Oh joy! Lori Drew is back in the news. Hearing her name tends to make my blood boil. However, it gives me something to blog about and express my feelings about her. This time, there is a delay in her case as the defense filed to dismiss the case. Excuse me? Did they say dismiss? Dismiss and Lori Drew should not even be mentioned in the same sentence if you ask me. She was convicted back in November of accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information to inflict emotional distress. The jury could not decide on the charge of criminal conspiracy. Really, should this woman skate by? Word on the street is that the Judge is questioning whether or not prosecutors should have brought charges against her. This is too much to digest right now.

Folks, despite what was on the books at the time when Megan died and Drew invented Josh Evans on My Space, this woman needs to be sentenced and spend time in jail. If Drew was so worried about what Megan was saying about her own child, why didn’t she approach Megan’s parents and try and find a way to resolve this? From what I understood, the two families were friends and their daughters were also friends. I am sure Drew knew Megan was clinically depressed and on medication. Clinically depressed people are fragile and this is the worst way anyone can handle them. There are much better ways to deal with this than going to My Space and setting up a bogus account as a teenage boy. I hold this woman 100% accountable for what happened to Megan. Megan was a 13 year old girl as was Drew’s daughter. Lori Drew was the adult and should be held accountable and definately should have known better.

This is one of the biggest problems we have in our society today. We tend to allow bad behavior to be swept under the rug. These bullies get off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist while their victims suffer lifelong trauma. They do not “learn lessons from their actions” but continue to harm others. I read and see it all the time. Where is the justice for Megan in this? If Drew walks in this, I do not believe any justice will be served. The Meier family will never have Megan again and will suffer life long affects of this. The thought of even dismissing this case sickens me. Who is to say Drew will not pull this again on another child who she believes is harming her daughter? Bullies do not learn lessons like normal people. They lack a conscience and believe rules and consequences do not apply to them. By not holding this woman accountable will only reinforce this. A normal, balanced and adjusted adult does not go after a child on the internet like this. However, a bully would.

I suggest to anyone out there to write a letter to this Judge and let him know how you feel. This case should not be dismissed and Drew needs to own this. At the end of the day, do we really need to be feeding another bully?
