The Mystery of the Easter Chipmunk

I like holidays, but I find the idea of decorating for them to be quite strange.  What’s the point of buying something you can’t display year round?  Where are all those boxes of stuff going to go?  Maybe that’s why Americans have way too much junk – we are just too festive.  I think the reason goes far deeper than that, but now there is a brand new holiday themed collection ready for you on DVD.

Starting this February 10th, now available on DVD from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment and Bagdasarian Productions comes a holiday tribute to colored eggs and those zany chipmunks.  Alvin And The Chipmunks – The Mystery Of The Easter Chipmunk is ready to hop of the bunny trail and right into your living room with five classic episodes worth of fun and hilarity.  Bring home this delightful holiday collection today!

The central issue in this new collection has Alvin, Simon and Theodore working hard to solve a mystery at the Happy Farms Resort.  It turns out that their grandfather just might have been the original Easter Chipmunk and, through a whole lot of musical numbers and even more mischief, they arrive at the answer.  Other episodes on this disc include some fun in the snow, an homage to St. Patrick’s Day and a whole lot more!  This collection features five classic episodes – “The Easter Chipmunk,” “Snow Wrong,” “Special Kind Of Champion,” “Thinking Cap Trap” and “Luck O’ The Chipmunks.”

In something which pains me every single time one of these Alvin And The Chipmunks DVDs comes out, there are no special features included.  Even having one new special feature on each DVD would make a world of difference and tip this series from good to great.

All of these episodes are completely hilarious!  I expected them to be funny, but even my expectations were shattered with just how great these shows are.  The fact that Paramount Studios Home Entertainment and Bagdasarian Productions have been released episodes from deep in the vaults lately and look to continue doing so for quite some time is one of the things in home entertainment to be truly excited about.  I’m not sure just how many episodes remain in that vast catalog of chipmunk fun, but it has to be a whole lot and that’s exciting news, whether you’re collecting them for your kids or for your own retro television desires.  It’s a winner either way.

Solve this Mystery with a healthy helping of fun!
