I had to quit volunteering at the hospital after they brought in a little 2 1/2 yo girl who had hung herself accidently on her swing set at her grandparent's house. She had been standing on the seat of the swing and twisting it (like we all probably did when we were little) so it would spin with her. She somehow got the chain around her neck and it twisted and she fell off the seat she was standing on. Her grandfather found her. Thought he was going to be the next patient! He left her to go in and go the bathroom - came out and she was hung. I was helping in the ER when they brought the little girl in. Worked on her for what seemed like an eternity but couldn't save her. It was MY job to keep the family out of the room! Yeah, that was really fun!
