Well it was certainly a lively 60 minutes. It was great to have Sean Krause back on the panel, he has been a sorely missed asset for the past 3 weeks. Sean is undergoing some health problems but they certainly did not show up today!
Joining us on the panel was Dennis Griffin, an author and all around interesting guy. His specialty is books about the mob, and organized crime, in fact he freely admits that three of his five best friends are ex mobsters. Now I brag frequently about having ‘friends in low places’ but Dennis has me beat hands down.
Of course my lovely wife Jan was also on the panel, she has become the encyclopedia on the Caylee Anthony story for Blogger News Network.
This was an interesting week in the Caylee Anthony case. Grandfather George Anthony remains under supervision following an abortive attempt at suicide, the big question is if this is a call for help, or yet another ploy engineered to garner sympathy in the case. Meanwhile rumors abound about the less than stellar defense star Jose Baez, he has assembled a ‘dream team’ of experts, all of who are doing this work Pro Bono. In regular speak, they are working for free! Well, many people wonder about this Pro Bono idea, and I am certainly one of the most suspicious. Is Jose Baez working on a movie deal? Certainly it is a subject mentioned by credible sources. But, would even the most ‘ambulance chasing’ sleaze ball lawyer consider risking their license over a movie deal?
I do want to apologize to those loyal listeners who tune in every week and had a problem with finding the ‘Listen Live’ button on our web site. Due to an ‘upgrade’ by Blog Talk Radio, that button is no longer available. You will be happy to know that I have complained! And I will complain again!

It doesn’t seem like very long ago that M was given 30 days to respond to ZG’s defamation lawsuit, is anybody here familiar with the time line on that case and when it will reappear in court?
If BB wants M to look a certain way in court, is it possible for him to have her dress in something other than her jailhouse outfit? On TV shows with trials, very often a male defendent is allowed to dress in a suit and tie, for example.
Another thing I am wondering about (which maybe people on this blog know)….BB at one time demanded details about the cadaver dogs that were used in the investigation. He wanted to see documentation showing the dogs’ standard of training, wanted to establish uniformity in the way the different dogs alerted to a human decomposition smell, and had other questions bringing into question the validity of the dogs’ conclusions.
Assuming that the murder trial is going to take place in July, what other court appearances will M have to make before that time?
I have been wondering about Lee, if he still has a girlfriend and a job, and if he moved back in with his parents.
I have also been wondering what will happen to C and G if their home goes into foreclosure due to their unemployment and, frankly, unemployablity.
Anybody have any comments or info to share? I want to apologize if anything I said has been offensive, as it was not meant in that way.

lulu i thought that some had asked if le was going to dig up anthonys backyard in pretence the dogs hit on it earlier on. my thought was when they arested casey didnt le place the anthonys home as a crime scene and why wouldnt they dig up the yard at that point? after they took casey into custody/

Lulu, I’m not sure but I think a defendant dresses in street clothes when there’s a jury involved. I think for appearances in front of a judge, they always wear their jail house garb.
Not sure what other appearances M has to make before any actual trial begins but didn’t a judge rule the other day that she MUST appear at all the proceedings? It seems a smart move to lay down the rules so M knows SHE is not in control & can’t later claim she didn’t know what was going on. And it’s smart NOT to allow BB to play games in hopes of getting his client a mistrial.

I think we were all surprised LE didn’t search the Ant’s backyard thoroughly. I suppose they had good reason to believe Caylee’s body was NOT buried there.
One thing I NEVER understood is why they never used cadaver dogs INSIDE the house?! Was Caylee killed at the house OR did M kill her while she waited for George to leave for work & then go back to the house when the coast was clear?
I think Caylee will be buried soon. I have a feeling THAT might be what pushed George over the edge this weekend.
If it’s really true that M is in ‘control’ of when Caylee’s funeral can take place, then to me it PROVES that BB has almost no influence on her.
A loving mother should be insisting that her poor little baby be laid to rest. It’s clear that M is not finished punishing her family & making them suffer. I don’t think she’ll be satisfied until BOTH her parents are dead.
As far as wondering how the Anthonys are paying their bills, it has occurred to me also. If nobody there is working, then I am led to believe that funds are being used from some means and maybe one means is the donations made to aid in the search. Nobody has disclosed what went with the funds and I know there were lots of donations. Also, as far as the pro bono defense team, well, I was not born yesterday and if I was, I’ve had a day to think about it! No such thing! Someone is paying these people, the large question is who it is. You will never convince me different, they just do not perform for nothing. Another thought is that Cindy drove George to near suicide by asking him to pick jewelry for Caylees funeral? How gross is this? There is no body, only skeletal remains and what does she intend to do other than drape jewelry over the little bones? Good Lord, give us a break! Just go ahead and bury the little girl and leave the hoopla out of it. It is too late now Cindy! What could have been done for her is a thing of the past and nothing will bring that back to you. Just do a memorial service for the poor little baby and let us heal from all this. All the denial in the world did no good for you or the public who grieve for Caylee. This part can become a sort of closure in that we know she is finally given the resting place she is entitled to and not in a field being scavenged by animals. If there are no funds for a funeral, I would imagine that any local funeral service might donate that for Caylee. I know that it would be done here in High Point, NC! It has been done here and will again so I am sure some kind hearted funeral director would do that out of the goodness of the heart in this case. It is time to stop this nonsense and get on with this trial, stop catering to the Anthonys and do what is right. Casey is a spoiled brat,and thinks she will continue to get her way and even if she does on the face of this earth, she has to meet her maker and he will deal with this in his way. George is the only one here who seems to have a bit of heart in his body and he is under the heaviest of stress. Even saying early on that he hoped that he did not produce one who would do something so hideous, he has that feeling and has been shushed by Cindy all this time. Anyone wants to protect their child, most of us anyway but can we uphold them when they have murdered their own child? We uphold them when they are right, we love them when they are wrong but murder is another whole issue. It is time for some changes to be made in that sick family and I just hope this trial is done quickly and justly for Caylee.

As for the funeral, there were funds left from the the donations ( that word goes hand in hand w/ ant’s ) for ‘help find caylee’, remaining funds were to be for a funeral.

I too think that Caylee will get her funeral soon. Hence the looking for jewelry.
I read that George is still in the hospital.
Always thought that his almost daily drives pulling that bill board was a good excuse to get out of that nuthouse in order to maintain his sanity. He could not do that anymore ofcourse after Caylee was found.
As to jewelry, since the Ants want to cremate Caylee, that could be special cremation jewelry for them to hold a small amount of Caylee’s ashes. Brooches and pendants that hold a small sealed cavity are commonly used for that purpose.
Also there is a video link stating that George’s recovery depends upon having a funeral for Caylee. Conway claims he’s going to get on that tomorrow morning.
I’m glad something reminded Conway that he needs to look into getting the funeral underway!
Wonder if Bozo ever did get the credentials of the two cadaver dogs. I presume each dog has much more experience in his job (especially in dog years) than Bozo as an attorney with three years experience.
BTW, names of the dogs are Gerus and Bones.I especially like the second name for a cadaver dog but then I do have some odd sense of humor sometimes.

Everything with the Defense team is kept so quiet, yet they DEMAND every single little tidbit the Prosecution has. I think their autopsy was finished and kept secret for about a week, then we all found out.

If Jose and his magical team of defense experts can’t release the remains, they should at least have the decency to explain why. The prosecution didn’t take a month. I think it is deplorable to delay a funeral to protect a murderer.
One of the reasons why Bozo and cohorts still have not released the remains, could be because the defense is still waiting for more forensic evidence/test results to be released by LE/FBI.

I wonder if there are any laws in Florida stating how long remains are allowed to be held by a funeral home before either burial or cremation? Any health department regulations on that? Anybody here know? I presume it cannot be an indefinite amount of time AND somebody has to pay for each day the remains of little Caylee stay in the care of the funeral home, it is not free.

Law enforcement may be waiting on tests, but Baez had access to the remains since December. I thought he wanted to do his own tests with his own experts. It seems unlikely that the actual remains are going to provide more evidence that the two most vested teams have already found.
If the defense team can’t find the forensic evidence they need on their own they should quit the case. They have had ample opportunity to conduct any test they needed.
thats what i remember reading that sometime today. i was caught ofgard emotionaly about that. it just saddens me to no end that anybody could do this to a child and not give a decent burial.

All the defense has to do is show with reasonable doubt that M did not do the crime. It does not have to pose alternate scenarios or point a finger at another perpetrator. Finding Caylee’s body does not show that M did the crime, and the evidence they have (duct tape, stuff from the house, etc.) could be a set up to frame M…it looks to me like she is guilty from everything we know, but just keeping in the back of my head how the trial may try to be directed by defense.
Other BOMBSHELLS could be that Elvis shows up to admit he is babysitting the real Caylee, and the skeletal remains that were found were those of a secret identical twin that was separated from Caylee at birth. Not only that but BOMBSHELL, M is really an alien in disguise who has come to earth to confuse people and distract the world so that the other aliens can sneak in here and take over the planet.

If Casey is the one not permitting the release of the remains, there should be a statute of limitations on her input. She shouldn’t have the right to dictate when the body will be released. I think she has lost her right as a former parent by virtue of involvement.

Gina, you don’t mean “statute of limitations.” That would be how long you have to accomplish a lawsuit or claim from an event’s inception.
We are talking about a Health Department regulation governing the length of time between a death and the disposition of the body. The funeral home, to be licensed, would have to comply with that regulation (if there is one). And, as stated, every day Caylee is in the funeral home there is an additional charge that SOMEBODY has to pay! Imagine, if nobody can pay from the family, perhaps the County has to perform a pauper’s burial?

Gina, the Statute of Limitations I believe has to do with the time frame in which one must FILE a Law Suit. Often, it’s within 2 years… but it does vary, I am sure for many reasons. State, type of law suit, etc.

Back to the question of the ant’s finances, I think a mortgage (e.g. remaining balance, if there is a lien or second mortgage) is a matter of public record that easily can be researched if the County has an online data base. If any of us bloggers are in the real estate profession they will know how to do this.

I think the country would have felt sorry for, and helped the anthonys if they didn’t play their games. Who wouldn’t feel sorry for a couple with a mad daughter, and a wonderful cute little missing grandbaby? But as this thing unfolded, they were not just a nice couple with a nutty/sick daughter. Many dark layers there I think, Lee is one - a big one I think. THEY were very close. She fought and was estranged from her father. HATED her mother and still obviously does!! You could see and FEEL the incredible level of pain in Cindy, tho hopefully none of us have ever experienced that. That is NOT an official trial date, just his estimate. So, really, no one knows when the trial will begin.
He also answered a question about burial with the answer..”probably February”

I think, perhaps, Brad Conway is going to file a motion with the court that C & G be declared available next of kin, since M is incarcerated and unable to attend to the disposition of Caylee’s remains. This would be the only legitimate way the Ants could have any input on when the memorial will be held, or that one will be held.
We know that a memorial for Caylee is not high on the list of priorities for M, because, well, it is ALL ABOUT HER.
Because M has only been accused of this heinous crime, not convicted, it is more difficult to circumvent her rights, as the parent/next of kin, to determine disposition of the remains. Therefore, the decision will not be the Ants, unless, of course, M has signed a release of the remains to them or their representatives.

You know my child got into trouble and went to jail. The state of florida delivered my grandson to me. Yes is did the not my child did not do anything, stupid parent thing. Then I went to court found out just how stupid I was. But it help her to change, and it made her a better mother to her son. She is trying to make up the lies she told me. To get back what she lost with me. Trust is hard to get back when you lose it. So I in a way understand where the Ant are coming from, when you have been lie to for so long it has to be right in your face to beleave it. I just know how they feel.
Fox news is reporting the following this morning:
Jose Baez, an attorney for Casey Anthony, filed the motion late Friday afternoon. Someone also did a search for the word “chloroform” on a computer in a home where Anthony lived, and trace amounts were found in her car.
Baez wants prosecutors’ information about ex-boyfriend Ricardo Morales, who has been questioned by detectives at least twice. The ex-boyfriend allegedly posted a picture on MySpace that showed a man and woman with the title “win her over with chloroform.”
Morales told detectives he posted the picture on his MySpace page around the beginning of 2008, before someone searched for “chloroform” Anthony’s home computer.
I was reading that they said he was never in the ant house, and he was not with her anymore after May 08. That is just BB looking for another goat.

you know giving some one chloriform is not an easy thing to do. my friend across the street said that when you cloriform someone they fight it is not easy thing to do. If she did cloriform this child she would have really been fighting to have this removed from her face.
my friend was a nurse and she just turned 82 and said she remember when they used cloriform. She said it was not pretty.

yes they are done with the second autopsy. But BB is the one that is holding up them putting this little girl to rest. In one of BC press release he said that he was really tried of all the delays he has run into, he really wanted this child to be at peace. It was not the Ant holding this up, they were upset it was not already done.

So I read this morning that G is ready to live again but needs the closure that only Caylee’s burial will bring about. This was followed by:

I swear, C was hoping to push him over the edge; hoping he’d be in a straight jacket, unable to tell the truth at trial. If she loved that man, she would be using her pushy, bitchy, control-freak ways to get that body from whoever has custody of it, and get it buried!
Of course he is going to get out without having a meaningfull conversation with anyone…its all a bunch of bs…all of it just a diversion from the evidence files released..

Yes it is strange it took 31 days to call the fuzz regarding Caylee’s dissapearance and only a matter of hours when gee disappeard…I think its odd but that family does anything and everything for attention

Anyone connected even remotely with M should strongly consider moving to Timbuktu!How incredibly sad.We can,however be delighted with the fact that the monster has to appear at all court hearings from now on. Of course she will however see this as an opportunity to make google eyes at Bobo and with all his various request for hearings she will have to leave her cozy one room jail apartment many times.

George and Cindy Anthony hope to set the burial of granddaughter Caylee Anthony this week, attorney Brad Conway told NBC’s “Today” Monday morning.
It makes me sick. They all know how to dial 911 without fear of authority when it suits them. Even Casey called 911 when she was concerned about protesters throwing pebbles or whatever at her garage door. She lost her “fear of the unknown” that time.
Yesterday Conway was quoted as saying he would “deal” with the issue of the burial this morning. I guess he had to do it on tv for maximum exposure.
Whether George’s getaway was really for suicide or not doesn’t matter. It is just another ongoing episode in this soap opera.
Who could blame him for wanting to get away from it all? Get away from that witch he lives with? Get away from all reminders that his little granddaughter was murdred and tossed away like each week’s trash?
By the amount of pills he reportedly took and the few notes he wrote, seems to me his actions were more of a “STOP THIS NIGHTMARE” statement. It’s apparent that he didn’t have much say in most decisions made from day one and this might have been his moment to say.. “listen to ME”.
People who are really at the end of their rope just DO it. They don’t go all day sending texts and driving around. Even if he was trying to build nerve to do it, he had almost a whole day.
I’m not saying he wasn’t totally depressed and didn’t know where to turn, I just think if he really wanted to be DEAD, he would be.
Lets remember, he was admitted on a Friday, today is Monday. I know much isn’t done in mental health screening areas over the weekend. So, he will probably come home with medications and a recommended Psychiatric regiment. BUT.. as long as he goes back to that lunatic house, he will be right back where he was.
Even with all this going on, do we think Casey would ask to see her father? What would Baez be telling her so that she didn’t see George? She better get used to her visits being filmed. When she goes to prison, I”m sure there are even stricter rules. I HOPE!

My prediction is that they will wait to announce exactly when Caylee’s burial will be until after the next evidence release, probably the next news cycle.
Then, it will be set about a week + away, and will be “delayed” until the day after the following evidence release, again to unfocus the news reporting from the actual evidence.

my youngest was mixed up in drugs - so is her 6 time felon of a boyfriend. (yup 6 times.. drug charges) She has a 2 1/2 baby girl.
(light of my life). It took DCFS, twice to come in before she eventually
straighten up.. she is now back home living. Boyfriend was in drug
rehab for 3 months. So far, they are doing good.. but if I see ONE
problem arising.. her baby is gone.

You are right, Pickles. KC still has custody. So, this announcement by the Ant lawyer is just more bs to eat up news airwaves, when those of us following this case would prefer to see more reporting and analysis of the released evidence.
I just listened to yesterday’s BNN radio show and found some interesting points but I would like to make a suggestion regarding something that has been bothering me with almost every show. Some callers tend to have their PC, radio or TV sound turned up and the show’s phone receivers are picking up the background noise of the caller and it’s a little annoying to try to hear the speakers with all this background noise going on. I’m sure that it’s unintentional and the caller has no idea that this is happening and maybe needs a gentle reminder, by Simon, to kindly turn down whatever it is they have on. I have seen people like Jane V. Mitchell, Nancy Grace and others on TV gently remind their callers to do the same thing. I don’t think that would be impolite on Simon’s part because the caller is evidently not aware that the sound from their house is being picked up and heard by all the listeners.
I realize that everyone on here tries to be kind and not say anything negative about the show or maybe, once again, I’m the only one who feels this way but please know that I am simply trying to be helpful rather than critical.

I can not understand how they are letting m get away without burying
little Caylee. I know one thing for sure, by not having a proper burial,
because of m, it is NOT going to look good in court. I hope the
prosecution runs with the fact that he did not even care enough about
Caylee to bury her.

Lilred: The defense is and will continue to blame their inability to bury Caylee on the prosecution. The defense’s excuse for not doing so is that the prosecution has not handed over every single bit of discovery, evidence, test results etc having to do with the remains. BB demands to see all of this BEFORE he can release the remains for burial/funeral. So you see, as usual, even this is all the fault of the prosectution (according to BB).
A lawyer for an Orlando woman accused of killing her daughter has filed a motion seeking additional information about his client’s ex-boyfriend.
Jose Baez, an attorney for Casey Anthony, filed the motion late Friday afternoon. Someone also did a search for the word “chloroform” on a computer in a home where Anthony lived, and trace amounts were found in her car.
Baez wants prosecutors’ information about ex-boyfriend Ricardo Morales, who has been questioned by detectives at least twice. The ex-boyfriend allegedly posted a picture on MySpace that showed a man and woman with the title “win her over with chloroform.”

Authorities investigating the Caylee Anthony case will be focusing on her uncle, Lee Anthony this week. It has been reported they will be questioning him about what he knew about Caylee’s disappearance and when he had such information.
According to WESH 2, a source close to the investigation said, “We kind of treat him separately. He knows what he has done.”
Anthony family attorney, Brad Conway claims Lee is not seeking immunity from prosecution because he and his family are unclear as to why he would need it.
Just last month, Conway announced that announced that George and Cindy Anthony would be seeking immunity in the case.
Lee’s sister, Casey Anthony, is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee.
