Great article,

Keep calling out against the bullying and abuse.

I hope the principal gets fired. The more publicity the better. That's also why we need laws to force principals to act and to protect them from counter-suits by the parents of the little terrorists. I always think of Lucius Malfoy protecting his little Draco.

And the bullies get more publicity then they can handle.

We don't know about his parents. The parents responsibility for helping teaching their son goes way beyond complaining to the school. And they might have done a great job ... kids often reject the help.

Best wishes,
Ben

as sad as it is some of the bullies parents even encourage this kind of behavior, i read in one paper where the mother took her teenage girls to a fight and was encouraging them on, with this kind of parental behavior i think it might be hopless, but i agree bullies need to be stoped schools need to take action and if the behavior continues then expell the offender, it sounds mean but how fair is it to the child who is getting bullied on a daily basis!

Since you mention Google Alerts, you should also consider using Google Alerts to stay on top of situations like this. Monitoring the use of your child's name online can't prevent bullying, but it can give you a chance to intervene before it is too late. Along with your child's name, there are many other names and keywords that you should be keeping track of with Google Alerts. I wrote a recent blog post on the need for parents to monitor thier childrens online lives that contains over a dozen detailed tips:

I hope this is useful.

I read about this on (oddly enough) one of the feminist blogs. Very, very sad. (I think it was Feministing.)

What is wrong when we live in a world where people just do not care? Especially when it involves children?
