Sean Krause was our friend, it somehow seemed a fitting way to laud his achievements by hosting a radio show about him. But it was with a heavy heart that I scheduled the show. My wife Jan spent the entire afternoon in tears. Somehow in the few months that we had known Sean he had woven his way into our hearts. We never met him, we knew him from email, phone calls, and his time spent with us on the radio.
Jan told me yesterday that some of Sean’s fans, yes he had fans, were planning to light candles at 8pm EST today. I don’t know why, but I said, ‘lets to a radio show, an opportunity for those people to share their thoughts’.
We did the show, not only did we have his fans, but his friends and family as well. Everyone had something to say about this rambunctious young fireball.
His sister in law Maria called in to assure us all that Sean’s web site thedailybs is being put back online and that she and fellow writer Rickilynn will be continuing Sean’s dream. Anyone that knew Sean knew his passion for this web site.
Not all of the show was downbeat, David Lohr of Discovery certainly introduced some humor with his tale about linking to thedailybs, or rather the reasons not to.
Jan offered a few short comments, all the while I was watching the tears falling down her face. In fact she spent the entire show crying, yet laughing at the stories being told.
Our good friend Pickles also shared her thoughts, Pickles likely knew Sean as well as any of us at Blogger News.
Sean’s friend Barbie who he met through the Caylee Anthony case shared her thoughts, as did Sean’s brothers Joe and Eugene.
We had lots of other callers as well. Sean Krause may have only been 25 years old, but he certainly has left his mark!
This is the first time I have ever done an unscripted radio show. I had no idea what would happen, but everything happened just the way it should.
Sean it is hard to say goodbye. You will forever be in our hearts. I will offer some sage advice though, rumor has it that you might want to temper the language a little where you are now. However us mere mortals can continue in our earthly ways. I’ll leave this article with a Sean Krause quote, one that our friend Pickles seems to particularly like:
Go F*ck yourself Jose Baez
You can listen to the entire show here.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackSimon and Jan….what a wonderful thing you did devoting a show honoring Seans memory. I was touched by the words spoken about this unique man and the impact he had on many.
I lost the love of my life and best friend, Tom, to cancer last Nov. He was my husband for 39 yrs. Someone said (can’t remember who) said (about Sean)..
“His mission was over”.
I believe that! We are here I believe for a purpose and when that purpose has been completed, and we have learned the lessons we need here on earth, we are taken and welcomed back home….where we came from.
I miss you Tom. And Sean, you are already missed by thousands.
May you both live happily and pain free now. Your suffering is over. You will live in our hearts forever.
Thank you for allowing me to participate and share my love for dear Sean. He was such a vibrant soul, and well loved by many. Certainly a character to be remembered - for his humor, his colorful personality, and most of all, his courage in the face of adversity. May he be free of pain now, and know that his life was well lived, his mission well done, and his love well shared. We love you Sean, and we will never, ever forget you !
I have a small, rather subtle button that says FIGHT BULL SH*T! Maybe some of you would like to have some made and wear them - honoring Sean? I can tell you about mine, if anyone wants to know.
Sean Krause - defender of the Children.
What a wonderful, formidible fighter. He will continue his mission up there, and be a great friend and comfort to Caylee.
Heartbroken. <3
The intensity and integrity that Sean allowed to flow from his heart and into his writings and words will be forever a part of the legacy he has left to us.
That he could invoke such a fire with his words, and follow them thru with such a passion towards the truth are just some of the traits that made him so remarkable of a man.
Sean never let his illness, nor the stigma that having cancer creates on those of us who fight this messed up disease influence his work. It was just a battle, and not the war.
Instead he spent his effort and energies in bringing the light of truth to bear on the injustices and abused he encountered. He tempered it all with his own humor and unique style.
The bravery and courage he showed are something to aspire to, and all who were touched by his spirit are blessed by the spark that was Sean.
Thank you for your ’spit and fire’ and the laughter you shared with us Sean!
I pray for many blessings and strength for his family, friends and those who appreciated his writings during this time of his passing from us.
simon&jan, beautifull show i also cryed with the beginning and ending music..i never knew sean personally just on bnn it always bothers me when someone so young and so mutch to offer passes away, i suppose god has his reasons, peace and blessings to seans family and the thought of him up in heaven with caylee makes thinking of his passing just a little easier..AMEN~anna
It is obvious that Sean connected with people regardless of regardless their point of view. Sean was very confident in his beliefs and was not afraid to voice it. People respected him for that. I did not know Sean, but listening to the people that did, I wish I had. He is in a better place now, and the man upstairs has a new soldier. RIP Sean.
I have a lot of experience in web design and visual graphics, if there is any thing I can do to help out with the dailybs let me know. I’d be pleased to do whatever I can.
All Things Bright And Beautiful Hymn
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all
The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one;
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all
The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows for our play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day;
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
So sorry for your loss, Simon and Jan and everyone else who knew Sean.
I’m so sorry. Peace be with you, Sean.
[…] As most of you know, Sean Krause will not be joining us, he lost his valiant battle with cancer this week. He may be gone, but he is far from forgotten, and I am sure that Sean will be a subject discussed. In case you did not know about Sean’s passing, we did a special program to celebrate his young life, a good friend lost, yet a good friend that will be remembered forever. […]
I didn’t know anything about Sean, other than his connection to the Caylee case. I had no idea he was so young, as he sounded older with a wisdom, compassion and intelligence I would have attributed to a more seasoned writer. His dynamic life force showed through adament opinions and a sense of purpose that drew attention to him sooner than most. I wanted to know more about him; his background, education, and other influences that created such a force. Perhaps he knew his time was short and that is why he shown so brightly and will last in our memories. RIP, Sean, you made a difference in this world.
