These two cases have captured the hearts of many of us. How can anyone do harm to a young child? Even stranger is that both cases are within the same geographical area. One has ended with the sad discovery of a bag of bones, and the mother Casey Anthony sits behind bars awaiting trial. Although to be honest with you I think she should be joined inside by some of her relatives, as a few of them seem to have either consciously or subconsciously contributed to her demise.
The second case of young Haleigh Cummings is almost as perplexing. The police are being tight lipped, but it seems like a dragnet is being put in place, and a great deal of interest seems to focus on the 17 year old babysitter/lover and now wife, Misty.
With this as our background we launched our weekly radio show. Joining me in the studio was my wife Jan Barrett, from Oregon Ms. Pickles, from Sin City, Nevada, crime writer and author Denny Griffin, and from Gainsville, Florida, seasoned news reporter TJ Hart. Yes, it is the same guy we hear on Nancy Grace and Jane Valez Mitchell.
For weeks we have been speculating about the Haleigh Cummings story, but we were far away, this was the first show that we were able to bring in someone who is at ‘ground zero’. TJ Hart works for Sky 97.3 News Talk Radio and is right in the thick of the action. He is also happy to share his email address for anyone to write in with tips or other information.
It was a lively hour of Internet radio. We do seem to have the best callers and panelists!
I do not claim to be an expert, but I thought that I understood this case reasonably well. How wrong I was! TJ was able to fill us all in on the small details that do not make it to the 30 second sound bite seen in TV. There is a lot more to the Haleigh Cummings case than meets the eye.

Did hear the show tho. Always set my kitchen timer for 2:20PM on Sundays so I can check my computer to see if Simon has it there. He always does, as consistent as the sun-rise.

Mother’s Day is May 10th in Canada this year, it’s always the second Sunday of May.
i think alot of whats coming out is like TJ said alot of old hurt wounds festering now from the years, and now instead of focusing on the missing child its become about them, i dont like the fact however on married when his kid is missing or got an expensive tattoo, and he doesnt say alot in his interviews.

I’ve been to Ft.Knox once. It’s about 2 1/2 hrs. away. Padukah is farther and I don’t think I’ve been there.. Don’t know the Troy Tenn. area. All towns here in Central Ky. are about 10 miles apart, so it’s not so bad getting around. The town I live in is small but at least it ain’t Bugtussel..
lol i loved the little maybee town so quiet, rural, like an old andy griffith town… i love to explore and see new places traveld alot when iw as a kid, not much now at all. wish i could. would love to see oregon where pickles is and get back down south, i will someday take my girl down there our roots are there… michigan is cold and bad weather. although theres alot of beautiful areas here if you go rural.

I love Michigan! My husbands family lives there. Dowagiac, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Birmingham.. Some beautiful farming communities with the orchards. My husbands family had a cottage on Indian Lake in Dowagiac. Oh, the memories of those days!!

We had to go thru Detroit when we visited a family member some years back and I had to go to the bathroom. We stopped at a gas station right in downtown Detroit. I think it was a rough side of town and I was scared to death. I liked the outside communities tho.

Because i heard them say misty was telling everone she passed her and ron, and then it was big deal about crystal not taking one so she went and took one? I keep seeing people ask why Crystal waited so long to report abuse. The answer is simple.
She did not wait. She has reported abuse multiple times. DCF has investigated and so far, has found nothing wrong.
Crystal is not the smartest woman and she has not been the most responsible and seems to have made many mistakes. But she now has the opportunity to make a legal fight for the children. Before now, if she qualified, she might have been able to get legal help, but the help she has access to now is way better than the “free” stuff.
I am not defending Crystal or her past or any of her actions. I just want the facts to be out there that she has reported abuse in the past. She states there was no abuse while she was there. It does seem that this is a legal tatic to regain control of the children, but having seen their situation and with one missing, can you blame her?
On the other side, everytime I see Ron smirk and say “I was at work” or hear Misty say “That’s all I know”, I hear M saying “The thing I have been telling you the truth about the whole time is the last person I saw my daughter with was…”
This situation is so completely screwed up…

CA, Crystal reported the exact same incident back in November ‘08. Used the same pics of Haleigh with the cuts to nose, chin, and the black eye.
DCF basically said that it was all from the playground accident and Crystal and her mom felt that was all they could legally do. They reported it, DCF shot it down.
Now they have some legal muscle with this new pro bono atty who actually sounds intelligent when she talks. She is saying the timeline does not add up, the documentation does not add up, and that DCF was not aware of the “stick” bruises to Jr at the time.
It certainly seems enough to warrant another look-see to me since one of these kids is now missing under a cloud of ever-changing stories.

I know I’m probably a little late on this, but apparently Casey stated in the missing pages that it was a mercy murder….She is so toast if it says that in the missing pages. From what I understand, they found the missing pages when they went back to the Ants house for the last search. I hope this is what seals the deal.
As for Haleigh, I have no clue what to think. I’m too backed up in this case. I’m not up to speed on it right now. Just gathering what info I can get right now on here.

Lorim @ 11:26am - I don’t know that Maggot was very smart about killing Caylee. I think the fact that she did not report Caylee missing for so long helped a LOT. But even so she was not prepared with a decent cover story. I still can’t figure that out. I mean I would think that anyone would know the cops would learn there was no nanny. So what did Maggot think? (If she thought that far at all?) That only her mother would eventually find out? That she could control her mother if she did?
According to what Leevil says happened the night of the 911 call Maggot did not handle that very well - let her mother call 911 three times!
And it was really stupid of Maggot to put Caylee so close to home. It was just LUCK (dammit!) that no one found the remains sooner.

Sometimes I wonder if we’re really doing any good blogging like this other than listening to each other and having a place to express ourselves and learn about these cases.
But recently it occurred to me that if we stick together over the long term we may be able to influence some things. Like keeping track of the sick Anthony family’s efforts to embroil themselves and make money off of lost children in the future. I will do anything at all to prevent that from happening. I think we can do that! Because time passes, people forget, evil people like the ANthony’s remake their public image and suddenly they’re in the business of “saving” lost children or something. But not if WE constantly remind people of their involvement in the death of their grandchild and point out how immoral and inappropriate (ridiculous!) that is! So I’m glad we all found each other and I’m looking forward to the long term projects we have!
Any suggestions for what to do, when and how to do it are welcome!
Maybe the first target should be the CMA Foundation! Anyone got a relative with the IRS who can be sure the Foundation gets audited?
Any ties to the media to try to find out what it’s about and if the ants are making money on it? Just for starters!!

What is a Sidgo?
California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who first bailed accused child killer Casey Anthony out of jail, is looking into purchasing the land where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found on December 11th.
The lot has become a shrine to Caylee with crosses, signs, and hundreds of stuffed animals.
Sarah Shelton, who works with Padilla, told WDBO that he is considering building a memorial to all missing children.
“Maybe a wall or something to that affect with everybody’s name on it… maybe a playground,” she said.
She says the asking price is $89,000. They’ve offered $50,000.
The idea doesn’t sit well with the homeowner’s association, who is “absolutely against” any plans to disrupt their neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Padilla tells WDBO that his deposition in a civil case against Casey Anthony has been postponed. Lawyers for a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez were set to question him Tuesday. Padilla says the deposition has been postponed until after George and Cindy Anthony are questioned on April 9th.

I think it has to do with zoning too… If it’s zoned to be residential you’d have to get it changed to whatever parks are classified to and if big bro gov’t doesn’t like your idea it’s done… I think maybe a quiet park, memorial type thing would be ok… I’m sure it’s upsetting to the current owners… On a main road by my house these 2 kids (19 & 21) lost control of the car because the 21 yo just turned 21 and was drinking… they crashed into this huge tree in this guys front yard and died… It ripped the bark off the tree and it’s still a reminder over a year later to something happened… Well all their friends and familu keep putting up crosses and stuff in this guys front yard, posting big signs to the tree as a memorial to these guys… The guy eventually took them down and posted his own sign for them to stop trespassing on his property leaving memorials… People need to grieve but it’s a grim reminder for the property owner that someone died in their yard, they remember that everyday…. Something subtle would be good…

I read this blog daily and appreciate very much the insight I get from people like me that are grasping to understand the unthinkable to all of us that have children, and if you’re very fortunate, grandchildren.
I remember the first interview I heard from Cindy Anthony. She said she would walk to the ends of the earth to find her grandaughter. I thought, wow, this lady is just exactly like I would be.
Then as time went by, I became sickened by what was a game being played by these people. They support, in any way they can, the lies and murderous heart of their daughter.
I love my son and daughter-in-law, but if one of my grandaughters was missing for 31 minutes, much less 31 days, and they lied to me about what was going on……they would beat me to the jail begging to be let in because they would know Papa’s coming with all the thunder I can bring.
I went to Orlando 3 days and walked through the weeds and swampy places looking for Caylee. I gave days off, with pay, to any of my employees who would go help and many did. But you know what ?? Cindy wasn’t looking, George wasn’t looking, and Lee wasn’t looking.
The only walking I’m aware of by these people was into the Ritz Carlton.
To hell with these bastards and their “foundation”. They might not like how that turns out.

They (NG & others) like to get the drift of what public opinion. On Caylee Daily an article is up about softening up Monster’s appearance. And, you have to admit, from the first court-ordered appearance with the bun and playing with Bozo, they have tried several “outfits” and hairstyles. Plus, their (Bozo & M) demeanor has changed.
But, it doesn’t matter what they do for her outward appearance or mannerisms - she is still a Monster and nothing is going to change that

Beth…we think LE found the missing pages in their last search of the Anthouse….back when Geo and Sindee were flying back from Cali and ended up spending the night at the Ritz. There has been specific info leaked about what is contained in the missing pages. If it’s true, Maggot is toast! There aren’t enough Bozo’s on the planet to get her out of this.
By the way, is it storming where you are at? It looks like the first week of spring could bring some bad weather our way! You be careful girl! Don’t want to see you on CNN being interviewed with your house shredded in the background and some reporter asking you about what sound a tornado makes!

Yes looks like typical OK spring here, cloudly & sprinkles but not stormy yet. I lived south of Tulsa for 30 yrs roughly & the tornados got closer to us there, use to watch them roll in but we lived close to the Ark river & they pull to the river when they get close u know. We moved her 5 yrs ago & the neighbors say tornados don’t pass thru, right on the lake.
I was working at Bordertown when they came thru Joplin in ‘05, got off work & were told not to leave, me & another gal were just trying to get to the machines to play!
yep thats it in a nutshell what capy said, and if its true , well shoot skip the trial its over… i want to know if she wrote it before or after the killing

Beth…when I was about 10 we had a tornado take out about 8 trees in our yard and plant them on our house! We’re talking 100 year old oaks! It was VERY frightening and I’ve NEVER heard anything like it!
Yeah, I was at Downstream this weekend….that’s exactly where my money went too…downstream….and I haven’t seen it since….gotsta stay away from that place! Those one-armed bandits will getcha!

On the Padilla/property interest.. I hope he does NOT talk the seller into letting him get the land. No matter what he does, it will be self-serving, no matter what he is saying right now.
He has proven to be an attention whore and I don’t think has it in him to not make it an “attraction”.
Unless the county/state bought the land, it really isn’t practical to make it a playground. That comes with all sorts of responsibility and insurance coverage, etc.
If someone would just buy it (or the owner do it?) and just level it with benches and trees, wouldn’t that be tranquil and let people sit and maybe give a thought to little Caylee and any other children who live in harms’ way. I still like the idea of some sculptures depicting playing children scattered here and there.
If it stays privately owned without a home, the owner has to keep it maintained, etc. In our economic time right now, I’m not sure how many people are willing to part with money for an investment that won’t return a profit.
Even if a home is built there, it will hold a family who enjoy life and care for the home.
Hopefully, some day that land will be a happy place, rather than a goulish attraction to where a child’s body was tossed by her own mother.
But, PLEASE.. no Padillas or Cobras!
