There is only one people that lived in the land of Kanaan before the Hebrews and that is the Kanaanites, and most modern Jews are the only decedents of those Hebrews/Israelites. Israel is the only sovereign kingdom/State that has ever existed on that land that people now call Palestine, just because Arabs living in Palestine are now called Palestinians doesn't mean they are the indigenous people there, there are no remaining indigenous people of Palestine. The Jews have been living on that land for over a thousand years before the Arabs showed up, and there has been Jews living there ever since.
