I think everyone on this blog feels for this girl’s family what was done to her was just wrong, but to say if the people here ran the country justice would consist of lynch mobs I feel that comment is a bit harsh. The people here are passionate about these children’s lives and they want to see justice for these children. Sandra cannot speak for herself as to what happened to her that afternoon so it is the evidence that will have to speak for her, but if the evidence without a doubt convicts her killer then justice should be swift and quick. I for one see many speak out here for these kids because these kids cannot speak for themselves any longer. Having passion, caring and the voice to speak your feelings does not constitute lynch mob justice. A case like this is so hard to understand cause the motive’s and theories can be so many. If Melissa Huckaby committed this crime as she being charged for what sparked it off what is the motive??? Now the rape charges it is all so bizzare to understand. She went into the hospital shortly after for internal bleeding as they are reporting but perhaps there was remorse and she attempted suicide. There are so many unanswered questions in this case and as many profiler’s have stated on talk shows time will bring it all out. The woman’s family cannot believe this either also and none of them have denied her guilt or innocence. It’s very sad for all person’s involved and so confusing. I truly want to see justice brought in this case. I don’t understand what would make this woman snap to committ this crime.

The Boy was holding a brown paper lunch bag that was rolled up with with I have always throught was a bag of weed inside. He was carring it by the rolled up part just like you would carry a lunch. I heavy gun would have torn thru the bag after he was hit by the police car and slammed to the ground. Or even before that when he was running. The boy was still holding the bad and it still looked like a half ounce of weed as he laid face down on the ground with his arms spread out wide like the police had him on a cross being crucified. His face was pointing streight to the pavement and did not roll to the side because his face was blown off so what was left was a flat spot. There was only one police car that carried the murders but moments latter more show up from the oppsite direction thru the alley.

The mother of this boy should not go to her grave in shame thinking she had a cop killer for a son, which is the police version of the story. She should rest in peace and know he was bacially a good boy, the boy she knew, not a cop killer.

My favorite quote: “Child killers don’t deserve a fair trial”. Most of you obviously don’t even see what’s insane in that statement, and I’m sure not going to waste my time trying to explain it.

You’re post was informative. I was not familiar with the case in Texas until your post, I googled the case, and in fact you are correct, there is a case as you described, Mark and Rhonda Leshner are suing 178 bloggers.

I would, however, like to point out the fact that a lawsuit is not a judgement. They have to win first. I don’t have any idea what the comments involved actually said, but I believe enough in the Constitution of this country to believe we are all free to voice our opinions.
Voicing one’s opinion only rises to the level of libel or slander, if the speaker knowingly lies about someone to the point of damage. That is a huge burden of proof for the plaintiff’s in this lawsuit.

But who knows, you never know.

For a person to do something as crazy as what
you are insinuating “Snapping” there would be a long history of documented “Snapping” over the last 20 years of her life. Her co-worker and friends would have noticed something was very wrong with her. Folks that “Snap” useally have some sort of chemical imbalance of the Brain and can’t control themselfs without medication.

It is possible that we are talking about the same crime. A crime where the boy was innocent and the mother did a great job.
A Mother that should hold her head up high and feel proud of work that she done. A Mother that should be thankful she gave up her life, just to give it to someone she loved…her Son.

It’s costs 22,000 a year to house a state inmate and 77,000 a year to house a federal inmate. That’s where the money would come from.
At first it would be a one for one reallocation of money spent by trading mentoring for the cost of housing an inmate.
The amount of money needed to correct the crime problem would go down over time as many childeren who end up in a life of crime also have friend’s or family members who taught them their evil ways by example. Can you amagine a world where children grow up where they don’t have to see the kid on the street corners selling drugs. Children are very impressionable. I think we could do a better job of leaving the right impression and save lots of money at the same time saving victoms and the inmate as well.

Due to the right to govern ourselfs many have a difficult time understanding the difference between revenge and justices.

The right to goveren ourself is a good thing
but too many people can not do it without our help.

I think there’s a way to stop most of the crime. Our way of thinking as a result of our juditial system and the bill of rights prevent it.

Most criminals come from broken families where the father is not around or the children recieve little guidance. It would be easy to identify these high risk children and give money to the schools for a huge mentoring program. The money would come from the state and federal goverment. It cost 22,000 a year to house a state inmate and 77,000 a year for a federial inmate. The money could be applied in a proactive manner not a reactive one which destroys the life of the child / inmate too.

But, under our way of thinking which is molded buy our bill of rights “We have the right to govern ourselves.

Until we find the compasion to help the families we do not really care for we will be burdened with the cost of the juditial system and all of it’s prisions.

Let’s also not forget that the HIV rate in many prisions is 90%. Due to rapr we have folks coming out after 2 years spreading HIV.

If crime fighting was working there would be no reason to build more prisons as the populations increase.

Maybe someday crime fighting will mean eliminating crime and not controling crime
by taking the child / inmates life away.

In my book it’s a crime to know where a child is likely to end up and not do anything about it.

First, I’d like to point out that the author of this article was not “reporting” an event. Her article was and is a commentary on the situation. Are you able to grasp the difference ??

If it is “reporting” you are after, Might I suggest CNN or Fox News ??

The author who wrote this article and many other articles as well does so out of a deep seated concern for the abuse of children everywhere. This author writes with a passionate belief that abusers of children have no place in our society.

If it’s “Professionalism” you are after, possibly Geraldo Rivera, Nancy Grace, or, probably in your case, Jerry Springer might be what you are looking for. You see all of these individuals are paid, therefore “Professional”.

The author’s “reporting skills show that she does in fact live in a trailer park” ?? What keen powers of observation you must have. I never new that reporting skills were a prerequisite for a certain place of residence.

Now that I know that, may I hazard a guess as to your domocile ?? I’ll bet it’s a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere.

Note from the editor: Bella there is nothing wrong with anyone living in a trailer or a trailer park. At least they can pay their house note when someone living in a huge expensive home probably has to beg, borrow and steal to make their high notes. Besides I use to live in a double wide manufatured home and I loved it. But I would like to make a suggestion to you. If you can’t say anything nice about our authors don’t say anything at all. The writer of this article is a very smart woman and I would be willing to bet she could teach you one hell of a lot starting with how to improve your manners even though that would be a hard job since you appear to be one snobby woman. We had 3 of them in the PHX area and the family-owned craft store closed down all three. I think a lot of women were in tears. I still miss it. We have Michaels, but NOTHING compared to Craftsmart.

When I was 18 I witnessed the police murder a young boy. They hit him with a car and when he got up and ran they shot him in the back of the head. I seen the big red splash of blood fly from his head. The papers said the boy pulled a gun and they fired a warning shot and then had to kill him. Wrong…no gun I was close stopped at a red light in my car. When I went to the police 3 times to report the murder
the police said to come back another day. They have noeone to take the case. The reason I go to the police is because I feel bad for the boy’s mother who will go to her grave thinking she had a boy who was a cop killer. He was murdered by the cops. The police stick together in covering up the murders they commit.

It is my opion that in most cases the only honest person in a court room is the judge. Both sides lie to gain advanage, the judge sorts it all out and most of the time does the right thing.

I don’t trust the police and their interviews after reading many cases where 12-16 year old boy’s were charged with murder after giving written statements saying they did it. The police told the boy’s things like “you’ll be home by morrining if you just say you did it in writting”. The boy’s ended up being inocent.

They had extreme evidence on the boy’s too.

Melissa has been charged with 2 different counts of murder:
187 and 187A
187 - Murder
187A - Murder with malice aforethought

187A means - premeditation

LE DOES NOT randomly press these kinds of charges without extreme evidence. They all but eluded to the fact that Melissa confessed.

The proof will be in the pudding. But for now, she is locked up, where she should be. Unless you maybenot, can prove otherwise!

Found an article 1 hour old on google news that police think Sandra was killed at the church. But, when I opened it, there is no mention of that in the article.

The next few days, maybe more will be released on this case.

My point:
The police use the
interpetation that would establish probable cause.
