He was a Psychiatrist also. We had long nice talks, because I didn't understand anything about his being "gay", or anyone being gay. He asked me "How old where you when you first started liking boys?" I said "About 13 I think." He then asked me "Did you make a conscious decision about it?"I laughed and said ... "No, no, it just happened." He said "That's the same way it is with us." When I learned that I find it incredibly sad that gays are beaten up, even killed, because they are gay. I am not sure if they have different X and Y chromosomes... and that would come from birth. I had a gay friend years ago. He was a Psychiatrist also.
