Yes if the child is taken out of the home she can go to family but it is whatever family that the current parent/caregiver states is appropriate (at least in PA that’s how it works). I can’t tell you how many times I get a call that a mom is being arrested for drugs and there is no where for the child(ren) to go but when I show up “all of a sudden” mom states that her cousin can take them. Then I will get a call the following day from the father of the child(ren) screaming at me because he does not have his children. If she had custody I can look into the people who she states is ok!!

Also, in this case I believe that the child would need to be in care. Especially since it is getting to heated and there are allegations that the paternal grandparents are doing things as well. And, IF this is a hoax (crossing my fingers it’s not) then being with the maternal side of the family could also be a bad idea.

I really hope that there is medical evidence and therapist evidence out there that provides some “proof” that this is or is not occuring. My confusion though is wondering, does CA not have what we call “mandated reporters”? Which is anyone in the professional field (ie:teachers, doctors, police officers, day care staff, nurses, etc) that is MANDATED to report abuse/neglect even if they so much as have an INKLING that something is happening. If CA does have something similar then the doctor that found the medical evidence AND the therapist is MANDATED BY LAW to report that to CPS. I’m not sure if CA has that or if they do what kind of regs they have as compared to here in PA but it just doesn’t make sense to me!

I have a question regarding the 11 CPS investigations.

Is it that there have been 11 CPS investigations or 11 reports to CPS with them not ever doing a thorough investigation?

Many innocent people lose their children based on false claims. What if the child is not being abused? The mother does not have custody so the child will be in a foster home, per the state. Unless the grandparents can take the child. Ive read 11 investigations by CPS. If there is so much evidence….I think it speaks for itself. I feel really bad for this little girl. She’s either abused or a pawn.

You are right on key. People hear child abuse, child sexual abuse and they go in guns blazing. We need all the evidence as you said, not website links form “personal observations.”

Anna you asked where I am, I am here. I am still very active in getting this investigated and making sure Aaliyah is safe. With the exception of Sunday, not a day has gone by that I haven’t made phone calls, many many calls. I am traveling a road less traveled but, that has a chance of getting, the required results none the less. Please trust me when I say, I do care and am willing to and am doing all that I can to help. I just don’t see how keeping turmoil going is positive. The only thing that accomplishes is being detrimental to Jan, Simon, and Bnn as a whole. That has never been my goal.

I stopped posting because every time I say ANY-thing at all, my words are disected & twisted. Used to give the opposing side something else to complain about. I don’t believe this is helpful to Aaliyah. My purpose here is to help NOT hurt anyone in anyway.

The fall out with this case has been painful. For me personally, and others. One day I am happily interacting with long time regular bloggers on Bnn and the next day I am a scammer, con artist and as bad as Cindy Anthony. Who has spent the past 6 months planning this whole fiasco under another name. I am a spy, a bi-ch and well the list goes on. Am I guilty of even one of those accusations? NO!

I issued a challenge back on 5-2-09 on thread # 120708 at 8:53 p.m. for ANYONE to show me ONE post where I was rude, disrespectful, trying to force others to believe this story or ask anybody for a penny. Today is 5-12-09 and NO ONE has been able to come up with even ONE post. AFTER & only after, I had been repeatedly attacked and accused of everything imaginable did I come back with a nasty reply.
First Karen was attacked, then me, next was mb, who from all I know was a long standing member of the regulars.

Now it is happening to Jan. The same people who now, question her posts and motives. Also accuse her of being unfair, of making a change, of attacking others, of not allowing THEM to have an opinion, deleting posts and banning folks. These the people who “loved” her and thought she could almost walk on water, just a few short days ago. What is her crime? It has been said, many times, its all because THEY don’t agree with her.

The only thing I can see is she is taking this case seriously. She is refusing to drop it. She is following her heart and life experience
to expose the wrong doer, no matter which parent it is. I have not seen ONE post in which she has attempted to sway anyone in any way. I HAVE seen posts asking all to respect others who DO think this case is valid.

The group of long time regulars on Bnn are fantastic at digging and finding the truth. I would ask each of them, go back and read the posts from the beginning concerning this case. The truth is there, easily found with little effort, one just has to be willing to see it.
It seems to me, hurting Jan’s feelings is just plain wrong. She and Simon have been there for all of them, they have provided the place that all these caring people could go and talk freely about Caylee.

Anyone hearing the broadcast last Saturday knows, Jan has had to deal with more pain then she ever should have. Those responsible were uncaring and outright ignorant. People who didn’t know or believe her. Why for God’s sake would the people who profess to care about her and trust her, question and attack her now? Is the anger about this case so strong? Does it blind those who WERE her friends? The fact that this is causing her REAL pain should dawn on someone. The way I see it and we all know what my opinion is worth to many. But we are guests in Simon and Jan’s house. Some with malice, have voiced opposition about investigating this case. Why? As a guest in someone’s home, there is a protocol to follow. It is called respect, I have seen very little of that in this case. I am not saying people should not have their own opinions. I am just saying a little common courtesy would go a long way toward everyone getting along.

Anna and m2c…..YOU, my friends… are my new “idols” for today. Perserverance is what you have shown us today! You have shown what “taking action” is all about. Let you be an example to ALL of us!

We believe in what we are doing and we will continue even though some seem to think we will be forced by them to drop it. The ONLY way would be for the mother and her family to ask us and that is it.

There is clearly something happening to this child, and she needs it to be stopped. No child should live in fear, no child should have to endure suffering at the hands of an adult.

She is so young, and her days should be filled with wonder, and discovery and joy. Courts need to be reminded that this is a child’s life at stake, and CPS needs to take a closer look into these allegations. At the very least this child should be put in foster care, while the case is investigated, and the world watches. There may have been undue influences placed on the court by the father’s family- I don’t know because such things are difficult to prove.

But the cat is out of the bag now, and this case truly warrants a closer look, hopefully by those outside this potentially corrupt county system.

It is difficult, because definitive proof is not available. We have to go on what we feel, and what we believe. I feel this child needs to be helped, and protected from whatever is causing her emotional issues and potentially physical harm.
Based on the statements of the Bedwell family, this child is indeed suffering greatly.

I just want to say thank you for continuing to delve into this story. I have been following the progress and reading the articles and the many comments.

I am completely shocked and dismayed at some of the attacks you have endured. You are following your hearts and I commend you for it.

I am a doubter by nature and remain skeptical about this case, but I see the hours you are putting into it, I see the progress you have made, and I recognize that you have more information and a clearer view of the overall picture than I do, so I accept your statements that there is more than meets the eye and the possibilty this child is being abused is very real.

I continue to look forward to seeing more stories about this case and again thank you for doing everything you can to help this young child.

As for what to do I’d like to see if Jan and Simon confirm that agency’s oversight of County CPS and if necessary then we can email complaints and requests for inquiry.
Perhaps there are other places that we can do the same. I’ll check and see. Perhaps Jan and Simon have suggestions of places that need some emailed complaints to “goose” them in the right direction. Or perhaps others who have already done a lot of research on this could advise us. Right now I’m going to wait for a bit and see what the next best step is.

I believe that there is a lawyer for the child but I’m not sure. Aaliyah should have one who has only her best interests in mind. That’s as it should be.

Yes Connie needs a lawyer - an independent one of course. Not a public defender since they fear that that person won’t give her fair or competent or unbiased representation. I do not know why she does not have one yet. Surely after all this hullabaloo over the past ten days (and more) that someone has volunteered.

I’ll tell you something my husband always tells me. If I want different results then I can’t keep doing something the same way!

I watch Dominick Dunn a lot on tv and the more I hear about that county the more it reminds of some of the episodes I’ve seen where he has exposed small town corruption or prominent family crimes on the cases he’s investigated.

I had the police called on me time because my 17 year old, then 2, was having a temper tantrum. She was destroying her room, the next door neighbor thought I was beating her to death. The police came and after they talked to her and me they told me that she needed a heavy hand. I said, “Oh, ok, so then if I did spank her you could take her away from me? No thanks, I’ll just let her have her tantrums.” I thanked my neighbor though, I told her that if I was beating her, she would have gotten the help she needed.

Butters, for some reason they are keeping the Drs and psychologits reports from being on the internet. I’m assuming that maybe someone told her not to until she gets some legal advice. She’s also afraid for her daughters life, so I guess if some things get out, it could be detrimental to Aaliyah. As I said, I am only guessing.

Pauses in a child’s speech while they are supposed to be going to sleep or trying to drift off to sleep, to me, is not uncommon. When I have my grand daughter and put her down for a nap or to go to bed for the night, she often chats for a while. I’ll think she’s has gone to sleep and the next thing I know she’s asking me questions again or wanting to talk about something. However, it’s usually very different from the last thing she mentioned as her mind is drifting around to a variety of subjects. In this video, the child does not seem to be jumping from topic to topic even after the pauses.

As far as I know, this is the only video that has been posted for general view. From what I read somewhere, there are a number of videos of Aaliyah that were taken over time until the mother was instructed to stop with the videos. I believe that the videos are during the parent exchange of the child during visitation switching from one to the other and possibly other incidents of Aaliyah. Someone who knows more about this could probably speak more informed on this than me.

Anyone can type out a testimony and claim it to be truth. I just have a hard problem that there is only 10 mins of a 27 video, there is so no hard copy of testimony/facts.

Now I have gone to proper channels and brought attention to Aaliyah’s case because I do know that if I am wrong and she is in danger that I did something about it.

The part of the video we see is only 10 minutes of a 27 minute tape. I didn’t really hear any pauses, but I’ve only listend to it once. I don’t want to hear it again.

And yes, all children are curious about their bodies, but I have three girls and not one of them ever tried to stick anything up their private parts.
