There is something wrong with people who have no heart and can do something so ruthless. :(
The teen age mom may have been afraid, but there is more to it....Then just fear....The girls father saw the baby in the trash and he just left it there. :(

These people do not have blood in their veins. there is definitely something wrong with them. :(

Sometimes I wonder if that is a prerequisite to work in government too??? Just look they cut medicare for the elderly. :(

I'm deeply saddened by this event, however, not surprised. Until this young teens are held accountable for their actions, it will continue to be on the rise. I do not want to sound like the teen is the only problem, often the unsupporting parents (absent parents) could have played a stronger role in helping the young adult/teen thru a pregnancy and helped them to find options (adoption!). I know of several couples that would love to have adopted a child, I know there are many more. My husband and I are lucky to have been able to adopt our youngest son, we are thankful to the biological mother for her having the "courage" to give him up for adoption!

When I read this report, I literally felt sick. My daughter just had her first baby five weeks ago and I immediately thought of my new granddaughter and asked myself how could anyone, even a young girl, throw away a defenseless newborn baby - her own child?! And to the grandfather who saw his own grandchild in the trash and did nothing . . . how do you sleep at night? Ignorance and a total lack of support are obviously factors leading up to this horrific act. It is a tragedy all the way around, but especially for an innocent child who never even had a chance.

Common human response is, as you stated, heartbreaking and shocking that so little value is placed on human life. Citing this reported incident, we'd be more astounded probably to know how many of these unwanted births are never reported. According to the report, the birth mother's dad saw the baby and left it there. Makes one wonder if the grandfather is also the father. Another thing this brings to mind is the issue of late term abortions which are considered acceptable by certain standards, what is really the distinguishing criteria between the infant abandoned in the dumpster to the one surviving an unwanted pregnancy whose skull is professionally punctured in order to end his life or deprived of nutritional support so that intervention may not be required.
