		<description>Yes indeed Self Publishing and Print On Demand are two potentially different beasts, however today they do run into each other in a blur.

I can see clear pros and cons to SP, POD, and more traditional routes. All can work, but all need the same attention to detail. SP and POD can avoid some very important steps. They may seem trivial at the time, but as sure as the sun will rise in the morning they will come back to bite you.

Self-publishing existed long before POD. Many self-publishers now use POD, but so do traditional publishers.

POD is a type of printing, not a type of publishing. 

Printing is only one stage of publishing.</description>
