Our government budget can now afford this super armour plated vehicle for Obama's security and just a short time ago, our government could not find funds to armour plate at all hummers used by our troops to patrol streets in countries they were sent under war conditions? Anyone recall soldiers rummaging in trash dumps for anything to reinforce the underside of their vehicles that would perhaps help protect them from being blown up by hidden bombs along the road? Both Republicans and Democrats seem to have strange priorities?

HMS GANNET was not the sister ship of HMS RESOLUTE as she was commissioned just shortly before RESOLUTE was broken up in 1879. RESOLUTE was a one-off and started life as the PTARMIGAN and was bought by the Royal Navy and strengthened for Arctic exploration. For more details on the RESOLUTE tale readers should see "HMS RESOLUTE: From the Canadian Arctic to the President's Desk" by Elizabeth Matthews
