The first hearing is over. They will not be able to depose M in the usual way. All questioning must be done in written form, and she gets 30 days to respond. the judge said the 2 cases are so intertwined that this is the best way for both sides to be treated fair.

What happens in this case really isn’t going to matter to M anyway. She would have to win her criminal trial for ZG to get anything from her anyway, and that isn’t going to happen, so really, what difference to her if she is found guilty or innocent.
It matters to ZG, because she wants her name cleared, but even to her, it’s unrealistic to think she is going to get any money out of the deal.
Probably, BB will just have her plead the 5th on a bunch of stuff and not worry about the outcome anyway.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to suggest that this one wouldn’t matter to the criminal trial, only that if BB decided to have her NOT answer some of the questions in the civil one, resulting in her losing the civil one, it may be to her benefit in the murder trial. I think the civil case is important and the decision will make a difference to Jose because if he got paid for licensing photos and those photos were released with Casey’s consent, then there is a money reserve that could be tapped by ZG - and I would rather see her get that money rather than Jose or Casey.

This 30 day thing could actually be good for our side. Her answers will be in written form, so she won’t be able to side track and ramble and all the things she does when she speaks. Her answers will bear more weight when used as evidence in the criminal trial because they are written with 30 days of thought behind them. So, lies will be seen by the jury as even worse than they are now because they are not verbal, but written in response to a legal matter.

So, I am upset she got yet another “favor” from our legal system, but maybe this is for the best in the long run.

The major point is, Bozo did not get his wish to have it delayed beyond the criminal murder trial.
If ZFG wins the civil suit, it will be hard to use the Zanny story in the murder trial.

I haven’t heard anything about a countersuit in a couple of weeks so I figure that they would drop it so she could plead 5th, however now that she is being given basically a “take-home” test (LOL) why bother with the 5th?? After hearing arguments from both sides, judge Jose Rodriguez ruled that only questions in writing can be submitted. The video deposition had been scheduled for Monday. The judge said submitting questions is a more efficient way to determine what’s appropriate to ask.

A mystery videotape of the crime scene where Caylee Anthony remains were found may hold clues in her disappearance and murder. The video was shot by one of George and Cindy Anthony’s private investigators weeks before Caylee’s remains were found by the county meter reader. The video also shows another private investigator, also hired by the Anthony’s, on his cell phone.

But just who he was talking to remains somewhat of a mystery.

Orlando station WFTV has learned the two private investigators were at the scene on November 15th, and then again on the 16th, possibly because they didn’t find Caylee’s remains right away.

Law enforcement is trying to find out whether inside information led them there.

WFTV reports that the Anthony private investigator, Dominic Casey, is seen on the video at the crime scene almost a month before Caylee’s remains were found by the county worker. California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who first bailed Casey out of jail, says he saw Dominic Casey on the videotape, because the person who shot it, private investigator Jim Hoover, showed it to him.

“He’s standing there, or somebody’s standing there, filming Dominic down the road and Dominic’s on a cell phone, and you can see the fence, the signs on the left, the fence is there, everything is there,” Padilla said..

Finding out who Dominic Casey was talking to that day on the phone at the scene could be important to investigators in finding out whether inside information brought him and the other private eye to the area.

I am not sure that there is a real case with ZG, unfortunately. I have read that her name is truly Zenaida Gonzalez, but not with the Fernandez in there. Also, when her picture was placed before Casey, she (of course) did not recognize the woman and never did say that she was the one who took Caylee. So, really there is not any evidence that Casey picked this specific woman. I do think that it is a coincedence that she had view the apartments. I bet Casey was @@!!#*!! her pants when they even actually found someone with that name.

This is what I don’t understand, Why is the defense so butt hurt over not being able to be at the crime scene? In all technicality, if the body was found first, the defense wouldn’t have been there in the first place. If Baez was smart, he would know this. They also couldn’t allow the defense there because at that point there was no proof it was even Caylee until DNA was done to see if the remains were truly Caylee’s. If the remains would have shockingly been someone else’s child, Then Baez and his team would have no business to be anywhere near that scene.

i think bb is that sleazy, i’ve heard of att’s doing so much wrong that the case never even goes to trial so i’m glad the judge is on it.

If Leevil hits prison I expect he will cave quite a bit. The thing that bothered me about the ants not being in court was that they, too, are claiming the body won’t be buried until they know pictures of the remains can’t be published. Not sure I get the connection, but still … I would think they’d want to be in there for that hearing. If they’re hating on M now, well — they wouldn’t have known the judge would force her into the courtroom. Then again, if they’re still determined to protect her, it would have been an (accidental) chance to at least see her.

Dak…Casey signed away the custody with BB two days after the finding. Right now it is all legal meandering. Caylee Remains Released To Funeral Home
Public, Private Services To Be Held, Attorney Says

ORLANDO, Fla. — The remains of Caylee Anthony, which were discovered last week in a wooded area near her grandparents’ home, have been released by the medical examiner’s office to a funeral home, Local 6 News reported.

The child’s remains were sent to the Robert Bryant Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Orlando after documents were signed by the girl’s mother, Casey Anthony, Local 6 News reported.

Casey Anthony, 22, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Caylee, who would have turned 3 years old in August. Caylee was reported missing in mid-July, a month after she disappeared.

Caylee’s grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, will hold both a private service and a public memorial for Caylee, according to their attorney, Brad Conway. The Anthonys said they are not soliciting funds for the funeral services.

The Anthonys have no plans to visit Casey Anthony in the Orange County Jail, where she’s been since October.

Authorities also said that Casey Anthony would not be eligible to attend either a funeral or a viewing of the remains under Orange County Corrections Department Policy. They said that was due to the level of the charges and to the safety and security risks that would be associated with her attendance.

Hi all. I have been lurking for a long time. The case is very confusing, but you guys do a great job making this clear.

I have a few questions, I hope you don’t mind.

1. CA said that she could not divulge too much about what was going on for fear that her child might be hurt. Now that the body is found and the child is obviously dead, why does no one ask her point blank now why she cannot reveal more (obviously all a lie)? Just to put her on the spot I mean. Why does the prosecution not ask publicly for an answer, thereby putting her idiot attorney on the spot to explain? Or did this happen already? Or Cindy or G or Lee, whatever? They do the talk-shows, has no one asked them this very simple question?

2. What is the issue with Lee and the emails and obstruction charges being possible as a result?

3. I know no one knows who the father is (which is incredibly strange considering the DNA technology). But if Lee is the father (what I think), is that why the parents possibly want immunity, because they lied about not-knowing?

4. Is it possible that CA was selling Caylee to perverts and one of the perverts went too far? Seems to me that she took Caylee too all sorts of places, sleeping in strangers’ homes, going to bars, etc. Plus, since we know she was not working, where was she getting money to go out all of the time? Is this a crazy question?

Anyway, thank you all again for so much hard work and such excellent coverage. My heart breaks for this little girl. I cannot have children and my god, if this baby was not wanted, I would have gladly opened my home to her. I cannot fathom why they simply did not let her go to a loving home.

Difference between us and the ants? We were used to my ex and her behavior and finally weren’t scared of it anymore. The ants however I think have deep rooted problems of incest and abuse that ‘crazy’ Casey held over their heads until something terrible happened.

I been in something SOOOO very close to this situation and it’s part of why I feel so strongly about it. The situation was very messed up for a very long time and the whole family should have known it. no one in the family had a steady rung to stand on so no one could step in and stop what was happening.

Goldie-Fishy, I think you mentioned that your kitty was having fun turning over his water and food dishes and making a mess? I wanted to suggest something. If you have or can buy cheap a plastic or rubbermaid kind of large dish pan or even a NEW unused litter pan, put the water and food dishes in that. I think there would be room for kitty to get in or lean over the edge to eat and drink. But if he turns the dishes over the mess is contained - no mopping for you! And then if he wants to get at his food or water he’ll have to get his feet wet! So it may even “teach” him not to do it!
I understand about keeping kitties away from cords and electronics. Maybe “baby gate” him in the kitchen to bat around new (unsharpened) pencils, ball point pens (retracted), left over christmas ribbons and bows? And if you can devote a certain amount of time to play with him each day that might help.
Of course none of this will work unless kitty agrees!!! We all know they have their own minds that’s for sure. Just thought it was worth trying before having to put the little thing in a cage.
Oh, a good “baby gate” is a large 3 fold kind of cardboard “presentation” board that can be wedged on either side of a doorjam. The smooth surface is difficult to climb and many are tall enough that he might not be able to jump it either.

I did not think that M looked that bad in court yesterday. She just looked totally detached, like a mechanical doll. Did not display that self confidence anymore like she did in the past.

O/T. I have multiple cats in my household and I use heavy ceramic restaurant dishes as food/water dishes. They cannot throw them over. Those light weight stainless steel or plastic cat dishes are a joke.

They can purchase basic cosmetics from the commissary as well as certain water based pens and pencils. Anything not from the commissary like that is contraband though.

No confession will actually hurt her IMO in front of jury when/if overwhelming evidence points to murder and no accident.
If defense want to play the ppd/bi-polar card, they will need a confession from M.
If no confession , it will point to intentionally cold blooded murder.
PPD and bi-polar generally are tearfully confessed to when accused is in a more normal frame of mind.

It is hard to believe that they were discussing the xrays and photos of her little girl’s decomposed body, a little girl dead less than a year, and she showed no emotion other than smugness. I think she was overjoyed to get so much attention by the judge ordering her brought into court. And at the end, she gave a smile to Jose that seemed to me to say, “men love me and here is another one that wants me and I know it”.

From what I saw, I think she still believes she is getting out of all of this, possibly with big bucks.

Pickles - we don’t know that Lemon’s letter had anything at all to do with why the DP was withdrawn. I think it probably had more to do with the evidence or lack of it that LE had at the time. I don’t think LE would be taken in by the old PPD excuse at all. BB just held out long enough and they withdrew it because it was a much surer bet to convict her of murder (not DP).

If forensics peeps found plants growing between the bones, I don’t think it had been moved. Sounds like evey day LE is more convinced they have this case wrapped.

They need to make it 1 yr max of getting a trial started, seriously. Because tax payers don’t need this BS. Defense attorneys only make it longer so they can have more of a chance to get people off.
