I will buy this book. My best friend has Aspergers Syndrome. He is brilliant, a savant I think, but this malady shows up in social areas. It will probably keep him single all his life. He is in his mid 50's now.

Things that are SO obvious to me, he doesn't see - let alone "get". He misses many subtle things, cues, signals.

He has a Master's Degree +. The whole thing is a real mystery to me, but he is a great guy and I understand he cannot help acting "different" in those situations. They are not too often.

I put up with his shortcomings, and he puts up with mine. LOL. I moved away from that area, but we email all the time and talk about twice a week on the phone. I miss him and I know, he misses me. We have a great friendship that even 3000 miles can't ruin.

I have another friend back there who has a son who seems to me, to have the mind of a 3 year old. He is 9. This is ONE HEARTBREAKING situation for the entire family. The mother got so ill, she almost died.
She got to a Psychiatrist, who helped her, and is doing much better. There is some guilt there, she took medicine for Panic disorder, and felt guilty that she didn't CURE it, herself. She didn't know she was pregnant. No one knows if that caused his Autism. Nobody knows what is causing it. Are the multiple shots children get now - causing it?
