The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) has announced that it will be holding its fifth Annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference on March 28, 2009. According to reports the conference for this year will be held at the Manhattan Beach Marriott in Manhattan Beach, California.

Since 2004, ADAO has been striving to educate people about the dangers of asbestos, and provide advice and assistance to consumers. One of the co-founders of the organisation, Linda Reinstein, has also been involved in asbestos conferences in other parts of the world, including Tokyo, London, and Amsterdam.

Amongst the things that will be discussed at the conference are the impact of asbestos exposure, both within the United States and also on a global basis. The event will be attended by a range of officials and professionals in the field, including expert physicians, scientists, and others.

Asbestos is a potentially deadly substance that can cause a range of health problems through long term or high levels exposure, and this includes respiratory problems, scarring of the lungs, and a deadly form of cancer known as mesothelioma.
