A recent report has claimed that an actor from the UK died as a result of exposure to asbestos at a car parts factory where he worked more than forty years ago when he was a teenager. David Nicholls, aged fifty eight, died from the asbestos related cancer, mesothelioma, earlier this year in June.
The actor worked at the Beans Industries car part factory in Tipton in the UK as a teenager, and it is claimed that this is where he was exposed on a regular basis to the deadly substance. Forty years later he died from the cancer that stemmed from this exposure, according to the reports.
The verdict that was recorded over his death was death by industrial disease. Before his death Nicholls issues a statement in which he stated: “Asbestos was something that was all around me and I never thought anything of it.” He had starred in a number of popular British soaps as well as in blockbuster movies such as Gladiator and Gangs of New York.
His long term partner stated: “We are all just glad that we finally have some answers about his death, the last 18 months have been a terribly upsetting time for all of us. David was such a talented man, and his many TV and film appearances are a legacy that we will all treasure forever and I am sure will provide comfort during the difficult times ahead.”
