Friday, I traveled to Putnam County, Florida like a I do so many days since 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings was taken from her Satsuma home on February 10, 2009.
This trip was a little different.
The toll this case has taken on me, my family and my friends was obvious. I was tired, angry and upset. My family’s last words to me out the door that morning were still ringing in my ears: “This is taking over your life: The mysterious calls in the middle of the night–the national TV–running to the radio station at all hours….we are worried!”
I know she’s right, but there is still a little girl who is missing and not a whole lot of people seem to care–including some members of her own family.
When I got to Palatka, I stopped by the hotel where private investigator/bondsman/surety agent William “Cobra” Staubs was staying.
The case had been tearing him up, too.
He is trying to move the investigation forward and find Haleigh, but there always seems to be a roadblock at every turn –sometimes it’s factions within a local law enforcement agency, sometimes it’s private citizens and sometimes it’s the criminal element who would very much like for Staub’s to leave their local “businesss operations” alone.
I told him I had an old video camera with me and thought that it would be a good idea if we talked about the investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance on tape with no edits.
He agreed.
What you will see in this video is about 22:18 of a very candid conversation about the ups, the downs, the misconceptions and facts about Haleigh’s abduction and the way it has affected so many people.

First of all I want to say thank you for TJ Hart, “Cobra” and all of the other folks involved for keeping the Haleigh Cummings case actively updated. I am not a relative or a friend of the family, but I am a concerned citizen who has followed this case shortly after this child’s story was aired on national television. I have been trying to look up information regarding this case, on my i-phone and have gotten lost through all of the different news blogs. I came across this one today and decided to posts a comment. Sorry, my i-phone won’t let me download Adobe Flash; therefore, I can not listen in on what “Cobra” had to say. I am so thankful that someone besides law enforcement is trying to locate Haleigh. Something just isn’t right. LE should have more answers than they proclaim they do not have. Out of thousand’s of tips, LE states they have not received any substantial info on this case. Unbelievable!!! What are they waiting on? Someone to pull in to their facility and drop the child off? As many or few years that I had working with LE and other agencies, did this type of miracle ever occur. I’m not knocking all LE agencies or individuals. I know they have a tough and dangerous job. Sometimes. So dangerous, it would make the most fearless afraid, and rightfully so. However, there is a “Little girl gone missing” named Haleigh Cummings….. the whole world has been brought in on this and from what I have seen on different web sites, and out in the general public, the WHOLE world wants answers! LE, no offense, but it’s been way to long not to have ” any idea”, on what has happened to this child. This case is of personal interest to me because of some things that were brought to my attention right before this story aired on national news! I had no idea this child was missing until it was reported on television. Cobra, keep up the good work! You to, Mr. Hart! Cobra, do you have access to all of LE’s reports? If not, you should. I hope you are going to be able to stay on this case, otherwise this little girl may forever be lost!

I finally got it….I don’t know about everyone else but when I see a grown man cry because he feels so helpless it brings me to tears. All Cobra wants to do is find little Haleigh, and it seems he wants this more than the childs own father…soooosad…Hang in there Cobra, My heart and my prayers are with you. I recently lost my job but if twenty dollars will buy you a good lunch then hold on cuz’ its on the way, I know its not much. GOD BLESS YOU SON!

Why dont Cobra make a paypal account so it would be easy for him to get alot of donations? So many more people would throw him some cash if it was easier then sening snail mail.

Hey pickles, is there anymore info on that video of that little girl that was being sexually abused by her custodial so called father?? Did it turn out to be a hoax or was it real?
It could be real….very possibly…so I dont know Jan and Simon are investigating it and helpin I have offered more of my assistance due to information given to me personally by Jan so I am on the fence but here willing to lend my assistance if need be….It got heated and ugly here last night…

I guess I missed that… But everyone has the right to their own opinion. Though I do not know you personally and judging from reading your writings on here, I am quite sure that there isn’t much you would’nt do to help this child if you could. You also seem to be very internet “smart” and I can see where it could easily appear to be a scam. I am so computer dumb that if I had a pile of money to spare and it were a scam, I would have been jacked!!! Lets just hope and pray it is a scam for this little girls sake!

I knew something was wrong the minute it was reported that Ronald Cummings was granted custody of little Haleigh Cummings. I knew something was wrong when it was reported that Ronald Cummings has a questionable drug involvement past but that all charges have been mysteriously dropped against this scum bag.
THERE IS SOMETHING ROTTEN IN PUTNAM COUNTY!
It is my personal opinion that there is the possibility that the drug, and prostitution businesses in PUTNAM COUNTY might include children AND THIS is more than I can bare to entertain.
It makes me so angry that Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin are about town getting tattooed, buying new vehicles, eating, sleeping, living while little Haleigh is still missing.
Misty Croslin’s snub little ways and her attitude reek of being responsible for Haleigh Cummings being missing, if you ask me.
HOW DID RONALD CUMMINGS GET CUSTODIAL RIGHTS TO HALEIGH ANYWAY? HE DID NOT DESERVE TO BE! Just because he had a job and could earn a living does NOT make him the best parent no matter what anyone says. THE CURRENT SITUATION PROVES MY ASSERTION. I highly doubt that this would have happened to HALEIGH if she was in her mothers custody, case and control.
BOTH MISTY AND RON need to fry.
WHY HAS THE LOUD MOUTHED, RUDE WITCH WITH A CAPITAL “B” NANCY GRACE STOPPED REPORTING ON THIS CASE ANYWAY? IS SHE AFRAID? THE COWARD LOUD MOUTH SHE IS.
