» Caylee, Haleigh, Aaliyah – Why Do We Care?

There are three very seperate cases that Jan, I, and Stone aka Pickles are reporting on. Caylee Anthony, Haleigh Cummings, and Aaliyah Bedwell. We have taken a good deal of flack directly and indirectly about our coverage.

We are not in it for the money, we do it because we give a damn.

The Caylee Anthony case has received huge media coverage, Jane Velez Mitchell and Nancy Grace hammer on the case every evening on their HLN shows. We continue to cover the case, not because we want to be Nancy or JVM, we cover it because there are some angles that HLN would not run on a dare. We on the other hand are prepared to name names. Interestingly enough Jan and I were talking to Leonard Padilla this afternoon about a different case, but Caylee came up in our conversation. Leonard and I do not always see eye to eye. And I doubt that we will ever be great friends, but I do have a great amount of respect for the man. The names that I mentioned to him enlisted a pregnant pause in the conversation. He went on to explain that he had heard the names, but knew little about them.

I have never known Leonard to be anything but forthright, so make what you will out of this.

The Haleigh Cummings case has us tied up in knots. No-one seems to have any answers, it is just a mystery, little girl sleeping one minute, and then the next minute she is gone. We have been hammering on this case since it broke. We are not talking heads, we may not be on the ground, but we have some great contacts. There are two in particular, TJ Hart of Sky 97.3, and Cobra Staubs, Cobra is a PI and bail bondsman. We were talking to him yesterday, (and a nicer guy you could not find), he is something like $40,000 in the hole over this case.

The third case is one that the press has avoided like the plague. Aaliyah Bedwell is a three year old girl, and there are some real pointers to her having been sexually abused. The accused is her father, I will opt not to name him at this stage. But I know that there is validity in the statement ‘No smoke without fire’. He is on my ‘To Do’ list in the next few days. You know who you are, so expect a call soon!

I also want to invite you to participate in a couple of radio shows. Tomorrow at 3PM central (1pm Pacific, 4pm Eastern) we are going to be exploring how Law Enforcement works in small communities and whether they succumb to pressure from well known local families. We are going to be looking at three cases that are not getting any attention, two are old, one is new. A rape and a murder that happened almost 30 years ago. And the very sad ongoing story of Aaliyah Bedwell. Because of some ridiculous Gag orders it is not clear who will be representing the Bedwell family on the show. We are waiting for comformation. hope that someone will be there. This is a case that we do not want any of the people involved to become additional victims of the judicial system.

On Sunday at 3pm central we will be running our regular show about Caylee Anthony and Haleigh Cummings. Cobra Staubs will be on the panel, and that means it will be a don’t miss show. I spent some time with Cobra on the phone today. Haleigh is in good hands with Cobra. If there is one man that can get to the truth it is this man.

So, why do Jan and I do this? If the article above does not explain our reasons, I do not know what to say! Jan and I care, Jan and I spend countless hours on these cases. The team working these cases are only looking for the truth. Stone aka Pickles and Jan have done an outstanding job on covering these stories.
