I ate seafood from a chinese take-out order and within hours became deathly ill. Nausea/ voniting/abd pain/severe diarrhea and damage to my large intestines described as third degree burns. Extreme thrist as well. Kidney failure followed which was blamed on cat scan dye. CDC and FDA offered no help to my doctors in diagnosing me. How can we be sure Melamine isn't contaminating our food if we do not test for it? This happened in Aug of 2009.
Any one else with a story like this?

As a writer for a pet site, I have been writing about dangers of chemicals and additives long before pets died from melamine in their food supply.

The outrage from deadly melamine in pet food seemed short lived. Could it be that most of the population has been so bombarded with risky chemicals and additives that they have ceased to be concerned with outcomes?

I believe that the product label is the most important part of any purchase. We need to know what we are eating and consuming and where the goods originated.

The origin of the products that we buy affect more than just our bodies. One only needs to look at the job market and the economy to realize this.

It is time for everybody to become outraged over all the things that adversely affect our lives. Stopping the flow of dollars to the makers of bad products and importers of risky foods and ingredients will speak volumes.
