Greetings, This is a wonderful story.I was diagnosed with mesothelioma in sept. '07. I underwent a pleurodesis very shortly after. I was told I had about 4 months to live.I read a lot of things on the web relating to cure. I devised a self treatment routine with commercially available items. I went along and gained weight and strength and in about 6 months or so I was doing my normal things.
I had regular blood tests and CT scans.April '08, the scan showed an increase. I underwent chemo with 6 courses. It showed very good results. I have just shown an increase again and we are monitoring it with regular blood test.( my blood tests all along have never been far from normal). I will have a CT. scan again in a few weeks and from that scan the decision relating to chemo will be made. I have had "alimta"and "carboplatin".
I am 72 year old male, a builder for the vast majority of my working life. Asbestos exposure was common and regular. After the initial "flooding" of my left lung and the pleurodesis, I regained health as I said. I have never really had any pain to worry me from the disease. I am aware of it when doing deep breathing exercises, but not always.I would like to talk to other people with mesothelioma. I am the only one I know with it.
Any communication on this matter will be replied to and I welcome questions and advice.
