Jungle Fury - Into the Jungle

In the real world, good and evil are seldom as easy to describe as just that.  People are both good and bad, our allies both help and harm people and nothing is quite as clear as it sounds it should be.  In times where that can become overwhelming, it’s helpful to sit down to a clear morality play where white and black are what we want them to be.  Now there’s a perfect example of pure good and pure evil on DVD right now!

Starting this December 16th, now available on DVD from Buena Vista Home Entertainment comes the first chapter of the next re-imagining of the classic tale of high school ninjas, crazy monsters and brightly colored jumpsuits.  Power Rangers – Jungle Fury – Into The Jungle is ready to come out swinging and take a swipe across the universe in the name of justice and Japanese television shows.  Bring home this next great adventure today!

The ancient and evil warrior god Dai Shi was help captive for ten thousand years by the Order Of The Claw.  Yet somehow Dai Shi was finally able to escape and now the whole world is in danger from him.  The earth is about to be destroyed by an entire army of evil animal spirits unless the three new Power Ranger warriors are able to stop them.  Yet with the thrill of them still struggling to learn how to work together, does the world stand any chance of survival?

The special features included in this DVD are three free trading cards and the option to get a free action figure if you purchase both this DVD and the other one from the same series also being released on the 16th.  It also comes in full screen format and Dolby Digital Surround Sound.  I am genuinely disappointed in the fact that there are no other special features than that.  The previous series had a ton of bonus material on each of their five discs and it was interesting to watch.  I thought it was going to be a trend and all it ended up doing was setting me up for a bigger fall.

I can never say anything bad about any reincarnation of this show.  I was brought up on this show and it taught me about a whole world of new information – violence, colorful costumes, things that transform, a team that fights evil, cute girls who beat people up, Japanese television shows, Japanese monster movies and ninjas.  What a treasure trove of cultural information!  How could I possibly speak out against that?  Answer – I can’t.  Get this DVD for your kids because it’s a cultural gateway drug and in times like this, everyone can use a new high.

This collection brings in the Fury!
