The Haleigh Cummings case seems to be heating up, the major players one by one are getting themselves lawyered up and the sparks are flying. One aspect that caught my eye in all this legal armament is a comment made by the firm representing father Ronald Cummings:

There are questions that I would really like to have answers for. What “real” time did the Grandmother arrive with the clean clothing, and what time did she leave? And, did she see Haleigh during that visit?
Does Ron work until 3:00am every night, or was this a once in awhile, working a double?
I have heard varing statements on both.
His comments to questions, I don’t know I was working. I really heard.. “I have an alibi”, Missy doesn’t.
Since he has not been charged with any form of abuse on Haleigh or the baby boy, why did he need to hire an attorney? Or, is it because the turn in direction of the investigation? Why would he need to fear that?
I just listened to the Cobra interview on the Sky. and I am curious when this re-inactment of the crime scene was supposed to happen, it sounds like this was after Ron and Misty got married?. I truly believe Misty is the key to all this and getting her to break and tell the truth will be where the answer lies as to where Haleigh is!
The number one person i would have went after in this case if i belived Ron, would have been Joe and for some reason they did not tell police about joe for 2week’s!
If i were police that would make me very mad with ron and misty!I also wonder when Haleigh fell, how high was she did she fall face first?The harder you fall the worse it’s going to be!
And if some one hit this baby in her face again hard she may have died from it, causeing some one fear if it was found out they would lose jr!
Both ron and crystal have motive’s, if i saw my child and she had been beat up or i thought she had and children service’s would not belive me, i just might take her to if i thought her life was in danger!

LE needs to get off their can and make something happen. Perhaps a good place to start would be to arrest Misty for obstruction. Afterall, if she keeps changing or rearranging what went on February 9-10 then she needs to be sitting in a jail cell. That might make her recall a better timeline. I bet these families are covering up for each other at the sake of a precious missing child. Come on LE, break out the cuffs then you just might get the right answers and a much clearer picture.
After listening to the COBRA monologue regarding his “drinking sweet tea” with Ron, it reinforces my first thoughts that we have another Leonard Padilla on the scene.
I plead with media not to push these attention seekers on the public. Their “bombshells” are full of “things I can’t say, its confidential” and how THEY, not the police will solve this case. And solve it quickly! Gimme a break!
This Cummings case is following quickly into the Anthony Syndrome. Everyone is now getting “pro bono” lawyers and getting new outfits and hairdos and favorite psychics.
Gee, who ever thought there were so many lawyers out there with big hearts,who didn’t want to get paid?
I have said many times, I do not give heed to “experts” or tv shows or psychics or bounty hunters, who are all looking to make the almighty buck on the backs of these murdered children.
Talking heads are just that. When facts come from law enforcement and prosecutors, then I pay attention.

A short video was shown the other day on local television of Ron laughing and joking with some guy. I’ve been told you cannot expect him to be crying all the time, but it’s odd how his mother cannot stop, and he just sits next to her, never reaching out his hand to comfort her. I think his overall demeanor is similar to people who believe they have done the “right thing” by their children and that God knows they loved them. He is constantly looking in the camera saying to Haleigh “you know you will always be Daddy’s girl”. Everything he says sounds so final. He acts like a true manipulator of his family.
As to the grandmother stating she came by around 7:30 to drop off clothes, it sounds rather convenient. I hope the cops are not taking this for truth. I also believe Ron, through some family member, has some connections to the local police department.
Has anyone considered the bio-moms actions of recent? She get this lawyer, and puts forward images of alleged abuse which has documented explanation. I think we need to consider the possibility of her planting a seed here as a future defense. She could be using this to explain why she took Haleigh. (as a means of protection).
Jeff I think she took Haleigh….I have said it from the beginning…that she took Haleigh and her and her mother Marie have Haleigh hidden.
I think the bio mom is now worried that since her child went missing in that home, maybe her son is in danger as well. After all, she doesn’t know it wasn’t Ronald or Misty’s fault. I know bio mom has big issues, but so does Ronald and Misty! Big Issues. His daughter missing 31 days of school. That’s fishy. The light on in the laundry room and door open and propped. Who does that?? Inside job!!! Betcha!
George, Cindy and Lee all know what happened to Caylee - Why are they such lying conniving jerks! Parents just know and Lee knows and has said Casey did it to his parents. Get Real! All of this time volunteers wasted their time because they wanted to PRETEND Casey didn’t do this???? They definitely obstructed justice and should be punished, as well! i think the father of haleigh is a drug user and maybe he hit the child in the day light hours. he might have hit her and did not mean to so he might be lookin for a cover up. the girlfriend is scared of him she could be going along with this bogus story. noone stole her because it sounds so made up.

I knew G was very upset when immediately after LE left the site where Caylee’s remains were, they went to G and C’s house! NOT WARNED. They got the Diary which I think is very damaging.
I read in the Enquirer today at the food market they said she said she would rather kill her (mercy killing) to keep her from C.! C threatened to take Caylee from Casey. Would have been a good move. Maybe with maturity and being the “third time around” - C might have been a better “mother”.

The reason people are having trouble swallowing the story of this abduction are the facts,they make no sense on both sides of one’s belief eg..Yes it is plausible someone could bump the backdoor locks and make entry,however this would create noise and attention,but this is not the main problem ,the main problem is the close proximity of misty and the other child in the room and them not hearing a pin drop being that the perp turned on lights??I’ve never heard of a forced entry where burglars turn on lights with the home-owners home(and possibly armed)this sounds like what an intruder would do in an un-occupied burglary.I’m not drinking that kool-aid
Marianne I agree with you. The first place to start is to arrest Misty and put her in a cell alone for awhile and let her think about things. I wonder if anyone has thought of the theory that Misty was tired of seeing the kids be abused verbally and or physically if this was happening that maybe she conspired with Crystal to take Haleigh out and hide her, but eventually someone would have to come clean, however why did they not take Jr. as well. Somethings just do not add up with this whole story. And to the poster that made the comments about Casey killing Caylee to keep her away from Cindy in my opinion when Casey started lying Cindy and George should have stepped in then and took Caylee and most likely she would not have been killed.

Lorim - Last night I got to thinking about the screen door being propped open. Maybe a lot of us have a door with closing mechanisms. I could have a 5 year old child in my arms and navigate through a door without it being propped open.
However, it would be cumbersome to have two people carry something large and awkward (not nessessarily heavy) through a door. One person would be walking backwards using both hands to hold the item and the other following (using both hands).
I don’t know, I just can’t see being bothered with the job of propping open the door, unless it is REALLY a hinderance to go back (or enter) through it. This was a light screen door, not a heavy bank vault door.

on the nancy grace interview crystal says she lived in the home till 2005 3-4 yrs…she also says ron gave her drugs…he may have but with all the drug charges her own mother has, i wouldnt think ron was the first person giving her drugs…

Luckily, I just had it hosed down and curled with that special iron that can only be used on plastic. LOOKS good as new.
But, PICKLES, sorry, I don’t think anyone can do the wig justice in comparison to the lovely Ms Crystal, Misty’s cuz. She just had that special “something” that made it perfect. Maybe it was the t shirt or the amount of teeth in her mouth… not sure.

Casey’s defense team is working hard on Casey’s image but not in the way I would have predicted. I have been pondering is it just me who thinks that Casey ’smiling’ in court is despicable and why isn’t her so called high powered defense team advising her not to smile in court.

Now it makes sense as to why the Defense has allowed Casey to carry on smiling in court it is THEIR GAME PLAN. The Defense is coaching Casey to ’smile in court’ trying to give Casey Anthony emotion i.e. trying to soften Casey’s image. Is this not the most ridiculous Defense strategy you have ever seen? It’s by far the most stupid Defense stategy producing the opposite for their desired effect.
I for the life of me thought it was all too very strange i.e., the smiling in court, the laughing in court and her attorneys right there with her doing the same thing acting like it’s normal to smile when your child has been murdered and you are charged with murder.
To answer Hal’s question above: Of Course it is not doable, you cannot give emotion that is not real especially to a murderer. Whatever….the defense is making it worse for Casey and that’s fine with me.
Lee Anthony’s attorney did say that he thought it was not good at all for Casey to be smiling in court and that “her” attorneys should advise her so.
These Defense attorney’s are really sick as they are not defending Casey they are out for the Media attention and future profits it will bring. They all deserve each other Casey and her attorneys.
Where did you get that from Pickles? I would think it would only be good for her attorneys if they got M off. Not by her getting convicted. I don’t know how she can avoid at the minimum life in prison

There is nothing wrong with her ears in her school picture at all….they can’t be pointy one day and normal the next…the home pic is the one in question…on your article…

OH WOW … that’s right! Thanksgiving … ha what a great one - giving THANKS!!! ;), and Halloween, and New Year’s!!!! WOW! The beginning of a NEW YEAR! YES! What a special year this is for her. After that … just same old same old. HA probably find a new girlfriend every other month, as she did when she was out!
Isn’t her new look interesting? I don’t mean her clothes, hair, but HER. Defeated if you ask me. She is seeing her HERO get knocked down in Court on some important things, like the pictures. She is finally LEARNING WHAT IS!

Oh yes, the anniversary. I always felt she did it in a WILD RAGE - the night of the BIG BLOW UP. Wasn’t she thrown out too? But of course, G always tries to soft pedal … they left June 16th, (NORMAL DAY GOING TO WORK???). Nothing normal in that house! I think she flew out of there that night, or the very early morning of June 16.
I also feel it was PUNISHMENT for Cindy, who CMA hated (in general) and for making her KEEP Caylee, etc. I have read that people who use/need people also HATE them for being stronger and better than they are, tho they DO use them. Jealous maybe.

Haleigh’s mom’s family says ‘thanks’ with cookout for helpers
SATSUMA — For nearly six weeks, the people of southern Putnam County and elsewhere have turned out to support the search for missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. On Sunday her mother’s family wanted to give back thanks.
Hamburgers and hot dogs sizzled on a grill and side dishes stood ready for any who heeded the signs offering free food and thanks in equal portions.
The cookout also was a chance to showcase a place where those interested in the case can come to talk. Painted one of the still missing kindergartner’s favorite colors, the low purple building will serve as a center to collect information anyone may wish to share.
“Sometimes people don’t want to talk to the cops if they have skeletons in their closet,” said Connie Sheffield, Haleigh’s stepgrandmother. In the small rural community, people may know things they are reluctant to discuss.
Anyone with information about the case can come forward at the center, she said.
“We have to be cautious,” she acknowledged, “but not afraid.”
Many at the cookout early Sunday afternoon were veterans of the search for Haleigh, who vanished Feb. 10 from a mobile home where she was asleep in a room with her father’s then-girlfriend, Misty Croslin. Ronald Cummings has since married the 17-year-old.
Hundreds of law enforcement searchers and volunteers have combed woods and the nearby St. Johns River.
“We figured it would be a nice way to thank the community,” said Marie Griffis, whose daughter, Crystal Sheffield, is Haleigh’s mother.
Crystal Sheffield, who lives in Baker County, has been estranged from Ronald Cummings for several years.
Griffis said the center gives her daughter a way to focus on the investigation.
“It’s therapeutic,” she said.
Inside, there are a pair of couches, a refrigerator and tables piled high with stuffed animals. There are posters of Haleigh, including those that look out onto U.S. 17, where motorists slowed to honk and wave if they didn’t stop.
“It keeps Haleigh’s face alive,” in the minds of passers-by, Griffis said of the center.
“We’re able to keep our minds focused on finding Haleigh.”
