goes.  It’s campy, it’s old and it’s something that makes that little impression you can’t quite shrug off.  Bring it home today and you will see exactly what I’m talking about.

Bring home this Classic today!
