Stiletto

Tales of revenge always make good fodder for movies.  There is killing, there are good people, there are bad people and there are usually the action movie staple, good bad people.  Audiences love a conflicted character, whether it’s a woman who chooses family over love or a cop who’s dirty but trying to get clean.  Now there’s a movie which has both of those characters and it’s ready on DVD right now.

Starting this March 3rd, now available on DVD from Tin Res Entertainment and First Look Studios comes a tale of mobsters, gorgeous women and deadly revenge.  Stiletto is ready to stab right through your television screen and bring a whole word of backroom deals and plot twists on top of your head.  Bring home this fantastic action film today!

Raina is a beautiful and deadly Russian immigrant who was the mistress of Greek mob boss Virgil Vadalos.  Yet she believes that Vadalos had something to do with the torture of her sister and so, armed with a massive stiletto knife, she sets off to kill him and everyone else who gets in her way.  Vadalos is attacked and manages to survive and brings in his former lieutenant with his crazy new bride and a dirty cop he managed to leverage years ago.  It all builds to an incredible confrontation as everything grows more and more twisted. This film stars Tom Berenger, Michael Biehn, Stana Katic, Paul Sloan, William Forsythe, D.B. Sweeney, James Russo and Tom Sizemore.

The special features included in this DVD are Dolby Digital Surround Sound, English and Spanish Subtitles and previews of other offerings from First Look Studios.

I had no idea Stana Katic looked so good.  Even more so, I had no idea that this movie would be so good.  It was far above par when it comes to an action movie released through a small studio.  Some of the special effects were better than ones you see in a Steven Seagal movie and the plot twists, although rather commonplace, were still well hidden and worth waiting for.  Tom Berenger, who I have hated ever since his character in Platoon, is good in this role, although he is far too kindhearted to be an actual mob boss.  I know that when most people would take a look at the idea of this movie, they think it would turn out sub-par.  Yet I am genuinely pleased with how this movie turned out and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and dirty action fix.  So if that’s you, here’s your trick.

This Stiletto stabs deeply and you’ll enjoy every second of it.
