But I have to agree with PETA. Although Travis's owner looked at him as a 'son'.. a human son. He was not, and would never be. Chimps are not house pets.. I understand that his owner is distraught over the situation, but her behavior should have been curtailed along time ago. I love animals, but I think keeping a 'wild animal' out of its own habitat should be illegal. My heart goes out to the women mauled by this chimp. In actuality it was not the chimps fault.. I really blame society for allowing these sorts of animals to become house pets. People should NOT be allowed to own such animals. I saw an Animal Expert interviewed on TV and he said a Chimp can be one of the most vicious of all animals, as we have learned, the HARD way. He is very afraid of Chimps. When they get to the age, or a point, where they feel they want to show that THEY are the top male, the Alpha figure, they can and have killed their fathers, brother chimps, etc. Sometimes a situation can trigger this! He was acting totally normal for a Chimp, which proves they don't belong living with humans. CT should CHANGE it's LAW. Why doesn't the public know this? Experts know. It takes THIS for us to LEARN?
