Police officer from the UK had to be taken to hospital after attending an incident because of an asbestos scare. The officers came into contact with the potentially deadly carcinogenic, asbestos, at the scene of a car crash that they were attending.

According to reports the emergency services were called out in the early hours of the morning earlier this week, to attend the scene of a car crash in Warboys in the UK . Upon arrival, police officers found that a car had crashed into a barn that contained asbestos.

Asbestos sheets in the barn had scattered dust in the area, over the vehicle, and over officers, and this has led to concern over the safety of the attending officers. At least two officers were checked out at hospital following the incident, according to sources.

The road has now been cleared up, with special clean up teams and environmental health officers wearing suitable protection having been called out to the area after the incident. Officials said that there was no evidence that any of the officers had been harmed.
