The actions taken by Bart are so horrific that
they do indeed seem like fiction. It was hard
to focus on such violence.

I don't believe for one minute that Bart has
changed. He is just a good actor and has taken advantage of his father one more time. That does not mean that I want him to be executed.
I am strictly against capital punishment. Also,
if prisoners to be executed are actually kept in
10' x 6' cells 24 hours without talking to anyone, seeing anyone, no TV, no telephone,
unable to see their families, SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE. This is meant by the Justice System to
be punishment. They don't need that inasmuch as
they are going to be executed anyway. That comes under inhumane treatment.

I feel so sorry for Kent, a really good man. I,
too, am a Christian but we do not see the nature of God the same way. My son died at the
age of 24 of cancer. I certainly don't blame
God for that. Also, I can't think of anything
good which came because of his death. I don't
think I could worship that kind of god. The
God I know is one of love. I wish that I could
get Kent to read THE WILL OF GOD by Leslie
Westherhood or any book by Philip Yancy.

May God have mercy on the Whitaker Family.

I as well could not believe this was a true story. I first heard about this book on Oprah, and the next day I was trying to buy it, along with many others I guess!
I need to learn forgiveness, but nothing as traumatizing such as this happened to me.
I have learned a lot from Kent Whitaker. Anything is possible, and if Kent can do it, why can't we?
