I have seen The Wrath Of Khan about ten times in my life thus far.  It was, before seeing the remake that just came out, my favorite Star Trek movie by a long shot.  I loved Ricardo Montalban and thought his character, his genetic superman, was simply fantastic.  Although I saw it years before the movie, the episode from the original series that dealt with the S.S. Botany Bay was one of my favorites as well.  Now there’s a chance for you to catch it and it’s two great sequels in a brand new format and it’s a chance you should not turn down.

Starting this May 12th, now available as a three disc collectors boxed set on Blu-ray Disc from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes the definitive edition of the three greatest movies of all time to come from the mind of Gene Roddenberry.  Star Trek – Motion Picture Trilogy – Blu-ray Disc is ready to come out of your television screen at warp speed and beam you up to a fantastic future where wonder and friendship are all around you.  Bring home this absolute must-have today!

This boxed set is made up of three different classic Star Trek movies.  The first is The Wrath Of Khan.  In this movie, Khan is back.  After the Reliant mistakenly lands on Ceti Alpha V, Khan and his fellow superhumans now have a space ship and they set off to get the Genesis Device, a terraforming device which would destroy a whole planet.  Now it’s up to Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew to stop him.  The second is The Search For Spock.  In this movie, Spock passed his katra, his Vulcan soul, to McCoy before he died.  Yet his body landed on the Genesis Planet and was reborn.  Now the race is on to outrun a hostile Klingon commander and to find Spock and reunite him with his katra.  The third is The Voyage Home.  In this movie, an alien probe is threatening to destroy Earth because there are no whales left to respond to it and tell it everything is okay.  The crew of the USS Enterprise must travel back in time to the 1980s, not break the time/space continuum and bring back two whales in time to save their planet.  This boxed set stars all of the original cast with some great new villains and supporting characters.

How does one even explain all of the special features included in this three Blu-ray Disc collectors edition?  In earlier releases of these three great movies, there were over six hours of interviews, commentaries and other great special features.  They are included in the special features, along with over 90 minutes of all new special features.  Throw in the interactive library computer function which allows you to look up information on just about anything in the movies and the Star Trek IQ game which allows you to make custom trivia challenges and you have special features that nearly outshine these great movies in their transition to high definition.

What a fantastic collection of three great movies.  I am so very, very glad that they left out the first one.  If ever you had to choose three movies which would describe what Star Trek is really all about, it would have to be these three movies.  The second movie was phenomenal and the best until just last week.  The third one built upon the now highly emotional bonds we discovered between the characters and the fourth one displayed high amount of social awareness, as well as bringing us back to the heart of the fun and adventure that the original series was all about.  As a fan of science, science fiction or even just movies in general, owning these three movies is one of the most important decisions you have got to make.  All of the special features are magnificent and I was completely blown away by seeing all of it in high definition.  You will be too and I guarantee that.

Be a Star and own three of the best science fiction movies ever made.
