Allegations have been made against Baez that he told private investigator Dominic Casey to avoid calling 911 if he found Caylee Anthony’s remains.

Casey told detectives in that interview that someone asked him to keep quiet if he found the body. Parts of that interview were determined by a judge to be confidential and were not released to the public.

Baez called the allegations “ridiculous.”

ORLANDO — News 13 has learned Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, is being investigated by the Florida Bar.

Officials said the investigation involved directions Baez allegedly gave to a private investigator.

However, a representative for the Florida Bar has not said who the investigator is, the information given, or when or who filed the complaint against Baez.

Officials said it is currently in the first of several steps it needs to take before any action — if any is taken.

Marti McKenzie, the spokeswoman for Baez, released the following statement.

“Mr. Baez has done nothing unethical, and like earlier complaints, these allegations will be shown to be untrue.”

Organizers with the search group have said sheriff’s officers told them not to look in areas because of the dangers. Anthony “collapsed into a chair and appeared to be hyperventilating,” Lt. Tammy Unser said in an audio recording with detectives that was released this week.

Later, however, according to Unser, Anthony said, “‘This isn’t real. I am not breaking down,’ then she started talking about football … about the national championship.

Unser was on duty at the Orange County Jail on the day Anthony was brought to a medical clinic after learning from a radio in her cell that a child’s remains were discovered about a mile from the home where she and her daughter, Caylee, lived.

The body was later identified as Caylee, who was 2 when she was reported missing. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Caylee’s death.

When she saw a live TV broadcast in the cell, Anthony “lost her breath. We told her to take some deep breaths and she got some real shallow breathing,” Unser told investigators. “She never appeared to be crying but continued to breath rapidly and fast.”

Casey was moved to another room at the jail. She didn’t want to be alone and asked Lt. Unser to stay with her, Unser said.

Unser said Anthony asked for a sedative and wanted to know when her attorney was coming. It wasn’t until attorney Jose Baez showed up that Anthony broke down. (Audio: Hear Unser’s Full Interview)

Baez has criticized the taping of Anthony in jail and is seeking to have it removed as evidence from the case.

The State Attorney’s Office said audio from the jail was mistakenly released with the other evidence on Monday.
