Immokalee, Florida- Its been so long for Adji he has been missing for what seems an eternity. He disappeared from his grandmothers front yard on January 10, 2009 at around 5:15pm. He went outside to play with some friends and vanished just fifteen minutes or so later. Never to be seen again. Poor Adji his nickname is Ji Ji . Just adorable.
I don’t know anything about Adji only that he is so precious and adorable to of vanished into thin air. I haven’t heard anything regarding him on the tv or internet. Its very sad to me he is now in the ranks with the others of America’s forgotten lost children. Adji is a special needs child, he is six years old but has the mental capacity of a two year old. He doesn’t talk so well either he has a communication disorder.
Poor Adji so young and vulnerable out there somewhere alone most likely scared. I hope he is alive, somewhere his family is so distraught and grieved with pain. You can see it on their faces. His grandmother’s face brings tears to my eyes each time I see her picture. They don’t come from grand means or high living, they toil day in and day out to survive in this world. Adji’s disappearance only hurts them worse. Their pain is evident their sadness is deep within. It is deep within me also. I don’t report on Adji as much simply because there is nothing on him new or old.
There was a report of a psychic lending a hand to find him. I don’t know what ever came of that search I know Adji is still missing. His family says that they are doing so so in their day to day lives and they don’t sleep well. Media attention dropped Adji like a bad habit not to long after he disappeared. I don’t think its fair to be honest. Caylee got more attention in the time she was missing then found dead than any child I have ever seen in my life. Adji is still out there missing yet he gets no media coverage. To me thats a huge lack in judgment to this day Caylee still gets more coverage then any missing kid. Even in death she is talked about and reported on more then Adji or Haleigh or any other child missing.
Its ridiculous to me that this is going on in our media. Adji is still missing he could very well be alive somewhere. Yet no one wants to give him the time of day or the attention that may bring him home. I would like to know why he doesn’t receive the attention that Caylee did or does. I would like to know why. Is it because his family isn’t from grand means in life. Is it because he isn’t white? I know thats a heavy question but its valid. Why isn’t Adji covered like Caylee or Haleigh in the beginning of her disappearance? I intend to dig up that dirt, find out why Adji was left out to dry by the media. Forgotten and abandoned. Its not right at all not by a long shot.
Adji Desir is a six year old African American, he has black hair and brown eyes. He weighs forty five pounds and is three feet tall. He is mentally handicapped, he has the mind of a two year old and has a communication disorder. He was last seen wearing a blue and yellow shirt with blue and yellow shorts. He was wearing black and gray sneakers. Stone, I too wonder what has become of Adji. But I must point out that I believe he is of Haitian descent, not African. Which is another reason why it’s so scary to think of him out there, only understanding Haitian, not speaking that or English. Truly a sad case that has fallen by the wayside.

It breaks my heart that this poor child has no one to stand up for him…or so it seems. Who is out there looking for him? Is it just because he’s poor, or black, or handicapped? All I can do is pray for him. Very disheartening.
I don’t think his race has any reflection on why the media dropped him. I think it’s because there have been no “scandolous” family details as in the cases of Caylee, Haleigh,
Sandra. As much as it is the media’s fault it is our own, because we (the public)want “details” - I can say this because I freely admit that I am as guilty as anyone else I am sure.
For all my “nosy” faults, I do pray for this child and his family and hope others will as well.

Adji so many have forgotten this little one and it is not right. I keep him in my prayers but I’m afraid that is not going to bring him home. God helps those who help themselves. This child and his family need help. If just a portion of the efforts spent on the pretty little girls that are missing, were used to search for this baby, he might already be safely back in his momma’s arms.

Why is there so little actual information in this article? Also — I am all for being positive, but a lot of the comments here seem so naiive. Look at the statistics. The overwhelming overwhelming overwhelming majority of children who disappear with people who are not their family members (i.e., a mother or father who does not have custody of them, which is an entirely different story) are dead within 24 hours. The remaining number are dead within 48 hours. It is just a fact. Another thing … why do people just focus on the same topics: why caylee is reported on so much more than other missing kids, why black kids get less attention than white kids — without bringing anything new to the table? I mean, I guess this is a blog as opposed to an article, so who knows, maybe that is the point — but I still kind of felt like I didn’t learn anything new or especially thought provoking in reading this. I felt like it was rehash of all the other Adji articles I have read. If we want this story to get more attention, frankly, you have to get more information and details to make it more interesting to people to read. Why do you think the Caylee story IS so huge? B/c of all of the neverending information that is provided to the public. It’s like having a 24 hour camera into their family. The more information, the better. The less information, the more disconnected the public will feel from the case.
The problem with trying to find something to arouse the public and media interest for Adji is this: the family is a hardworking, decent family. They mind their business and work hard. That’s it. There’s nothing to make a soap opera out of therefore it won’t sustain interest. Isn’t that a sad and pathetic statement! We are (in general) already disconnected from a case like this because we’ve become accustomed to being titillated with sensationalism.

Over two million kids (of every different race and creed) go missing each year, and contrary to the offhand insinuations of this blog, virtually none of them (black, white, asian, hispanic, or otherwise) receive the overwhelming mainstream media attention of Caylee Anthony. To suggest that the world stops for every missing white kid, but goes about its business for a missing black kid is just absurd: the sad fact is, most missing kids don’t get mainstream media attention at all, and this just seems like a ploy to leverage white guilt in *generating* some for an admittedly worthwhile cause.
As proven by the Rev. Al Sharpton time and again, the efficacy of stirring up racial disharmony to promote a cause is palpable (hey, we’re talking about it right now!), but it is a pretty cynical tactic in our erstwhile post-racial society.
Ask yourself: What Would Obama Do?
Adji Desir deserves the same media coverage and every other missing child in America. Why Nancy Grace continues repeat Caylee Anthony EVERY SINGLE NIGHT is something that I can’t figure out. Have they all gotten lazy in their jobs and are taking the easy way out by doing a little reporting each night? What about all of the other missing children? What about Stacy Peterson? Why is it all about Caylee? Adji Desir needs to be found, as do many many other children in our country.

The Psychic that went to look for Adji did not find him unfortunately, however, she was abe to gather some very important info that LE had not yet been aware of.
1. Adji was being sexually abused by teenaged boys within the village. Witness told Gale & team members that Adji was being made to pull down his pans while these other boys “did things to him”. Adji started wetting his pants and peeing on people to keep them from messing with him. These witnesses were fellow children who lived in the village and played with Adji. They were 5 and 6 yrs old. These two children also admitted that the abuse from others, including some adults, was so rampant that even they, Adji’s only friends, also physically abused him.They hit, kicked, and bit him.
2. Adji was unable to find his own way home…period. He waited outside that night until after dark for help in getting back to his house. The witness children stated that they and everyone else within the village knew Adji was unable to find his own way home. They had wanted to stay with Adji until he was rescued but were told by thier parents to come inside!
3. Adji’s Step-father was allegedly abusive physically and has not cried even once in public or searched for Adji. His Mother & Grandmother both cry often. Adji’s Grandmother stated to LE that she had checked on him minutes before he dissappeared…according to other wintesses, he had not been checked on for hours. Even though his family knew he had the mentallity of a 2 yr old he was allowed to wander freely around the village even though he would be unable to find his way home again. Someone would usually round him up near or after dark.
It is the search teams belief that Adji has been murdered and is located very near Farmworkers Village. There are some leads as to who might have killed him and possibly where his remains might be found. There are also some locals who are continuing the search weekly. People do still care about Adji. We all want justice for Adji as well…whether he is alive or not.

Yal I am terrible, my husband and I both smoke in the house. It is horrible I know. I stopped smoking years ago. I was ready and put them down and did not pick them up for 12 years. I have tired several times in the past coulple of years with no luck. I am not ready. I wish that I could get that way. To top it off I had breast cancer several years ago. Ronald Cummings begged the public for help to find his missing 5-year-old daughter Haleigh Cummings in a video released last week on his lawyer’s web site.
But today he amends that message — he wants help from everyone except Cindy and George Anthony.
“The family of Ronald Cummings, father of Haleigh Cummings, wishes to make it clear that they do not want any involvement by George and Cindy Anthony in the continuing search for Haleigh Cummings,” according to a press release issued by the Kimball & Snider Law Firm, which represents Cummings.
“The Anthony’s have their own agenda, as witnessed by their recent media tour. The facts relating to the death of Calee (sic) Anthony, which resulted in the first degree murder charges against Casey Anthony, are in no way similar to Haleigh’s disappearance,” the press release said.

More Orlando Sentinel blogs Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her bed in rural Satsuma in February. Police and volunteers scoured the area for days but turned up few clues. The girl has not been found.
Caylee Anthony, 2, was last seen in June. Her remains were found less than a mile from the Anthony family home in December. Her mother, Casey Anthony, has been charged with the toddler’s death. She is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail while she awaits trial.

Thanks Jules, I needed to hear that. When I had the surgery on my hand the md thought that it was a tumor. Thank God it was bone fragments. After I had radation I lost all of my upper teeth. Do you know how long it takes to actually read all the way to the end of that many blog comments and then to make such a lengthy statement?
I don’t want to hurt anyone feelings, but even I don’t completely read the comments…
…but to take the time to read them all and then say you don’t like them… must make you feel like you wasted your time…
I used to work at a Chuck E Cheeses fixing the games. People would tell me they lost money in a machine. I would give them a token. They would say, but I put in 3 tokens. I would say, you put in more tokens after the first one did not work?
In a similar manner, why would you read through a billion comments you don’t like after you made it through, say, 2?

SPRINGFIELD,Ohio (WDTN) - Springfield officers said they caught a mom having sex in her car while her two young children, ages three and one, were in the back seat.
Danica Wallace, 24, was in a Clark County courtroom Monday, May 18 answering to several charges including child endangering, public indecency, drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated.
According to police, Wallace told the officer she pulled over to have sex with a 29-year-old man because they couldn’t have sex at a friends home.
But outside the courtroom, Wallace said it was a misunderstanding.
“I was not having sex in the car, I promise” she said.” “I spilled beer all over my pants and when I went to change my pants, the police pulled up and said that I was engaged in sex with my kids in the back seat.”
Wallace admitted to drinking, and failed a field sobriety test. Police found open beer bottles and marijuana residue in her car. Wallace said she is getting an attorney to fight the public indecency charges.
“I’m not a bad mother, really,” said Wallace. “I do admit I was drinking with my kids in the car.”
Uh yeah, I admit to drinking with my kids in the car but I’m not a bad mother… oh and yeah, there was pot, and I was screwing some guy cause we couldn’t screw at a friends house….but I really am a good mom! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

LOL - there sure are a lot of unfit parents out there. Why do these people have kids and then do crap like this? No telling what these kids have seen, heard and been subjected to….sitting in a car with pot smoking going on - driving while intoxicated…. mades me nuts!

Oh my stars. With 2 kids in the car drugs, and beer. Yeah great mom. I don’t get it. Is it that important that she could not wait. I guess that I am just old. I just don’t get some of the things that go on. I am no angel but with the kids in the car. I hope that she was not totaly drunk while driving that car. She could of killed those kids.
Lock - she failed a field sobriety test so yes, she was legally drunk - smoking pot, had her pants off, had been driving and was drinking beer….AND of course, there was the having sex in the front seat while the babies watched! But she wants us to believe “she’s not a bad mom”! Well I’d sure hate to see the her description of a bad mom!
You know those kids have been around pot then it is in their system. When a drug test is given they give you a same margin due to the fact that if you are in the smae room and someone is smoking you get it in your blood stream. That is not ok. If a parent wants to go down that road then they don’t need to be around children.
Yeah, there’s a story that John Walsh is working on - a little boy found buried in a sand box in a neighborhood park - can’t publish a picture of his because the sand was hot and disfigured him. No one has come forward to claim him - no one has reported a missing child - no obvious reasons for his death - no idea who he is. The locals have named him “Baby Justice”. It’s just SICK! How could this child be dead and NO ONE is looking for him or know him?
Amen Lockwood - I guess this mom doesn’t think she’s a bad mom cause she didn’t roll a fat one for the kids and light it up for them! She also didn’t offer them a beer or let them drive the car so that makes her a GOOD mom! WHATEVER!

It breaks my heart to read stories like these. Kids are our greatest gift and challenge.
I can’t stand that no one is looking for this little boy- and it leads me to the ever prevelant “the parents did it” scenario. WTF is wrong with these people…if you don’t want your child, someone else does. This and the stellar example of what a bad mother is just boggle my brain.
All children should be loved and placed first. AARRGGHHHHH
You know when you have kids you have to put some stuff behind you. You can’t behave like that. It is a wonder that we don’t hear more bad stuff like this. I know that we would just die if we knew what all these children had to suffer at home with parents like this. When I was in school I was working on my RN and my social degree. I had to do a peds roation for social work. That is when I knew that I could not work with kids. I would be in jail. I am really nice and try to be nice until I have been pushed and then I loose it. It is not nice. I can loose my mind, being from the south it drives my mother nuts. The things that kids go thru not good. You know they just don’t deserve bad things to happen to them. Outrage.
I can understand what you mean Lock, it has to be incredibly hard to deal with situations like these on a daily(as in your job) basis. The reality of this world could easily destroy an average person.
I really believe that children need our help, and that so much goes on behind closed doors.
All children need love and compassion, even if it is only thru the briefest of encounters. My heart has been too shattered by my own experiences to go out there in person and make a difference.
But I do what I can from here. It is reassuring to find such kind and caring people here. I thank all of you for your kind hearts and the many smiles I have shared with you when reading your comments (certain fannery excluded of course)!

lol- Jules I can picture the cat chasing the dog, with a cat it’s all about attitude…and claws!!! My 2 huge yellow labs lived in fear of my siamese cat, all he had to do was hiss and they beat feet out the door!
Sounds like my house. Except my cat is old and he gives this little dog the devil. They are so funny. He is so old and fat. I am suprised that he still harress her.

Heck, when I walk around the office, people are always shopping online, doing stuff with their Facebook or MySpace pages, etc. I don’t feel too bad. I do get a lot of work done but I probably do blog too much at work.
Blues - the dog is now hiding under my desk at my feet looking at me with those big brown eyes - looks like she is begging me to protect her from the cat! The dog steals the cats toys and teases her. The cat has these jingly plastic balls and so the dog grabs them, jumps around in front of the cat so she sees and hears what she has then takes off running and the chase is on.
About a month ago they were playing this same little game of chase and broke a lamp! It gets dangerous around here! I thought my teenage boy was destructive! HA! He doesn’t have anything on these two! 
That is ok Jules. You get done what you need to. I know this face book thing is a big deal with a lot of people. My daughter set me one up. I have not been on there for over a week. She just can not belive that I don’t check it several times a day. I told her it is because I am at BNN. Ha Ha

Lock - yeah, not into the Facebook / MySpace thing either. The only thing that got me blogging was the Caylee case - I actually read BNN for a long time before I had the nerve to post. Felt like I already knew most everyone by the time I did start posting. I had never blogged until BNN. I’ve always been interested in detective shows, crime cases, etc. The Caylee case really blew my mind. Couldn’t get enough info on the case. That’s what brought me to BNN - always could find the latest info and the people were so darn funny! It was nice to find a chuckle and some comedy relief when reading about these horrible cases!
Me to Jules. The same thing. I have never bloged in my life until Caylee. I to read for a while until I started writing. Funny. I still can not believe the Caylee case. I sure hope and pray this gose the way we want it to. I hope that M has nightmares every night of her life for what she has done to this sweet baby.

Lock - I don’t think Maggot feels anything except pity for herself. I don’t think she is capable of feeling any compassion or guilt. It is all about her. I’ve read some stuff about Sociopaths and it is really disturbing how they think. Everything is always someone else’s fault. They are never to blame for anything and they feel NOTHING for anyone. They use people for their own gain and when that person has nothing left to offer, they are done with them. Maggot used everyone in her life including Caylee. When Caylee started stealing the spotlight from Maggot and getting too much attention, she was done with her. And when she got in the way of her partying and was getting old enough to tell Sindee and Geo things, she was a liability. I really don’t think she feels any remorse or guilt…she’s incapable of those feelings. She’s just sorry and sad that she got caught!
Hey Ksue - thought you abandoned us! Yeah, I wish Pickles would hurry up too! The suspense is a killer! I’m sure she’s got something good for us! Always does! I just wish the spelling and grammar police would lay off! Heck, my spelling, grammar and punctuation isn’t great either but you guys get what I’m saying…. I think so anyway….hope so!

Wow! I am just amazed! Here I took the time to update everyone on the “search for Adji” and within the last 30-50 posts only 3 people have even mentioned Adji, and only 1 person even remotely mentioned my post. What is going on? The info I posted was relevant info, without attacking anyone else, yet no-one is interested at all? Really? A post earlier than mine had asked if any witnesses had seen Adji, friends ect and I answered that question plus others, yet no one is talking about it at all? These accusations against Adji’s “neighbors” HAVE been released to the local LE. They contactd Gale to say that they welcomed ANY help what-so-ever and would do what they could to help her with her investigation into his disappearnace. They are following up on these leads. And YES, there are still local people looking for Adji, as well as others in cyberspace. I thought that this would be very valuable information to you guys, since the questions had been asked.
i haven’t forgotten Adji, that is why i am reading all these comments, because, i have not forgotten this little fella. May god keep him under his wing, one thing for certain, if he has left this life, he is with our wonderful savior!!!!!
