Satsuma Florida- Investigators in the Haleigh Cummings case searched along US 17 about 30 feet out on each side. They deny that this search has anything to do with tips. They said its just more ground to cover.
Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her father’s home in Satsuma, Florida during the early morning hours of February 10th. Misty Croslin was the only adult home, she was the last one to have contact with Haleigh before she disappeared. She has been questioned multiple times since Haleigh’s disappearance. Misty along with Haleigh’s father Ron and all the adults involved in the investigation have given polygraph tests and DNA samples.
Investigators brought in cadaver dogs to aid in the search for Haleigh but turned up nothing. A dog alerted to a dumpster at a construction site but that turned up nothing related to Haleigh either. The reward for Haleigh’s return is now at $35,000. Marie Griffis, Haleigh’s grandmother has sought out help from a spokesperson for her side of the family. The spokesperson is also going to aid Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother to find a lawyer to possibly seek custody of Crystal and Ron’s other biological child Jr., Haleigh’s younger brother.
Jr. told his mother that a man in black took Haleigh the night she disappeared. Investigators have yet to comment on that. Investigators have yet to comment on the result of the polygraph test results also. Haleigh’s father and his girlfriend are planning on marrying this afternoon. Misty says that its what Haleigh always wanted. There will be a small service with just family. Then when Haleigh returns there will be a larger celebration.
Ron and Crystal held a news conference on the one month mark of Haleigh’s disappearance. Both made heart felt plea’s for Haleigh’s return. Anyone with information regarding Haleigh or her where abouts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477)

SATSUMA, Fla. - The father of missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings has married his 17-year-old girl friend. Misty Croslin and Ron Cummings got engaged earlier this week. The wedding cake was decorated with blue flowers and the wedding dedicated to Haleigh.
“When she comes home, Misty will be ‘Mommy.’ It’s what she wanted,” said Teresa Cummings, Haliegh’s grandmother. “It’s what she wanted when she was here and when she comes home it’s what she’ll have.”
As for Haleigh’s father Ron, and his new wife Misty, getting married was the thing to do today, according to family members.
“There were things we couldn’t do. A wedding was not something we could do, because ‘Daddy’ always had to go to work and there’s no time for that,” said Teresa Cummings.
When asked if the wedding had anything to do with possibly protecting Croslin, she responded, “that’s absurd!” adding, “it is what it is … somebody came in and took Haleigh. That has nothing to do with Misty or my son.”
They are honeymooning in New York!!
One month ago, they were sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a doublewide.
Tomorrow they will be sleeping in a queen size bed in a hotel in NYC.
All it took was for a 5 year old to disappear off the face of the earth.

Who would even consider getting married when your little girl has gone missing? Wouldn’t you wait til she has been found safely first,and include her in the wedding? Sounds to me like they know a lot more than they’re telling.As for moving out of the house - if my child vanished i’d stay put just in case they returned. They KNOW Haleigh isn’t coming back.

Lorim…okay, that does it….either Crystal’s clan abducted Haleigh and that’s why Jr. was coached to blame a man in black or Misty did something. Maybe Crystal made a deal with Misty……let her “abduct” Haleigh…this would help her get custody of Jr. too. Then Misty wouldn’t have the responsibility for either of the kids anymore and would be free to “smoke” all she wants at night when Ron’s at work….no more responsibility. Maybe that’s why her story keeps changing and why Crystal coached Jr. to blame a man in black…..LE is getting close….someone is going to crack!

My theory:
Misty was not in the house like many other nights.
Crystal’s knew this was happening because someone had told them that the kids were being left alone.
Crystal’s mom Marie I believe is the ring leader. She had someone take Haleigh. Someone that Haleigh doesn’t know so she can’t Id the person as a family member.
I believe that the came in an unlocked front door, turned on the kitchen light, changed Haleigh out of the Pink Miley Cyrus shirt and into regular clothing and took her out the back door to a waiting car. They had to door propped open to run back in and grab Jr too…but ran out of time. That’s why they knew to take an inhaler and where able to get in and out without a fuss.
This would paint Ronald in a horrible light, resulting in Crystal obtaining full custody. This is probably why Crystal has retained an lawyer. And remember, the lawyer/spokesperson was at Crystal’s mother request. It makes me wonder if Crystal even knows what her mother has done.

I think we’re on the right track…Crystal’s family has something to do with Haleigh missing….I doubt she’ll be found until Crystal has gotten custody….then miraculously, Haleigh will be returned but by that time, Ron’s lost custody.
Either Misty was out with friends and that’s why her story is changing because she doesn’t want to admit she wasn’t home…OR….
She’s in on it with Crystal’s family as she didn’t want the responsibility of Crystal’s two kids and perhaps wanted to start her own love nest with Ron….and that’s why her story is changing. She’s not bright enough to keep it straight and will probably be the key to breakin’ this case wide open.
This scenario is MUCH better than the alternative that Haleigh is with some sick Chimo!

Henry examined the car, took an hour and a half lunch, looked at the car again and then had to catch a flight. He hasn’t been back since. Whoever calls him the best forensic in the business is nuts. He screwed up the OJ trial….

How does a person on public assistance even get somebody to pay for artificial insemination? I would imagine that is not a “covered benefit” under Medicaid. JMO
I don’t think m is pregnant, although her breasts looked like it.
I take care of people all the time who only qualify for Medicare or Medicaid (or both) and who have MEDICAL PROBLEMS because of teeth that need to be fixed or gum problems. Nutrition is a big deal and these people have a hard time chewing, swallowing. The only thing that possibly will be covered is pulling of teeth. Medicare and Medicaid will not pay for anything else. They can go on a waiting list for other procedures at reduced cost and the process is so involved that most give up. One lady has fixed bridges that nobody will not touch, even to remove teeth, and is suffering. And Octomom on public assistance qualified for artificial insem with 8 embryos, no father to the children in the picture? This is just weird and inconsistent.
Off to see the wizard… checking back later, hopefully for meaningful discussion without dissing anybody as we are, at heart, a good group here.

Ok…my observations of the Misty/Ron interview.
1. Didn’t look like a happy/newlywed couple…Ron kept hands folded, never put his arm around her, held her hand, etc.
2. Yes, they needed a serious wardrobe overhaul before then went on camera.
3. Misty didn’t look like she’d slept in a couple of days and her hair, well…what can I say. Obviously didn’t spend a great deal of time prepping for interview.
4. Ron through Misty under the bus when she couldn’t answer the question about her inconsistant story.
5. Misty knows more than she’s saying and will be the key to finding Haleigh.
6. Misty didn’t look 17…it just went from Ron’s Child Bride to Ron’s Baby Bride…sheesh.
7. Ron seems very angry….seemed upset with Misty….maybe a recent fight between the two (oh tell me it isn’t so….is there trouble in paradise? Already?)
8. If Ron wants the focus to be on his daughter then stop banging babies, getting married and get your butt out and search for your daughter (by the way….I DON’T think she’s in NY so get your a$$ back to Bugtussel).

This is more his opinion than mine. c was not what you would call a very supportive mother. She raised m to become a liar because m was afraid to tell her parents the truth every step of the way, about her job, about being pregnant, etc. c would call m to come home and take care of Caylee. The lying became more and more. m who was very immature was afraid to own up to anything. She loved to party and c just kept piling it on. I think m drugged her daughter from very early on.
I think KC is being tried for WHAT she did…not WHY she did it. Sure, I agree in the big picture of things, KC could be considered a victim or sorts…but Caylee being the victim of murder pushes her to the top of the list of victims in this situation…

I would love to see the defense use your described tactics to get KC off or a reduced sentence…why…because that would pit Anthony against Anthony and it would pull the whole lot of them down to the level they should be at…and probably land a number of them in jail or off that pedestal they seem to place themselves on…

The word victim is so overused. Caylee is the victim in this case. Casey is a criminal who made choices that resulted in her being a murder suspect.
She is also a thief and a liar.
She was a young healthy mother and there was no reason she couldn’t find a job and become a useful, productive member of society. She chose to steal and lie rather than become self-supporting and responsible.
Casey is just a hateful, lazy, spoiled brat who believes she is entitled to whatever she fancies, at any cost.

Tori…I agree Casey is a victim of her family and up bringing…very disfunctional…however, my mom grew up with two drunks for parents, got chased and shot at with a shotgun, got slapped around, never had a moment’s peace and guess what…she raised three children in a completely functional (by my definition), in a loving home where we were taught to be honest and to fear God. Oh, and she didn’t kill any of us.
So, yes, Casey is a victim, just as my mother was…but she had a choice…that’s something God always provides us. SHE made the choices to do the things she did i.e. lie, steal, kill…no one made her do those things and she is accountable for her actions, not those of her parents….

1. She had been drugging Caylee…now Caylee was getting old enough to talk and rat her out.
2. Caylee was in the way of her party habits.
3. Caylee was cute, funny and becoming a little person which was stealing the limelight away from Maggot which she so craves. Jealousy, plain and simple. She even broke up with Jesse because “he liked Caylee more than her”…Talk about immature…She’s like a child herself…..I wonder if she writes notes to Bobo like ” do you like me? will you be my boyfriend? Mark yes or no.
4. Her new flame didn’t want daughters…only sons.
5. Her mom was threatening to take custody and Maggot has this “If I can’t have her no one can mentality”.
6. Caylee had been her gravy train to keep Sin and Geo handing over the cash for Caylee (which she spent on herself) After running up the credit cards, stealing from the grandparents, robbing the piggy bank and stealing checks from her friends, that was about to end.
7. Sin was about to boot Maggot out on her own and she knew she didn’t have a job and couldn’t support Caylee…even if she had a job she didn’t want to “waste” any money on her child.
8. In Maggot’s world, when anything became of no further use, it was disposed of…Caylee was no different.

The bag thing was that they sent that out to get looked at in Tennessee so they didn’t have it there in FL for Dr.Lee to look at. I am guessing it was a bag with maggots etc. So BOZO was saying they purposely didn’t have it there to keep that evidence away from them.

The latest attorney to join Casey Anthony’s defense team, Todd Macaluso, has been accused of unprofessional conduct in California and is under investigation.
According to the California Bar, a complaint was filed against Macaluso in January for unprofessional conduct because he didn’t have enough money in an account to cover several business expenses totaling more than $170,000 between July 2006 and February 2007.
The investigation in California is pending.
The paperwork he recently filed in Florida seeks permission to practice law in the Anthony case.
He appeared in court in Orlando earlier this month. He told the media after a hearing that his specialty is cross-examining witnesses, especially expert-witnesses.
It looks like Baez posted for “help wanted” on craiglist.

Casey Anthony’s defense team just arrived at the State Attorney’s Office to question the deputy who was criticized for his handling of a tip in August concerning the remains of Anthony’s daughter.
Today, Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, and two other members of her defense team planned to question Cain.
Baez said the deputy may have important information about the case, though he didn’t elaborate.
The other two attorneys who are with Baez today are Linda Kenney Baden and Todd E. Macaluso.
Orange County Sheriff’s launched an investigation into Cain’s actions in August.
As of last week, the investigation was still ongoing.

Sickening isn’t the word for it. I watched the whole OJ trial and was yelling at the TV set. Two dead bodies, brutally murdered lying in a pool of blood, and the pit bull defense dream team picked a biased jury and tore apart the evidence like it never existed.

A little off topic, but I have always wondered what George and Cindy thought of the OJ trial. Everyone on earth was aware of it and seems everyone had an opinion about it. I wonder if they were outraged, or if they thought it was cool the way the defense set a murderer free.

Let’s pick this apart. Misty was hired as Ron’s Nanny. Woops there aren’t enough beds in the house, everyone will sleep together. Misty puts the kids to bed at 8, can’t remember what they are wearing. Then somewhere in that time frame, she washed a soiled blanket and dried it, came back to the bedroom and placed the blanket over Hayleigh. Misty goes to bed and wakes up, notices a light on. When does she go out for a smoke? When does she go to the bathroom?
Must be a ghost in the house, no sign of forced entry, a mysterious cement block appears out of nowhere….. alien abduction?
Why did she wash the blanket? She said pee, but maybe it was blood and why didn’t she wash the clothes that were in the laundry room along with the blanket? You don’t just wash one blanket by itself.I am starting to get more suspicious about her.

Haleigh never made it to bed that night, she never was in a pink shirt (that was probably from some previous night), and was not snatched from her bed. The story is too inconsistent. And I don’t believe any of the family members at this point as to the last time they saw Haleigh cause they are all sticking up for Misty - who is obviously changing her story and lying to police.
Whoever took Haliegh took her before bedtime, while she was still in her day clothes, and they took her essentials like the nebulizer. I want to know what else of Haleigh’s is missing? Shoes? Brush? Toothbrush? Socks? Underwear? Back Pack? Favorite Toy? How would the cops even know if this stuff is missing?
The back door is a red herring and has absolutely nothing to do with this case. The stoners left it propped open from earlier in the day, maybe forgot to lock the door, but it is all coincidence. Or Ron propped it open before they called the cops. But Haleigh was gone before all that.

(I think that CT is a state in which they do not have specific laws to cover who owns what percentage of an entertanment, movie, book deal based upon development work like states such as CA do).
I believe that the CT development firm is the “family” from CT that employs the PR firm of Todd Black.
M most likely signed the rights away to this CT firm in return for their development of her story and other favors like Todd Black. This is why Jose can say he does not have anything that allows him to broker rights. They are already sold for a big percentage in the final profit of any product. I would also bet they are investing heavily in her defense.

Heck no I wouldn’t and considering my wifes ubringing I don’t think it I’ll have anything to worry about, but then again she is her daddy’ys little. Seriously though I hope my kids turn out smarter than that and we will do our best to not let it happen.

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL — After Ronald Cummings and his new wife, Misty Croslin Cummings, appeared on The Today Show Friday morning, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office commented on what was said.
For the first time, investigators mentioned their concerns about inconsistencies with Misty Cummings’ story about what happened the night 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared.
Captain Dick Schauland confirmed Friday morning that investigators do have concerns about the timeline Misty has provided.
Schauland told First Coast News, “What happened during that eight-hour time period from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. when she found the child missing and what occurred during that time is what [investigators] are trying to straighten out.”
On The Today Show interview, Misty agreed there were inconsistencies but could not explain why.
Misty also said she felt like she was not a suspect. Ronald Cummings supported her and explained one of the lead detectives told him Misty was not a suspect in Haleigh’s disappearance.
When asked if Misty Cummings was a suspect, Captain Schauland told First Coast News Friday, “I would not list Misty as a suspect. We just want to get the timeline straightened out. Our most important thing is finding Haleigh. That’s more important than anything else. And Misty’s the key to that.”
Misty also mentioned on The Today Show that she had taken a polygraph and that she was told she passed it.
Just a couple hours later, Capt. Schauland said the agency was not releasing any information involving the polygraphs. He has said this many times. He did say however, that people who take polygraphs are “normally not told weather they pass or didn’t pass.”
He added, “I’m not talking about this case; I’m talking about polygraphs in general, but usually there’s a line of questioning and it either shows deception or to be inconclusive on question one, two or three. But it really isn’t a pass or fail thing.”

I was thinking the blanket thing is funny as well Tori & Grammy. She mentions when asked about that night, obviously washed them/it, she said blankets on the Today interview. She went into too much detail about the blanket being peed on in the earlier interview where she mentioned the white van. Something was on the blanket, used for something ( to carry a body off?? ) When someone keeps bringing up a mundane cleaning job in the midst of a missing child I’m leary or why it stands out in that persons mind. I would probably not remember washing a ‘blanket’ after my child was missing. If pressed for what I was doing I think my term would be ‘washing laundry’.

I have been following this case almost obsessively since the news broke little caylee had dissappeared back in July. The video of her reading her book to her great grandpa stole my heart, she was so wonderful and innocent, so happy. She reminded me of my daughters when they were that age. I have been watching this series of blogs that Jan and Simon host for several months, and find the comments and theories interesting. I am stunned, as you all are, that this family and this M has taken the stage over that darling child who was murdered. I stand for Caylee, not this strange, twisted family. Its obscene to me that this fiasco of a defense could actually think shes innocent and everyone involved, except the state and the police officers, seems to forget that a darling child who was murdered should be the spotlight, not her insane family. I will post more, but wanted to introduce myself.

Another thing, most of us have/had kids- they wet the bed, now Misty is saying she washed the blanket after she put Haleigh to bed at 8 pm, when did she wet the bed? Had to be night before cuz she in the one interview says she got a blanket off the window cuz hers was left in the van ( I know head spin ).
When my kids wet the bed I didn’t wait til the next night to wash it, it was thrown in the next morning. Granted when u have more bedding it’s not an issue except it smells so u go ahead & run it thru. And bedding was an issue here cuz she had to take one of the window.
So, my long drawn out point, if she wet the bed the night before why is washing it after she’s in the bed the next night, busy day??

She represents Haleigh’s biological mother, Crystal Sheffield.

I think Jr should definitely be taken from Ron and Misty, but I don’t know if he should go to Crystal - she does not exactly seem like a winner either and I think her mom is a liar. I would also be interested to know when they found out about the alleged abuse and why they waited until after Haleigh got snatched to finally do something about it.

Morning nana….Yep…Ronny baby is loosing face big time. Also a quick note….Capt. Schauland discredited Ron’s comments about whether or not Misty was a suspect, they have ruled no one out. Capt. Schauland also discredited Misty’s comment on passing a polygraph. Capt. Schauland says that it is standard procedure that no one is told if they pass or not…He goes on to say usually there’s a line of questioning and it either shows deception or inconclusive. But it really isn’t a pass or fail thing.”
You know Jr was right there when Ron was screaming his fool head off about finding someone and killing them on the 911 call. So, I don’t have any problem believing he threatened the kids, probably hit them, his temper seems completely out of control, and I would not be surprised to find out he has been abusing Misty too.
That bit about the lie detectors showing either inconclusive or deception bothers me…basically, if you agree to take a poly, it won’t clear you of anything, best result is the cops still believe you are lying, they just don’t have poly proof.

Misty is a bee-bopping teenage in love. She is probably petrified of Ron’s temper at the same time petrified of loosing him.
I also believe that if Misty was more directly involved that her mother would cover for her, possibly even help her dispose of the body.

There is an 8 hour time gap in which anything could have happened to Haleigh under Misty’s care. 7:00 was the last time anyone besides Misty saw Haleigh alive…after that who knows what happened…other then Misty herself!

I did not mean that having a HS diploma benefits marriage directly. God knows considering what they teach and don’t teach in HS I don’t think it prepares kids for the real world in any way - except schools with special classes (balancing a checkbook, parenting, skills, etc)
I meant that as a requirement before marriage it could help in a lot of ways. Girls like stupid Misty and Skank seem to hitch their wagons (futures/self-image) to men. First mistake. They never figure out who they are, never have or maybe even think of what they could do BY THEMSELVES with their lives. They seem to have to validate their existance only by being with a man. So a requirement like getting a diploma first could (1) postpone the wedding long enough to let them have some time to think about it (2) provide a practical necessity in finding a job later (3) possibly offer an opportunity to find out about a career or some other life for themselves (without a man).
Spacely, a married couple can testify against each other about anything they want to. I think the issue is whether they can be compelled by law to testify against one another. And they cannot be as far as I know.

In Florida there is a law that says a married couple can be compelled to testify against each other in specific cases which I think included child abuse or disappearance. I am gonna go look for it now.

Croslin was asked about walking out of an interview with detectives on Wed-nesday. She said a new detective was “being very rude” and accusing her of lying, so she refused to talk to him.
Both said they had passed a polygraph tests, although authorities have not released the results of tests given in connection with the case.
Croslin was given an opportunity to clarify the inconsistencies in her story of what had happened the night Haleigh disappeared.
“I put her to bed at 8 p.m,” she said. “She was in her bed, and Junior was in the bed with me. At 10 p.m., I laid down and went to sleep. I woke up at 3 a.m. and got up to use the bathroom and noticed the kitchen light was on, so I walked to the kitchen and saw the back door open. So I ran back to the bedroom to grab my phone to call Ronald, and that’s when I noticed Haleigh was gone.”

I always understood that ALL CAPS was the equivalent of yelling. Many sites request that users refrain from all caps for that reason.

mtc. Absolutely. In many cases we hear how murderers or people charged with assault have had rough childhoods and the court should go easy on them. BS. They still no right form wrong, and having a rough childhood is NO excuse for committing a crime.

I think the problem with questioning Misty is that:
1) She is not an adult, so she still has juvenile protections under the law and I would imagine the ties the cops hands to a large extent.
2) They have not charged her with a crime, so if they are using a line of questioning that would lead her to incriminate herself without having given her Miranda rights or an opportunity to bring in a lawyer and a parent/guardian could all be legally wrong and get all the testimony thrown out of a trial.
This is kind of the same problem they have with M and the interview at Universal. It may not be admissible in court because it seems clear that LE had already identified her as the main suspect in the case and questioned her as a suspect without Miranda or a chance to bring in a lawyer. In her case, I believe the cops felt Caylee might still be alive and felt it better to get the info immediately and track her down and face the court problems later. Since they are not being so forceful with Misty and the dogs hit on the dumpster, I am beginning to lose hope, but I am going to continue to believe that Haleigh is alive and will still be found in good health and will go on to live a full and happy life.

I just watched the Today show interview…when Misty tells her story she describes about 2 minutes worth of action (getting up, seeing the light, seeing the back door) and says she went to get the phone to call Ron…then noticed Haleigh was missing…and Ron says he was pulling in the drive from work right then…the reporter asks if it was 3am and both agree 3am…
WTF?!?!?!?!?! We all know he got home from work at 3:30 and Misty had not called the cops by then. What happened in the half hour? Why did she go to call Ron before she checked on the kids? Why did she not check on the kids when she got up as they are in her room? I have a pet cockatiel who lives in a cage in my bedroom and I notice if she is in there and OK everytime I get out of bed…just by looking over…by turning my head and opening my eyes…
They are both lying about everything…I no longer believe Ron about anything.

It’s OK to have sympathy for Misty, nana. She breaks my heart…so young…but all her innocence stripped away…most of it was probably her choice, but kids make such dumb choices…it’s not right her parents let her get into this situation…and I hope so much that she was not directly involved in harming Haleigh…I can see that she is manipulated by Ron…and she seems to worship him, but he treats her horribly in front of the cameras…
The biggest problem with Misty is that she doesn’t understand more than half a dozen words.

I use to have 2 cockateils Fredricka and Timothy…they were cute they came from an abused home though he had a molting issue and was highly stressed and the only words they knew was cuss words so I cleaned em up got em a new cage ect…..Taught them how to say Jesuse loves you..and other nice words then one day Timothy pecked Fredricka on the head and she died….then Timothy got loose and a friends pit bull got ahold of him and killed him

People have a misconception that they do not have to testify against their spouse but there are many, many intricacies.”

OMG Pickles, that is so sad…
I got mine from a little girl that tired of her in less than a year. Her cage had 3 inches of waste and seed husks on the bottom and two terriers would chase her around the house when the girl would take her out of the cage. She was terrified of everything for about a year and still hates human hands.
In the last couple of years, her new thing is laying eggs. I can’t seem to get her to stop, read all the books I could find, but nothing they say works. She will lay 6 or 7 at a time about every 6 months and sit on them for about 4 weeks, poor thing is too dumb to know they will never hatch.
