Sastuma Florida- The home of Haleigh Cummings that has been taped off for weeks now has been released back to her father Ron Cummings. Her father Ron says that he wont be staying there knowing that his child was taken from her bed. The crime scene tape was taken down today. Searchers continued there search through wooded areas. Cadaver dogs are still searching around her home and the woods surrounding Haleigh’s home.
Thursday a cadaver dog alerted to a construction site dumpster but no evidence was found. A man from Jacksonville Bryan Selzer is helping in the search for Haleigh. He said “We’re just doing a different area today. We’re hitting mostly the wooded area that we are searching again, we are searching that for the second time to make sure that everything covered”
There are seven cadaver dogs searching for missing Haleigh. They searched the neighborhood that Haleigh lives on Thursday but came up empty handed. Bryan Selzer stated, “Going through the woods is more difficult then it looks. It just takes a lot longer, we have to take more breaks more often for the dogs to recover. But it’s a do-able, just takes longer.” The cadaver dogs are sniffing underneath mobile homes where the paneling is. They are checking if a body was placed underneath any of the local residents homes. The canine searcher teams are from Canine South out of South Georgia.
They will be searching until the end of Friday. Misty Croslin is reported to of been taken in for more questioning. She was the last one to see Haleigh on Friday when she put her to bed. Haleigh was at home asleep with her brother Jr. and Misty Croslin when she went missing.
Haleigh’s family released a short video of Haleigh and her little brother Jr. opening presents on Christmas last year. The video is only 41 seconds long. They are hoping it will help generate valuable tips on Haleigh’s where abouts. Jr. Haleigh’s little brother says that a man in black took Haleigh.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIf there’s a body to be found and I say IF, it could be doubled bagged and placed somehwere and then was moved to another location. I can understand why the searchers are back tracking. I used to work in law enforcement and we knew that the best place to hide something is a place that’s already been searched. I hope when LE went looking in those sex offender’s homes they also checked the trunk of their vehicles. I still am praying Haleigh will be found safe.
I work in law enforcement. If you worked in law enforcement in the past then you know that they would be watching everyone very carefully since the beginning for exactly what you mentioned (the potential of hiding something in a place that has already been searched). So, I think that is unlikely. They are wrapping up their investigation - they are reviewing, crossing their i’s and dotting their t’s - proof reading the area, so to speak. Other than tips, they are completely out of leads and don’t know anymore today than when they first began.
I was a bit surprised after looking at Crystal’s MySpace….from the songs she has downloaded on her site…she has given up hope on Haleigh.
I don’t mean to be nasty here…but why would a mother have some of the crap on her internet space that she has, when such a devestating thing has happened to her daughter..(IMHO)
Why did it take so long to bring in the dogs? Why are they not scouring landfills??????????

i have a myspace page right now. mine doesn’t really have anything i think anyone would consider inappropriate, but i may post a funny picture on there or something, or a joke.
so…..if something happened to one of my children next week(god forbid) i’d hate to think that i would be judged for some joke i put on my page before i ever dreamed of anything happening. actually, i’m smart enough to have my page set to private….if i was all over the national news, i’d definitely have it private. but you get my point….just because those things are on her page doesn’t mean she’s been sitting around working on it since this happened.
I really hate to say it but law enforcement makes mistakes they are only human. Just like the case of the 11 yr old girl from florida they could have saved her life if they would have just open the closet door! Saved her from being buried alive! Why would u not check a sex offender’s bedroom closet in the same trailor park as the missing girl! If God forbid one of my children ever came up missing I would check all the neighbors houses first, most of the time thats exactly where these children are. I hoped they did just that.
I also wonder about the cavader dogs hitting on that dumpster, because in the case of the 11 yr old florida girl the dogs kept hitting that trailor where the girl was but they ignored it because they had already searched it and thought the dogs were wrong!
So I wonder if they searched under the dumpster she could have been buried under it, if the person happed to work at that construction site he knew they were brining in the dumpster and buried her there b4 they brought it. Its a long shot.. but Im sure its something they have checked out She could have been in there b4 and it has been dumped since. I hoped they checked out all the guys that work at that site the dogs getting a hit there may have not lead to a body.. but it could be a sign of someone around there is worth checking into.
There should be more we can do to protect children from these freeks! What good does just registering them do? Go ahead and put tracking devices on their ankles too keep them in prison longer… they ruin childrens lives after being molested, they should spend most of there lives in prison too.
A fox have you ever heard of the serial abductor from Alabama Shannon Nicole Paulk and Melissa Dean, and Heaven Ross. They are believed to of been abducted by a man who works in construction. All them girls were taken from trailer courts in low income settings….Each one…THe only difference is Haleighs age and the time of year. There was construction going on nearby each of the 3 disappearences. I dont know if its related but it makes me wonder!

with you makes me wonder too. Alot of construction workers travel around from place to place staying in hotels around where they work could be easy for them to do that and slip out of town to the next job. As soon as I heard about this construction dumpster thats the first thing that came to my mind.

I wonder if they ever found the missing 25yr old sex offender that lived a county away from haleigh, the police were looking for him, he is a registered sex offender after he broke into a trailor in the middle of the night to molest a little girl in the same county that haleigh lives in! I was sure that was the guy when I heard those facts sounds too familar. Then the fact that he was missing and wasnt were he was suppose to be made him even more suspicious.
There should be so much more we could do to protect our children from these monsters. What kind of person could just come in your home and think they could just take your child away to do as they please. Where do these monsters come from? Why do we let them get away with it more than once? Anyone who is a threat to our children should be taken seriously and not ever have the chance to do it again!
I agree totally….I havent heard if they found the Chad Eugene I think his name is the abductor who went MIA 9 days before Haleigh disappeared….He was getting ready to face a 10 yr prison sentence for that molestation crime so I think he bailed…the pretty little child molester dont want to be de-flowered (if ya catch my drift) in prison so he went on the lam..I just hope he didnt do that to Haleigh…ughhhh…Your daughter sounds beautiful!

I wouldn’t wish this horror on anyone.
What you put on a web site for your everyday life; jokes , statements , pictures….fine, but when we have children being abducted and sick sex preditors out there, IMHO, bad language, obscene pictures and statements do nothing to help curb these whack-o’s appetites for our children. Why do people seem to think that by swearing and posting obscene items makes their lives so much more appealing. Not a good roll model for a 5 yo child would ya say?
