One would think that with all of the press that the Caylee Anthony case has generated people trying to make a buck or two off the coat tails of accused tot killer Casey Anthony would tread carefully. Of course that is not the case. There are numerous onerous organizations and individuals that are trying to profit from the death of this two year old. Caylee has become an industry!
A concerned reader sent me an interesting E-mail, and an even more interesting web site link. Kid Finders is an organization that gives me the creeps. The figure heads of the organization have a pretty interesting track record, that is a subject I discussed in an earlier article.
A quick look at Dennis and Sherri Milstead reveal a long and illustrious history of wrongdoing. Their rap sheet is longer than Casey Anthony’s
The latest Kid Finders Network acquisition is the Bat Boat, exactly how this Bass fishing boat is going to help in finding missing children has me at a loss. We would all love to have a bass boat. They go fast, and they are a lot of fun. However how does a bass boat save lives? One would hope that an organization like Kid Finders would be more concerned with finding the living. The Bat boat seems more geared to find the dead (well in between fishing trips)

With the Milstead’s criminal background I think it is ironic that their membership form has a mandatory question concerning any felony charges!
Here is my bone of contention, if my child was missing and someone said “hey Simon can I help look for your missing child?” I would reply “sure”. I don’t need a personal history of the person who wants to help, I just need the help. The sign up form for Kid Finders makes me leery, it looks like more a Phishing scheme than a genuine plea for assistance.
I work damn hard for my money, the idea of fleecing either the Anthony’s pockets or the Milstead’s makes me reach for the bottle of Tums.
How much longer is this stupidity going to continue?

And just how many searches for missing children involve water? I would think that if they are SERIOUS about this foundation, they could have found BETTER ways to spend the money that might actually HELP in finding a child. While Sandra was found in water, it wasn’t the use of a boat that retrieved her. I hope Spindee goes out on the boat in rough water and she bites off her tongue while chewing her cud (aka gum)!

Regarding grammar and spelling errors (aka typos) - why is it that no matter how many times you proof something that you wrote, it never fails that someone will come along and find something??? Dennis the convicted felon & the 30G boat are simply a way to exploit folks out of $$ to pay for George, Cindy, and Lee’s expenses. You know the food, mortgage, jewelry, hair styles/coloring/perms, cars, and gas get VERY expensive. This will continue for as long as Caylee’s name can be exploited. I say let them continue this type of thing. I take comfort in one idea: ANY jury will say like mother like daughter, like father like daughter. EVERY last one of the Aholes is dirty and everyone they come into contact with is dirty. It speaks volumes in my opinion. When they participate is activities such as this it simply drives the nail in further for their murdering daughter.

If this big new kid finding boat is really for finding missing kids, then why isn’t it doing just that? You can’t make me believe there aren’t any missing kids that might be in the water. I still can’t figure out how Geo wouldn’t have known something was up when he got close to the trunk trying to retrieve the gas cans out of Maggot’s car. There HAD to be some smell by then AND it was obvious Maggot was hiding something. I would think the smell would have smacked him in the face right then! They hadn’t seen Caylee in a couple of weeks at that point. We’re pretty sure Caylee had been dead for a couple of weeks by then. Geo is ex-law enforcement, KNOWS the smell of death. How could he have NOT known right then!

Yes, I believe the clothes may have smelled like death as well. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but in all the home videos/pics ect. Cindys house is spotless. i think Cindy has a prob with dirty and couldn’t have Csey’s clothes all diry/smelly around. These enablers KNEW, they KNEW.
George knew and so did Cindy, she washed the pants. They cleaned the trunk out, and if memory serves me right didn’t George say to the effect in a police interview that he was going to the trunk to get the gas cans and Casey got there first and took them out, like “she didn’t want me back there”.

Tori, when casey stole the cans there was gas in them…her car had no gas. I guess she did’nt make enough money at her job to afford gas. I guess with all the extra expenses of raising a child by yourself…diapers,food medical bills,and the like it just drove her to steal from her hardworking parents. yeh, right!

On the George in the trunk story…
…another odd thing about that story was that when George started telling it, he goes into this long thing about how he wanted to change the oil or something on C’s car… so he needed a certain kind of jack or tool from the trunk of KC’s car… he never mentions the gas cans… but would G really have some ultra-important tool in the trunk of KC’s car?… my opinion is that he was trying to tell this story and deflect any thoughts that KC has stolen the gas cans and that was what he was really looking for… I also think the ‘jack’ monologue was the same one he used when he told KC he was going to look in her trunk…
…at the end of that story, he says something about how KC reached into the trunk and grabbed whatever it was and shoved it at him while she cursed him… seemed unusual to me at the time that she would be able to grab something as heavy as a jack or even a tire iron quickly, especially since that kind of thing is usually under the trunk floorboard… but an empty gas can is really light and can be grabbed quick and flung at someone while you curse them…
Complete conjecture on my part… but if you go back and read the transcript, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense the way he tells it…

Lockwood - are you talking about the little boy that was taken during a home invasion? Can’t figure out why they took a child with them. Either they are pedophile/burglars OR they took him because the family is into something illegal and this is punishment…. they are into drugs or something. I think the kid was taken as a payback or warning about something. Something not right about that whole situation. A normal robber doesn’t want a kid along on their get away…. too much trouble and too risky. There is something else going on.

I have always wondered if along with the death clothes that C. washed, were there some shoes, boots, etc. that she either GOT RID OF, or washed with bleach (tennis shoes, etc.) then put them back in her closet. Did we hear about any?
This is SUCH a difficult case, with everyone lying, playing with evidence, DESTROYING evidence, etc. It almost feels like cindy is the #1 featured player. The whole family lying, and the others swear to it.

He is certainly on the very bottom rung, as in his grades too, on the moral spectrum. THEY knew it and didn’t even want him in their “CLUB”. I wonder how many future lawyers are prevented from taking the test because of being a low life like that? Probably not many. WHAT DID HE DO to reverse this? What could he do? Pay his back support only because FORCED? THAT still doesn’t make him A DECENT HUMAN BEING! To act GOOD - by FORCE??? He is pretty well formed by age 38.

I never realized exactly how that worked, but I read a decomposing body manufactures Choloroform among other chemicals. Wow … it MUST be horrific odor, that entire combination! Caylee was a tiny child. Imagine the smell of an adult! Talk about KNOCKING your socks off!!!!

Spacely…. I thought George THOUGHT Maggot had taken the gas cans so he said he made up a story about this tool he needed. Told her he was going to get it out of her trunk and she told him she’d get it for him. He headed out to the car and she flew past him, opened the trunk, flung the gas cans at him and said here are your f’n gas cans and slammed the trunk. Am I wrong about that? In any event, he HAD to be able to smell the body then. AND, if she was just going to give him the gas cans herself, why race past him to get them and hand them to him? If she wasn’t hiding something (a dead Caylee) in the trunk, why bother? Just let him find the cans and be done with it.

In the case of the baby thrown from the car… the mother had a domestic violence case against this guy, but she failed to appear in court, so it was thrown out… he was out on probation, but a warrant was issued for his arrest due to a violation… so there were two chances to get this guy off the streets again, but LE and the mom did not follow through…

It came up here in discussion a couple of weeks ago and I am thinking it was like the first or second week of July… after Caylee had been removed from the trunk… so I do not think she was in there, but the stain and stink were… and if the stink was so bad when they recovered the car at the tow yard after the body had been out almost a month, can you imagine the overpowering stench just a week or so after the body was removed?

I have stated before that the stupid boat is no good for finding missing children! That is unless they are living underwater with the mermaids or unless they are already dead. Then the boat should be named the body finder instead. This whole thing is a total joke, one that the public has partly taken part of, at least those who donated money. There are so many other useful items that could have been purchased with that money, to aid in the searches. If I were a millionaire, they would not get one dime of my money. I am sure I could find some genuine organization to donate to. In todays economy, folks don’t have money to throw away on a boat for their own use much less give one to Georgie to play with. He needs to get out and go to work like the father figure is supposed to do. Then he might see how hard it is for the money to just show up on your doorstep. This whole family is totally sick if you ask me, which nobody did but I said so anyway. They have lost all perspective as far as their baby grand daugther is concerned. 30 Grand would have come close to paying the price for 6 fully certified cadaver K-9’s.
5 grand would pay the tuition for one person to take a cadaver K-9 trainer/handler course. At completetion of the course the trainer could train many other dogs and handlers. If the dogs chosen for training were pound puppies it would save even more money.
This money could have been spent in a much more useful and frugal way with a greater benefit in the end.
There are plenty of people with boats in FL who will volunteer to help when someone goes missing. There are not enough cadaver or SAR dogs, IMO.

In the state of Tenn, in domestic cases the state now takes them over. Even if the one who has been abused wants to drop charges they can’t. Once a call has been place to the police is belongs to the state. I think that is a great idea.
About the gas cans, I remember it that way to. G made up something about needing in the trunk and she fled past him and trew the cans at him. I have thought that either the baby was in the car or the smell was bad at that time in the car. I have not said anything but, you don’t ever forget that smell. It is is’t own. You can not compare it to anything that I have ever smelled.

My daughter lives in Orlando and I visited her in April. On my list of things to do was drive by the Anthony’s house and where they found CAylee. Yes, I am very curious about the how? why? and all the odd bits of this horrible crime. My gut reaction is Casey is guilty, but I believe in keeping an open mind. I’ve worked as a paralegal in the criminal field and have found that there is much more background information to every situation. And we all know there are still pieces to this puzzle. ANYHOW, My daughter drove me by the Anthony’s house and I was feeling very anxious. The house was smaller then I pictured it. From the street you can see the shed on the left side of the house behind the gate. The garage door was open and as I saw the washer and dryer I shouted out “look, the washer and dryer where Cindy washed Casey’s clothes!”. It was all so REAL. My anxiety slammed me and suddenly what I was feeling was horror and loss. Then I saw George! He was standing in the garage with the “infamous hose” cleaning out the garage with it. As it was a warm day (what else in Florida?) he was wearing shorts and sandals, no shirt.
Not sure if anyone is interested in hearing the conversation I had with him…..?

OK, it’s long and i’ve got silly nails on. We turned around in the cul de sac and my daughter said Mom, go talk to him, you know you want to…if you dont, you will always regret it…That was so true I took a deep breath and got out of the car. I had to walk across the street and George was inside the garage about a foot or so….I walked slowly and didn’t want to appear threatening in any way… I stopped a distance a way and said “Mr. Anthony,… Ok, gotta say here, I have the most precious Grandson that I am raising here in WA, seattle area. He is my HEART. Regardless of Casey and anything else, I feel for them as Grandparents. The videos show love in that home, at least I think so. So then the whole thing overwhelmed me and I burst out crying. I was embarrassed, my honestly I couldnt hold it back. Such a feeling of loss..so he looked up and shut off the water and walked over to me. I introduced myself and where Im from and told him I wanted to express my sorrow for their loss. And he smiled warmly and graciously. I didn’t see the George I’ve seen on TV. Then I asked him if I could shake his hand…I meant in a consoling way…he extended his hand and we stayed like that for about 5 minutes as he talked. Gosh this is so long. ..I will stop here and keep writing another post..(sorry its long, but it was a BIG Deal for me to do this)

Yes, their dogs would smell the decomp and either be repulsed by it or try to dig the remains up. They would not know to alert, obviously. If they found her early enough they would smell her as Caylee and would definitely try to unearth her, IMO. If they smelled the decomp days later they might still try to dig the remains up but occasionally an untrained dog will get sick from the smell just like humans do. This would make the dog avoid the area or eat a lot of grass when in the area. All just my opinion and observations.

I’m not really up on the Milsteads and their troubles/motives - but I cannot find anywhere (and it was a quick search) that they are actually “felons”… so if anyone can verify that..?
I can tell you from personal, painful, experience that conducting a SAR operation is a long, hard, expensive activity. Rarely is someone found on the first search unless they are in plain view - and even then, time and animals take a toll and the remains are easily overlooked. A boat with sidescan sonsr is something I would love to have - it won’t find a live missing person, but it can locate a body on the bottom of a pond/river/seabed. Finding remains is just as important - for closure and gathering evidence.
Sure, there are those out there that take advantage of good, caring, charitable people - but the $$ that comes in can be spent on a search very quickly too. I cannot say what the Milsteads motives are - but I would hope there are some members of this organization that have decent, ethical, and sincere motives?

guideon, I wholeheartedly agree that aboat with sonar is an asset when searching for missing persons…but come on, a speedboat? I kind of think thats alittle overkill. Why not buy two smaller type boats,equip them with sonar and cover as much ground a little slower? Please right me if I’m wrong…I’ve only been on one missing child search (jacob wetterling) and that was on the ground. I know that time is of the essence in any search but searching under water would need to be done slowly as not to miss anything.

Baez neglected to ask the judge to seal the statements of Lt. Tammy Unser and others who were aware of Casey’s anxiety attack on December 11. So, even though the jail video has not been released, the public already knows how Casey reacted.

She was in waist chains and handcuffs and she kept saying, ‘The waist chains are getting tighter and tighter on me, please loosen them,’” Jail Lt. Tammy Unser told Detective Philip Graves during an interview on the afternoon of December 11
Baez questioned Lt. Unser for about two hours and said he needs to continue questioning her. He said we’ll be surprised when we find out what he’s learned so far about the jail taping, even though he says he doesn’t know the whole story yet.
The same subject will take Casey back to court later this month.
On May 28, her lawyer will fight to make sure the public never sees the video of Casey’s reaction to the news her daughter’s remains had been found.

Kim - a bass boat would not necessarily be my choice but it is not a speedboat unless one puts a very big outboard motor on it. The boat must be shallow draft to be able to get into some areas, be capable of slow (trolling) speeds and must be clear of things onboard that might interfere with putting equipment/divers etc into/out of the water. A decent outfitted workboat would cost upwards of $60k, so maybe Benevides just got a good deal on this Bat Boat?

Capy - agree, an inboard would be a better choice. Sidescan sonar must be towed at at constant speed and maintain a constant depth to be most effective. A bass boat could be used but it would take a very experienced operator to operate the boat and one to operate the sonar system. A bass boat might be somewhat effective for dragging line operations. My guess is that it will be used for promotions and carrying the media around - interfering with SAR operations.

The reason I said that is because I only approached him for one reason. To express my sympathy for the loss of Caylee. And when he was defending himself and Cindy, well I couldnt look him in the eye. I certainlly wasnt going to agree with him or say, why sir! that’s exactly what I would have done” I was grieving for Caylee, not there to vindicate ANYONE!

Even though they are all getting grown they hang here. I love it. The little ones really have me. They all know that they are welcome here. Here they stay most of the time. Love it. My parents did not understand when I allowed two teens live with me. They just don’t understand the blessings these kids have brought to me and my husband. Kids young and old are a gift. That is one reason that I have such a hard time when someone hurts a child.

Pammy, It is so good to take her out to play. When mine were littl after breakfast and clean up we would go out until luch and nap, then back out. We loved it. It is so healthy. I did not allow mine to sit in front of the tv when it was nice out. They still love to be outside. Like you I was an inside person until I had children. How is you angel this am.

I’ve seen trial cases with less edvidence and the jurors came back with a guilt verdict.
It boils down to common sense and human behavior.
On the subject of lap top, my uncle was telling me that there is a lap top on sale now for about fifity dollars. That is amazing. I don’t know who has it but, that is a good deal.

I live in the next county over and we get the news coverage on an hourly bases. Plus, My 19 month old girl is on the run all day long now.
When this all started I could hang out for hours cause she was still little, but now she more mobile then ever.

Beth, I would not want to be them for anyhing either. Who would. Money or not. I had rather be flat brooke than have to walk in their shoes. I have had problems with one of my children. It was the hardest thing that I have ever had to endure. However, that said. I put blame where blame deserved to be. On my child. Yes, he said a few times that I did not love him. I told him that was fine. I am not here to be his friend but his parent. I have seen so many parents who cover for their kids to the point that they hurt them. I believe that is exally what is wrong with the entire A family. All they know how to do is lie and cover for any wrong doing with their children. Small or great. They may have fought it out at home at times but, it is clear that by doing this they are destroying any respect that they could recieve from the public. If they had handled this in the proper way they would have the world behind them. They are a waste.

beth, your absoulty right i have way more than them and its not money…all 6 of my grandchildren have loving parents, i dont have to worry mine will end up dead and bagged by thier parent…also all my children are for the most truthfull, i at least dont have to sort out untruths from truths and they wouldnt lie to me about working..and stealing money well i dont have any to steal, but my child has never even gotten in to my purse non have or i can leave money laying around anywhere and not one penny will be missing!!!
