Does my mixed ancestry offer more opportunity for "spontaneous upgrades" in IQ? Does coming from one supportive parent in self-education, while the other was the emotive, and intellectual opposite offer any information? Certainly pheronomes played more a part in their mutual attraction than did intellectual measurement of potential offspring. My point is that if Da Vinci could be a genius in 16th century Venice, as could others of that age and in the past, what makes anyone think that the same thing isn't happening today? If IQ solely were the measurement of success we'd have a lot of rich genius'. We don't. In fact, it is more likely that everyday Joe is more focused, less cerebral, more persistent and less distracted, and that makes him enjoy more success. Everyday Joe is more likely to practically apply the genius discovered by others than the genius themselves. Sometimes the joy in intellect is when it manifests in discovery, in insight, soon followed by the guy who brings it to market. The joy part? Knowing you were right. Genius is NOT it's own reward, more a curse. Awareness of self leads to hyper-critical analysis, not necessarily leading to improvement, more to depression and regret. The evolution of society is an IQ feedback loop, forcing ever faster evolutionary acceleration of societal IQ. Which also highlights one of natire's and evolution's dichotomies; natural selection opts for survival characteristis, predator characteristics mostly. Intellectual improvement isn't a primary survival characteristic...yet. Which is why evolution has allowed so many species mistakes, dead ends. If survival is first, then inclination towards reproduction is at the top of the list, immediately after self-survial. After survial needs, staying alive, the intellectual component of cooking genius is pretty far down the list. Pretty soon, today's genius will be tomorrow's challenged. If we last that long. Now there's a drag on society!! And they pay a disproportionate share (per capita) of taxes. Having Jews in your country makes you richer. A quick search online will reveal that many of the medical and technical advances of this century have been made by Jews.
