What I do mind is that there are not extremely harsher sentences for crimes against children. Of all people, aren't they the ones who need and deserve EXTRA protection? But pedophiles, abusers of children, etc. get a few years, possibly some psychiatric therapy and get out - where's the deterrant? And they often commit the same crime again. Of ALL criminals these are the ones who should be locked up FOREVER! To protect other children (and because they deserve it for such heinous acts). I wish Congress would enact THIS kind of law - or at least do something to indicate they give a darn about defenseless children. Tons of it woman, children,veterans,ect I think that they should be protected. Just cus there homeless dont mean there less then us. They need us to care and defend them. In comparison a little empathy toward groups that are the target of such prejudice and hatred and stronger sentences for those who commit those crimes seems to be an effort at deterring ignorance and prejudice.
