George and Cindy Anthony spoke to the media after their Sunday night prayer vigil that was held for Caylee Marie Anthony, their granddaughter that has been missing since mid June. Casey Anthony, the mother of Caylee is being held without bail in the Orange County Jail and is being charged with first degree murder even though the child has not been found yet.
When asked what they thought about the state not going after the death penalty for their daughter they claim not to be surprised at all. Cindy Anthony also stated that the release of the videos showing their meetings with Casey when they visited her in jail doesn’t upset her at all.
“I said from the very beginning if they would have shown those tapes they would have seen that she does have emotions. She does care, does love her family. She’s not a cold, callous person like everybody wants to paint her out to be. She is a desperate, loving mother,” said Cindy Anthony.
I almost choked when I read that statement. Does she really think that watching those videos will make the public see Casey like that? All they did to me was make me see what a self-centered person she is (and that is being nice) The only time emotions were seen is when she talked about wanting to get out of there. She knew she had to say it was for Caylee but she didn’t mean that and it was very obvious.
Cindy Anthony claims she doesn’t watch all the media coverage but I bet she does. She wants to see just how many of them are mentioning her name in the news. She wants to see just how popular she is getting. She also said that there is about to be a lot of national exposure. She was speaking of tomorrow morning’s “Today” Show. Jose Baez is scheduled to be a guest. Then on Wednesday Cindy and George plan to fly to California to appear as guests on “The Larry King Show”.
For someone who hates and blames the media for how messed up things are right now they sure like talking to the National TV Stations, don’t they? If this was a crusade in attempts to actually find little Caylee I would be all for it. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I was part of this family. They are on a crusade to save their precious brat and that is about it. The Anthony’s have to know by now that Casey did something with Caylee and she will probably never be found now.
She said while they are in California they plan to use the trip to investigate another possible sighting of Caylee on the West Coast. How convenient for them that this sighting came up now while they are going to be on the west coast.
I hope one day the Anthony’s wake up and see their lying conniving self-centered daughter for what she is. I somehow doubt they ever will though. They want so much to believe every word Casey tells them that they can’t even consider the possibility that Caylee is gone. Casey should be so ashamed of herself for putting her family through this to begin with. Now I doubt if any of the Anthony’s will receive much sympathy from anyone other than a handful of people. It might appear to them they are getting sympathy from networks like NBC and ABC but you can bet their only interest is ratings for their show. They could care less about the Anthony’s or what they are interviewing them about. I am curious about just how much of this Larry King Show will be about finding Caylee. I bet there will be more talk about how Casey is in jail and how innocent she is and how Law Enforcement is out to get her and them.
When Caylee looks down at us from heaven I hope her heart can possibly forgive her family as she watches what they are doing. If she were my daughter and I knew I had done something to her like this I wouldn’t want to live anymore. We all know in Casey’s mind that is right opposite from what she is thinking. She thinks now she can start living again, because she is convinced by her lawyer she will get out of this and be free again. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when they find her guilty of first degree murder. I bet we see tears then because she will know she will be an old lady when she gets out of prison (IF she ever does) and no man will want her then. Then maybe Caylee will get her justice.

Cindy is an idiot and no one believes her.. not even her own brother.. George totally looks like he is a pupet being strung along by Cindy! We all can see that George has integrity but he is too far up Cindy’s rear. And Lee, the loyal brother no longer jumps to defend Casey… Wonder why? Casey deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life and Cindy needs a mental hospital! No wonder Casey is such a liar, she is just like her mother! Casey is better off in jail because there is only 1 person left on this earth that “believes” her and that is her mother.. if she were to get out of jail, she would be be another OJ and the world would hate her and never leave her alone! I HAD such sympathy for those grandparents. I truly thought Cindy was in such deep denial….and George…closer to the truth than he wanted to admit to himself or anyone…
I DON’T want to hear Cindy babble on anymore on how they are closer to finding Caylee and all the “supposed” sightings. I know people come up missing then reappear. This is CLEARLY NOT one of those situations. I wanted to get physically ILL when I watched those latest jailhouse interviews. If Cindy cannot see the visible lies spewing from her daughters eyes, mouth and soul….then she clearly does not know her daughter….or does not want to know…for her own selfish reasons, or guilt. George certainly knows the physical signs that someone shows when lying. I can only hope that George grows a set and does what’s right for Caylee. It should have been done while his daughter was in the house…but honestly…the denial charade is over. Baby Caylee…my heart breaks for you. To imagine what she did to you, and your body, I cannot bear the thoughts. I pray you are found and given last respect and justice. It won’t come from your blood family though, that is obvious. It will come from millions that are praying for you with all their hearts.

It is amazing on the prison video’s, that Casey talks about it being not only the worse thing that has happened to her, but the worse thing that has happened to her family. Where was Caylee in any of that statement?
Unbelieaveable!! I mean really, the Anthonys say since they are going to be in California to be on T.V., they will be checking out a sighting of Caylee tip…..well that pretty much says it all……maybe it should have been..since we are going to jump on a plane this minute because we heard of a sighting of Caylee, and hopefully its true, but if not, we will do a segment on t.v. to beg whoever has Caylee to please call.(although, we all know shes not coming back) , at least the Anthonys could try to be more convincing. This is so unfair that networks are still sucking up to her and letting her speak on the air. I think its time to tell her NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR ANYTHING SHE HAS TO SAY, because its all b.s anyway. I agree with all on this subject. One thing I can not understand is if there are sightings and they are being checked out, who would be so stupid to allow an abducted child to be seen? A person who kidnaps a child will not let anyone see the child if they intend to keep them, now this is nuts! Cindy and George have to be dumb as a box of rocks if they really think this is the case. Somebody should possibly see that they are evaluated for sanity. They are so wooled over in the eye area by their lying daughter, they can not even see the real story here. Those of us who have watched the tapes are convinced that Casey is lying as well as the fact that Cindy at least is coaching her. Cindy leads the conversation and Casey follows that lead, putting on her little act. As in, “is someone threatening us?”, well, darn that’s it, my out by saying that I kept mum to protect the family! From what? Somebody needs to protect them after the trial when a riot may take place after all the facts are made public. I am sure that the public is not privy to all the facts or evidence in this case, otherwise there would be no trial. It will be interesting to hear what they know that we don’t and until that time, they should physically gag Cindy to shut her mouth!

Those tapes only add a little more guilt to what we already know. She showed emotion only to wanting to go home and be a little girl again. She cares nothing for Caylee. IMO she tries to show emotion and really failed. What a joke for C to think that this does anything. These people need to wake up, get a grip, or whatever else one might say.

The other thing I wanted to vent about is …I think it was on mom logic, but not sure. There was a blogger who was saying that the “kidnappers put a dead body in Casey’s trunk and that is why there is evidence of decompisistion there.” “and that we should all keep our comments to ourselfs since we don’t know the facts”…….I would bet almost everything I have that it was not a blogger , but it was Cindy, I mean no one else would come up with that crap . So my comment to Cindy is “why the heck are you wasteing time reading these when if you truly think Caylees alive, you are not out looking for her, or doing something constructive in any of the searches for her instead of trying to convince people to believe Casey when if you had half a brain, you would know she only cares about herself. And let me also say Cindy, if your wasting more time reading these, that its one thing to love your child unconditionally and stand by them through anything, stand by them while they accept the consequinces of there crime, and still love them no matter what they have done. But to lie for them, try to make people believe what you yourself know is not the truth, obstruct justice in order to try and get her a not guilty verdict, etc.. is not loving your child unconditionally. All its doing is showing them its ok to lie or steal or whatever to get what they want. THAT IS NOT LOVE. If my child did something like this, no , I would not disown them, I would still love them,and I would always be there as there parent, but I would not lie to protect them from taking responsibility for there actions, I would want them to stand up and accept the responsibility and take what punishment there actions warrented. You need to step up and be a parent.
I doubt the police will ever get a confession out of Casey but let’s hope that if the prosecution can’t put a strong enough case together today we can hope for some OJ Simpson style justice somewhere down the line. If she is guilty she will never be able to put it behind her. Like OJ, Casey will find herself in some other situation that will land her in jail. If she is not responsible for Caylee’s death, at the very least she’s a neglectful mother who gave repeated false statements to law enforcement hindering efforts to find Caylee and that is a crime.

For anyone who missed NG, important issue revealed. Ants complain they can’t get their own copies of these “sightings” videos, yet the only way to obtain them is to ask a judge for permission.
And guess what? Neither the Ants nor Baez have ever asked a judge for permission! It’s all a ploy. If they truly believed these sightings were real, they WOULD already have the copies.

While Casey was home on bail, I think she has told Cindy something to make Cindy fight to save the families image. I can’t believe that Cindy is doing all this just for Casey. I think it is about all of them. And, by Cindy’s actions, she seems to have some sort of Circus con artist skill of making the best out of nothing…smoke and mirrors when you have nothing. And you know the irony of it all, she may have a short time in the news with George, but the bottom line will still be the same. Guilty on all counts.

The videos show Casey with emotions? What family uses the term “reach out” to mean call or speak to. All the Anthony’s use that term. How shallow are these relationships. Do you talk to your mom like that? “Oh, absolutely”. The Adaams Family looks normal next to these people. How many times does George refer to Caylee as “this little girl”. When they talk to her they are afraid. She has the whole family brainwashed - probably for years. If I was in that situation I’d be screaming for her to talk - where’s the baby? - what have you done? I wouldn’t even be able to sit calmly - I’d be sick to my stomach and a hysterical mess - “I know we will all be together again - I feel it in my gut” Yeah, in heaven. What a poorly acted out drama, but one they have probably played forever. It’s obvious they are loving the media attention and really don’t care much about what really happened to Caylee. When they mention all the efforts by all the people and organizations, the answer “Oh, that’s nice - that’s good” If my kid was missing and the nation was looking for her I’d be thanking God and crying my heart out in appreciation. If you are innocent, why would you have to hide anything you say? Who would care if the visits were being recorded. She would be screaming out the injustice, blaming all that needed to be blamed and screaming to get out to get that person that took her baby…. Well, that is in the real world. I have stated long ago, the media and this country need to ignore this trash of a family called the Ants! Their 15 minutes was up long ago. I say we have heard enough of thier accusations toward LE and anyone else who doesn’t agree with them.
Ironically, the only deception in this case seems to come from the Ants! To mention just a few examples, we know C admitted to having turned over a brush that isn’t the specific brush LE ask for. Oh yeah, and C washed M’s clothes found in the car with the “rotten pizza” on them! Oh, and who can forget the Ants, “airing out the car”, knowing full well “it smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car”! No, I’d say we have someone else we cannot trust in this case and it’s not LE!
LE one the other hand has been compasionate and professional. For example, we see the Detectives holding C’s hands, trying to confort her, when C is confronted with the truth. Not one detective has been on a media “tour” like the Ants! In fact, if anyone with half a brain was presented the evidence in this case, removing the names and such, they would have the same feelings LE has about M!
If the Ants are the “pure” and “innocent” “victims” they say they are, then submit to a polygraph test, testify in Court and let’s see hear from all of your “character witnesses” to verify your quality of your family. Otherwise, shut the hell up!
Caylee should really be the focus, all efforts should be on finding her. Unfortunately, the Ants psycho daughter in jail has derailed any legitimate leads to find Caylee. Here’s what the Judge should tell M, “you lost your child, you have lied about what happened to her. You either tell us the truth, take us to the body or you spend the rest of your life in jail for losing your child”! “Now, can you start over? Tell us where is Caylee”?
I say, we all ignore this ignorant family and get on with the searches for Caylee. M will face justice, and hopefully, the Ants will be held accountable for thier slanderous staements aimed at LE and for obstruction of justice! Go away Ants, someone will find your granddaughter and the creepy daughter you brought into this world will have hell to pay!
Ive read every transcript posted on this case. But even before that, I didnt have to kno a thing to see that this so called mother was guilty. As a mother of three, I would freak out if I havent seen one of my children in a couple of hours. There would be no partying (yes im still “young” enough to do that) or hanging out with friends and getting wasted. I would be searching day and night for my child, and if i was “afraid” of some unknown persons doing harm to my family or to the child that was just abducted I would go directly to the police, after buying a gun for myself cause i would make sure that if i did catch the bastards that took my child it would be the last thing they ever did.
Is this what our world has become? Where a lying, conniving, thief is believed until the ends of the world by the very family that she has committed these acts against? I think Cindy needs to google that neck breaking article again and apply it to her lying daughter until the truth comes out.
Hopefully they arent keeping this secret because Caylee is the product of incest between the father or brother and Casey. Who gives a crap if she is, the main thing is that an innocent child should not have had to suffer like this and a guilty person should not be allowed to “profit” from this tragedy. The truth will come out and I just hope that justice is served.

This is an excellent post. You really hit me with the vision of Caylee looking down on her family…that poor baby didn’t have a chance in this dysfunctional sludge pile. Jose Baez, who just appeared on the Today Show to serve out more ridiculousness, is proclaiming that we don’t know the whole story. It will be interesting to see what twisted yarn will be served up at trial as the story du jour. Casey’s life and movements before, during and after the disappearance of her child are pretty transparent since she spent most of her time yapping and texting. Baez was interviewed on NBC Today this morning stating that M is innocent and we will all know that when the evidence comes out at trial. If she is innocent, who is saying she’s bipolar, a molested victim, with PPD? She’s a poor messed up Mother of the Year innocent defendant? I’m so confused.
It seems Mr. Baez is leaning in the direction of an insanity/bi-polar defense. In the letter submitted to the prosecution the defense cites several different scenio’s for Ms. Anthony’s defense to why she may have murdered Caylee Marie, many “what if’s”.
Andrea Yates and Susan Smith are perfect examples of woman that kill due to a temporary in balance in the mind. The prosecution withdrew the death penalty option which is a tell tale sign that Mr. Baez will follow suit, and defend Ms. Anthony as a woman who suffers from bi-polar disease. Again, having a bi-polar disorder is neither a reason nor an excuse to murder your child. Ms. Anthony has been evaluated for mental disorders, and she is not bi-polar.

I have a question. I just read where the governor from Illinois had “Court ordered” wire tapping. The wire tapping was used catch him committing a crime. Do you know if this can or has been used in this case? Can this be done without consent?
I would assume that the suspected party would not know this is happening. I was hoping when M was out on bond, that her phones would be “bugged”. If wire tapping was used, we might now know what the State refers to as “more” evidence! Can you fill me in on this? Thanks!

RAJ - well said. Using a serious personality disorder to excuse murder is like using a medical condition like hypothyroidism or binge eating as an excuse. Already been done (didn’t that diet doctor’s killer use the one and the Twinkie defense revolve around the latter?). I guess some defense attorneys have to get creative when they can’t think of a good reason why their client is guilty.
Perhaps this will go down in legal circles as the “The Stripper Pole Defense” and L1 students everyone can study how will partying, promiscuity, lying and general pychopathic behavior can be manipulated and presented to the jury as something other than what it really is. Should be interesting.

There are similarities in sociopathy and bi polar and she could be a combination of the two. Mental disorders are often not clearcut. It still should not impact the outcome of the trial if she knew right from wrong.
Having a bi-polar disorder is not a constant in the indiviual who suffers from this disease. Her behavior during the 31 days Caylee Marie was missing shows a woman who did not cause her friends or family to question any strange behavior such as her exhibiting any symtoms of a bi polar disorder. Please take note of the testimony given by all Ms. Anthony’s friends, and family as to her demeanor during this time frame.

Many famous creative people like actors are bi-polar because they can extend themselves so much in the manic phase. In the depressed phase they withdraw so the public isn’t as aware of that side. M’s parents may be aware of the depressed phase, but her “friends” would not. She doesn’t seem to have close friends, so I would think that people knew something was weird about her.

And even if her friends did not notice her behavior as exceptionally manic (some of them may not have known her long enough to see another side to her personality - some manic episodes can go on for months) - the various mental health professionals and psychologists are the ones that will ultimately weigh in. We have not heard their expert testimony yet but there will be testimony from both sides as to their educated opinions.
I’m sure the many, many people who deal with personality disorders in a postive way and become productive, upstanding citizens will in no way accept that having a challenging condition is an excuse for what this woman did to her child. Physical and mental challenges are simply not covered under an insanity defense and don’t generally hold a lot of weight as extenuating circumstances other than to eliminate a death sentence.
With what we have seen of Cindy’s behavior I have a feeling a jury would have been more sympathetic to one of Cindy’s children getting rid of her than they would have the Menendez brothers. She is a piece of work.

I agree Pickles, she just wanted to get the “problem” out of her life. Why did her brain process this wish as murder? A normal brain wouldn’t consider it. I’ve seen kids who, when they want something, they just take it with no sense of consequences or concern that they are stealing from someone. They don’t process normal feelings of guilt, but they know it’s wrong and don’t want to get caught. This is more sociopath than bipolar IMO.
C`A - both sides can continue to add witnesses up to and even within the trial process I believe - (RAJ would be your expert there). If the defense is contemplating using a mental condition as an extenuating fact, I would think they would include them. From the the way it looks at this point, the defense is primarily attacking the veracity of the forensic evidence.
There is a continuum for all mental disorders and degrees to which people suffer. The description above may be one at the severe end. Many people may suffer to a lesser degree and can manage the symptoms with the many medications available.
Who knows? It it comes to admitting Caylee did this, maybe the defense will skip a medical condition and go for PTSD as a result of the Cindy the Strangler incident. They will probably use anything that has worked recently or is popular. I would think they would only go there if they lose on the forensics, but RAJ is our best bet for talking about that strategy.
The Bigfoot defense sounds reasonable to me Anna. They haven’t examined demonic possession yet and exorcism would be worth a try.

I just watched the video of Lee and Casey. I noticed that when Casey is talking with Lee its almost like she is a giggling teenager. It seems almost like she is flirting with her brother. Disgusted - we know Casey flirts with anything in pants. I have not seen her with females (other than Cindy) - perhaps she is as manipulative with them as well. I’m sure Amy may have thought she was charming.
It might all be a part of her general way of using whatever manipulative technique works the best on the gender of her audience.
There is also a term being used in popular psychology circles called “emotional incest” and can occur when either parent maintains an inappropriate emotional intimacy. There are several articles you can google and a book that discusses this type of abuse. It sounds a lot to me like Cindy’s style of parenting and can have similar behavioral affects on children as sexual abuse.
It may be useless to speculate what actually happened in that household but one thing is fairly certain - they all have pretty obvious dysfunctional issues!

Doesn’t Casey have to be evaluated again to “prove” the Bi-Polar Disorder before he can use it in court?
Casey was already evaluated and she passed with flying colors. So I’m kinda questioning if Bozo can just go into court and say “my client is Bi-Polar”. I mean, as a juror I want proof and in a case like this, I want proof from more than one source. And even then, it still doesn’t excuse her for murdering her daughter.
Another thing, Don’t they have to have a “LOW” to be Bi-Polar? I haven’t seen or heard Casey be depressed.

How far can a defense attorney s-t-r-e-t-c-h the truth?
Does a defense attorney have to put together what their client is telling them or can he coach his client to another, what he feels is a, more believable story? I’ve always wondered just how far an attorney can go.
Also, if the defense attorney feels that the only salvation for his client is to take a stab at a mental disorder defense and in this case Casey refuses to admit to any mental or personality disorder then where do they go from there?
I realize that her attorney would advise her that any other defense would most likely fail, but would her attorney go down another path, per her request?
regarding this bi-polar issue, Raj is correct…we should keep in mind that she was and is being evaluated psychiatrically in prison. I thought it was telling in one of the jailhouse tapes shown last night on NG that her mother asked her if she is seeing a psychiatrist, M said YES. C asked her if she was being truthful with the therapist and M said no. I believe that M thinks her lies are being believed and that will be her downfall and subsequently the downfall of the Baez defense.
I was also quite disgusted with M trying valiantly to implicate Jesse. I think that M knows that Jesse knows her much better than most people and therefore he is quite a threat to her.
As far as I know, she has not been diagnosed with any Mental Health disorder. Even if she is diagnosed, it will NOT be an acceptable defense.
In my opinion the only way she will be free is under the condition of reasonable doubt.
Bi-Polar is not insanity and insanity does not fly in murder cases.
To be honest, all this BS from Bozo just goes to show, even with his 3 witnesses, He knows he’s still going to lose. And the fact that the States witness list is getting bigger, shows they have an extremely strong case. IMO.
IMO the State has a reasonable case (I would not say strong, unless they find the body) but I do believe they will win and the defense probably knows this.
BB is getting a lot of exposure from the public and M does have the right to counsel even if counsel knows he can’t win.

I don’t believe that Cindy and George truly believe Caylee is alive. If you watch the video where Cindy is sitting back so she can watch Casey as she talks, you can tell she’s thinking that Casey is lying. George knew from the beginning but Cindy got him to shut up and she tells him what to say now. I believe they know and are trying to save Casey now because they believe they are somehow at fault. I think the more they talk the less believable they are. Funny how these sightings go directly to the Anthony’s and not the police, or “Kidfinders” who never found anybody. Shame on them for collecting money to find Caylee too.

And that ridiculous nonsense about not being able to talk on tape,needing to get out and tell them in person for fear of the baby’s safety, yet she turns around and gives a description of the baby sitter and her car??? All is well Pickles….I am trying to read all the latest blogs all over the net. i have just reread all the emails between Cindy and her brother from early June, before any of this happened. This was a pot waiting to boil over for quite a while. There is a discussion about the pregnancy issue with M when she showed up at the wedding in a tight fitting outfit. She was sp obviously pregnant that her bellybutton stuck out and all the guests were asking who the pregnant girl was. C of course maintained that M was just gaining weight. It seems that this was not the first pregnancy for M. I would like to find out more about this.

He may have done so because if he or his team has logged on line lately, the blogging world has been laughing their collective butts off in reference to his “potential PPD” reasoning. He may have felt the need to upgrade to something that might be a tad more defensible as an alleged mental condition.
RAJ’s excellent comment was a response to Lemanon’s answers to Ms. Grace. Now that this attorney is no longer a necessary or integral part of the defense team he can cut his losses, cash his little check and run. She did have a job at Universal but was fired for “job abandonment.” In other words she stopped going to work! lol! And she did not exactly drop out of HS. C & G were notified somehow (or maybe M told them) a couple days before graduation that she was 1/4 credit short. C & G met with the counselor and were irate that they had not been notified sooner and I’m sure C tried to bully the person into “making it be okay” but no go. So M did not graduate with her class for a measly 1 /4 credit which obviously she never bothered to make up. Perhaps not getting the 1/4 credit in time was a subtle way on M’s part of dropping out (or pissing off her parents!)

Diane Downs, a mother convicted of shooting her children and killing one of them, has been denied parole after serving nearly 25 years.
Downs answered questions via video link from a California prison for more than two hours today before the Oregon parole board turned her down. It was her first chance at parole.
Her daughter, 7-year-old Cheryl Lynn, was fatally shot on a rural road near Springfield in 1983. Two other children were seriously wounded.
Downs was sentenced to life in prison, plus 55 years. She is now 53.
Downs has told varying stories, including that a bushy-haired stranger shot the children. At the hearing, she produced a book that she claimed points to a conspiracy against her and her family.

My info is a few years old, but if you are missing HS credits, you make it up at college. You can get an AA degree and/or transfer to a 4 yr.college based on those 2 years grades, so if you have terrible HS grades you can start over. That’s our Calif system, anyway. Also you have a chance at a better 4 yr college transferring out of Community College!

About M’s dirty pics…I saw one for a second & got embarrassed to even have it up on my computer, don’t know if there have been others released… Anyway, anyone think they could be still shots from a porn M was in? I have a feeling theres far more “seediness” to M’s lifestyle than we can even imagine. If she was doing porn, or something like escorting/prostitution…or even just porn pics & selling them - that might explain what she was doing during all her unaccounted for work-time…
Among the documents most recently released to the public is Casey’s HS transcript. There is a handwritten note (written by Melich or other LE investigator) which says she did in fact get her diploma, albeit late. Before I saw this, I had also heard that she was one or more credits shy of graduating; however, unless the school and/or OCSO records are wrong I think she did end up with a HS diploma after all.
From handwritten note on Casey’s transcript:
‘Code that shows she *did* get her diploma.’
‘Her guidance counselor said she *did not* graduate on time. She probably went to summer school after her senior year & picked up her diploma.’
The next page is a note from Valencia Comm College indicating that Casey had never applied for admission nor attended courses there.
Not that her HS diploma has any real significance on the case or anything… I just find it sad and annoying that the media, spending countless hours on this story, appears to do less actual research and fact checking than us bloggers and viewers…
But I’d think there’s a decent amount of money to be made in that industry, so why M need to steal from everyone in her life? Okay, scratch my pornstar theory…

Unfortunately, I don’t think she’ll ever talk. In my opinion, she’s a true sociopath/psychopath. And I waver between thinking her parents have aided her & covered up for her since the beginning/very early on, to wondering if they are truly just simply stupid enough to be fooled by her. I think about this so much I start to second guess myself…
And the bipolar defense is ridiculous! I know a few people - good, kind, wonderful people - who truly do suffer from, and struggle with that disorder…and its an incredible insult to them when lawyers attempt to use it as an excuse/defense for murder!
I think they could very easily get her to talk if they ran that resort she’s in like a real prison… Take away all of the little perks (TV, snacks, etc.) and keep her in isolation for as long as legally possible, with literally zero privacy (clear cell door).
Once she’s convicted and facing decades behind bars, I think she would give up the location pretty quickly (maybe after losing all appeals?) in trade to get some of these perks back. She is a sociopath and a pathological liar, but she’s also a just a spoiled little immature brat. If they use those perks as bargaining chips instead of giving them away to all of the felons, I think Casey and many others would talk.

I agree that she’s a spoiled brat, who has been enabled & even applauded for her behavior by her crazy family for her entire life. But…I spent 7 hours in the holding cell of a county jail once, (in my reckless youth, haha), and it was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life. To the average person, being trapped in a little cell is almost unbearable. To me, the fact that M has been in jail this long without cracking at all really lends to her sociopathic nature. Maybe denying the little privileges she now receives would help, but I’m not sure. She’s already being denied the things that really “mattered” to her - partying, sex, text messaging - and it hasn’t meant anything yet.
ya I think M would be the perfect candidate for withdrawing all goodies and privelages to get her to speak. If she was actually doing what jail time should be, we might have heard a confession. Whatever happened to bread and water? That’s it. Shower once a week if yer luck? CA - Yeah. I think limiting a shower to once a week would probably be enough to break her down. I say that more than half seriously because if you look back she talks about taking a shower a LOT. She went to Jesse’s to take one. She went to Amy’s to take one another time. The first thing she said when she got home after being bailed out the first time was “I’m going to take a shower.” She even mentioned it in the jail visit tapes - that she got one that day or previous night. Must be a big deal for her to have to talk about it. I thought a shower was a pretty normal mundane thing not requiring much talking about but to her I guess it’s really “special” I guess.

Someone mentioned earlier that BB will be credited with getting the death penalty off the table but I don’t think he deserves any credit at all. Lemon responded to it and I don’t think even that affected the state’s decision. The state made the decision for their own reasons. BB didn’t have a gol darn thing to do with it.
All he’s done is get his client to pass up every opportunity she had for a sentence that MIGHT not have been life without parole.
Now she still faces life and he doesn’t care if he wins or loses. Winning would be extra good of course but he’ll be set even if he loses.

There are two exemptions under the Wiretap Act.
1. The “provider” exemption allows telephone sevice providers to listen to or monitor your telephone calls when they are directed to by law enforcement officers with a valid court order “search warrant” OR when it is necessary to provide you with service, to inspect equipement, or to protect the “provider’s property or rights, such as when a network is being used without being paid for.
2. Law enforcement officials can intercept telephone communication when one party consents to it, so if you are suspected in illegal activities and a goverment informant consents , agents can listen to and record your conversations with the informant, and use this information against you in a court of law.
As for Ms. Anthony’s phone being bugged by law enforement, in the hope of aquiring increminating conversations by Ms. Anthony I would say this is an illegal under the Wiretap Act.

When is her birthday? my Grandaughter is almost 26 months!!!! Ok, this has nothing to do with the case but it is too cute. Today, my husband took her outside to play in the snow for the first time. He wanted her to eat snow and she looked at him like he was crazy….but she tried it and she loved it. Then he taught her how to pick icecicles off the tree and eat them! When she came inside she said……nana….I eat snow and popsickles! It was cute! It was her first snow experience! lol….ok, sorry I was off the subject.

Thank you for answering my question and clarifying a lot of misunderstandings. Please know that there is never a need to apologize, we all lead busy lives and sometimes we are away from the blog for days or even weeks at a time.
I was always led to believe that although defense attorneys will act in the best interest of their client, some will often stretch the truth in order to win a case and $popularity$. Oops, sorry, I meant to put quotes around that word. (Please say you have a sense of humor!)
This group has been dissecting Baez for months trying to get some insight as to what kind of man he really is… now with your answer, I feel that we can measure him up to some standards or code of ethics.

Maybe I’m misreading, but the way I read those emails:
They were written in July, and I believe the writers are discussing what was going on at that time with the A’s…I understand it to mean that they are theorizing about M possibly being pregnant then (which I don’t think she was, unless she had an abortion/miscarriage around the time of Caylee’s murder)…so I think when they talk about her being preggers before, they are referring to when she was preg with Caylee. Does anyone else interpret it that way? Am I misunderstanding the emails?

Also Baez was shaking his head no when he said Caylee was alive which is interesting body language. He also blinks a lot. What’s with Padilla saying they may have the body? You’d think the show would stop and a full explanation would be required right then! Why would they hide a body until trial? They want to see the expression on M’s face after she put them through thousands of dollars of expensive investigation?
Sounds like an interesting night of info on NG tonight. Wonder if they found her, or made a deal behind closed doors…maybe that’s why the death penalty was taken off the plate?

LOL@bluff card. Y’know that is almost the way he looked to me. Baez has no reputation that makes him a good choice. OJ at least hired the best; no rookie mistakes. M’s parents shake their heads at her decision to go with Baez. If they are so close I’d think they’d get the best lawyer they could find for their innocent daughter, not leave her fate up to an unknown. Heck, I knew to get the best when I divorced, and it wasn’t life or death.
True val…but ya never know having the “best” more educated lawyer to help her out could advise her to break a deal to throw accomplices under the bus…and that could possibly mean the exact person using their pocket book could wind up doing time with their darling daughter….wouldn’t that be poetic justice!

What I find very interesting is that date of Paddy’s hint (today 9th)..is exactly one month to the day from the search. And from what I remember discussing with my pathologist friend was the info on that lab analysis (chromatograph tandem mass spectrometer) takes exactly one month to define liquified Dna removed from remains…bone marrow, body tissue etc…Now I’m not saying that could have anything to do with Paddy’s comment, but I do find it awfully peculiar.

That is the exact machine the lab would use for a sendout specimen to determine Dna analysis. And it is usually done through Quantico (FBI)..or Kevin Ballard (PA).
I’m sure if they used Quantico..they would’ve rushed sending it..I’m sure those FBI folks truly want to nail that B@#ch!

I believe those emails are either just after Casey left home or shortly before.
Perhaps that was her M.O. when she was pregnant with Caylee - she seemed to spend a lot of time at the Grunds then and also right afterward when Caylee was born. When she was pregnant with Caylee, Casey and Cindy might not have been getting along well. The fact Cindy was calling Caylee her “best mistake” long afterward makes me wonder what she was calling her during those months before she gave birth.
And perhaps that is why Shirley is speculating that it could be happening all over again, based on Casey’s behavior at the time this is written. JMO

novalis….this is just a guess on my part but I would tend to think even given the hippa laws in the medical field of confidentiality that only immediate family (mother/father)would be notified. I could be wrong on this because i am not a lawyer…but it just seems to ring true to me, and we all know the father is unknown, and the mother is suspect for that disappearance, I just don’t think it would have to extend to outer family…as cruel as that sounds…IMO.

Maybe that is why the state decided not to go for the death penalty.
If that is the case, it may be that George and Cindy are going to use their Larry King opportunity to repeat yet again their daughter is “not a murderer” to try to impress a potential jury pool that it could have only been an accident. Since they are following leads as a “side trip” to their Larry King appearance, it has got to be about Casey. I’m sure she is pleased that, once again, “the little snot head” gets second billing.

novalis…that is truly a guess on my part, and the only reason I think that way about the Hippa laws is because in order to determine if any remains are truly in fact Caylee..they would have to perform alot of medical testing on her. So according to the laws any release of medical info (which I still would consider this too)….would need consent..caylee being a deceased minor can’t give that consent and they won’t go to monster mom for permission either. That is how I was thinking about it.
It would sorta be like a nosy grandmother calling a lab to find out a paternity suit in which her son or daughter was involved in..if they’re a minor and she is primary care giver she has a right to know…if not they hang up the phone…lol . (just a little levity in lab humor…we wouldn’t hang it up rudely).

some folks on other blogs are debating whether or not medical examiner has to notify next of kin (parent only) or whether if that parent is part of ongoing case, that right is superceded. People with an inside link to ME office say Casey only is required and people looking up statutes say the state is under no obligation. I was only speculating that perhaps LE might have done that to shut George and Cindy up a bit.
val - I don’t think the timing of the interviews would be formally connected with a plea process. Once LE processed the video and made them available per Sunshine Law, it would be the media that would have requested them - although LE, in making sure they were available, might have wanted to send a message to the defense that, should there be a plea on the table, if forensic testing looks promising and the jury will be seeing what we are seeing, it just won’t look good for Miss Party Pants unless she cops that plea.
I truly don’t know for sure val…this is just my thoughts and opinion on it. If you think about it logically…the only way at this late stage for them to even determine it truly is Caylee is through medical science, and any info involved with that person living or even deceased is privledged to that person alone, unless a minor…like if my daughter has a throat culture..that info will be released to me in her stead. So just knowing that they can’t identify her now by simply looking at her it would be considered a medical determination through testing…the results of those tests I do not feel would have to be given to the primary care giver/mother Casey (even thought we know C was more a mom to her). This is just coming from my thoughts on working in the field for a very long time. I could be wrong though…I’m not a lawyer.

That sounds like patient confidentiality, which implies it protects the privacy of a living person. I don’t know, it just doesn’t make sense in a criminal investigation to me. Where is the Attorney? You two are up late, btw. It’s 10:30 my time!

Val..the hippa laws extend to beyond the persons death too…Example: if a long time patient suddenly dies in the hospital of HIV or Hepatitis C..just because they’re gone and one day you happen to run into an aunt of theirs or a friend and they pry you for info, you cannot give that info just because they are now deceased..it extends beyond death for the sake of respect and ethics.
val - I also think that state was holding DP as a heavy artillery strategy they could easily drop - the prosecution knows that even with a body and forensics it would be very difficult to prove whether cause of death was intentional or accidental - even with all of the premeditated internet searches and other circumstantial stuff. It’s just not tight enough for death penalty IMO. I think the state knew at the outset it would go for Murder One - death penalty, plea down to either life sentence or manslaughter if necessary and simply included the DP as a bluff or bargainng chip if defense was either cooperative or uncooperative.

Just a thought here. I’m sure you all have already coverd this, but the Ants and Baez HAVE to be trying to keep “doubt” alive with the general public…oooh, alive, bad choice of words! Sorry.Maybe a better way of saying this would be,the Ants are trying create the idea of “doubt” about M’s involvement,with their wirlwind “tour” of the media.
But really, unfortunately, there is no live Caylee! All the Ants are doing is looking more foolish than ever and trying to keep the idea in people’s minds that “no body, no crime” theory. Anything to save the psycho in jail!
The defense has nothing! Most people think, with reason, the State’s job is a tough one in this case. They have to prove thier case, possibly without a body, crime scene or method/weapon of the crime. That’s understood, but who else could have killed this little girl? Can BB really tell us some song and dance M created that we’ll buy?
However, I contend BB and the lot have NOTHING! They have no character witnesses, he has a suspect to defend who has told nothing but lies! Yet BB thinks they’ll speak in Court and everyone is suppose to believe her and free her!BB knows there is no other suspect in this crime, M and her lying family have many troubling issues that a dictionary could define dysfuctional any better!
BB knows this is a family who tampered with several pieces of key evidence(see clothes with “rotten pizza smell” on ‘em, “airing the car out” and the infamous brush), BB’s client, exhibits behavior and has a relationship with her mother that provide a “taylor made” motive for murder! Most importantly, there is absolutley no sign, none with any credibility, of a live Caylee, since G saw her on 6/16! The deck is stacked bigtime!
I have this gut feeling something will break in this case. Paddy’s comment on NG was interesting! Can’t imagine leaglly the State could hide a body that has been recovered. I do know LE has stated they “more” evidence! I’d be more inclined to believe a wire tap taped from the Ants home when M was out on bail, that reveals a confession rather than the body being held secretly.
BB isn’t even close to being ready for trial. There has to be either a motion to contiue, change of venue or something else coming. Any delay has to benefit that State! BB and company are backed in a corner. His “100% innocent” statement made my stomach turn, shades of that creep O.J.! I guess BB just admitted to the world that M is guilty! LOL
Interesting that all the accusations being made by the Ants about LE using the media to buld a case against M ends up being exactly what they are doing to try to provide “doubt” in the public eye. Man, they are a twisted family!

The other thing I noticed that tickles me no end is that all of the defense strategies I’ve heard are based on excuses for WHY she did it.

Right after that the state withdrew it. I sure hope the state is being smart about this. I’ve heard that at least one lawyer - named Linda? - is very sharp. I would like to make a comment regarding m dropping out of highschool. Yes, sometimes I believe it is the parents responsibility and their fault. I , on the other hand also believe that as a parent we can not be totaly responsible for the choices our children make
I know this, because it has affected me personally. I have a daughter who, through=out her entire school years, never like school, did not ever live up to her potential and ultimaately quit in her junior year..
It devasted her family and me… but I did everytihing humanly possible for her.. we had tutors from the time she was 8..nothing helped.
We withheld things from her..we ‘grounded’ her.. it did not matter one bit.. we had no choice, she was 17 and legally could drop out of school. On the other hand, her older sister, is in her senior year of college and will be soon graduating. I do not know, or think, we did anything different with our children. Sometimes parents are not to blame for their childrens actions.
My youngest, then got pregnant, had the baby at 18, and now still shows absolutey no responsibility. She has been mixed up in drugs..
(still combating that problem), has almost lost her child…
As a parent I have felt great guilt over this situation. We, as parents, sometime have little control over what our children do.
I have such great contrast between my two daughters…yet they were raised the same way. Yes, they were both loved and treated equally..
This is in no way, to say c actions can be justified. If my daughter ever hurt my grandbaby I would have no problem choicing my grandbaby over my daughter.. unlike what c is doing.
I hope everyone understands what I am trying to say… I have felt so much guilt and self questioning what I did differently.. yet I have no answers…
My youngest is now living back at home.. where I can keep an eye on her.
Sorry for the rambling… this situation is so sad.. especially when I have a beautiful grandbaby that is so innocent…

paw~dont you have emergency shelter nearby?? yep id be scared to:( you guys have the sirens?? i feel lucky to have a basement, when sirens go off i put kids under stairs, have bycicle helmets for them to put on and blankets, its still very scary, lights go out heavy rain, got caught in a hail storm last summer at my daughters softball game, hail was about nickle size, came on fast one minute beautifull day next crazyness!

Lilred, I’m going through the same thing with my 10 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son. Daughter isn’t comprehending what she’s learning. Son is basically a genius, but he’s also deaf and they both have medical problems, ADHD is 1 of them.
Morning e1: I have spent quite a time reading pages of blogs. I am so far behind. I skipped some to read the current blog, and saw Lilred’s post this a.m. LilRed I have 3 children, 2 sons, 1 daughter, and just like you I have 1 son, the elder, who has never lived up to his potential. He dropped out of school, went on to get GED, attended college, dropped out, enrolled in one of those technical colleges for drafting, dropped out, has had many different jobs, relationships, 1 daughter out of wedlock, it goes on and on. His brother and sister, entirely different. Have one college graduate, who is getting masters, and planning on PHD, one married daughter, 2 wonderful grandchildren, a great son-in-law. Take my comfort where I can get it. Funny, but the dysfunctional son is the sweetest, nicest person you could ever meet. So loving!!! Doesn’t smoke anything!!! doesn’t drink, has 140 IQ! so who knows. Same family values, same nurturing.

Too upset to speak to her grandmother? That tells me that one of the excuses M fed C about staying away was that Caylee had witnessed some part of the big fight that M and C had on June 15 and claimed that it was C’s fault for upsetting her too much to talk to her. Talk about a guilt trip! I don’t remember C mentioning that in any of her interviews, do you? In fact did she ever tell LE about the fight they had the night of June 15? I haven’t heard it on any of the tapes but could have missed it or maybe it’s on a tape that has not been released yet.
I also noticed le has not mentioned stain in trunk. I think they have something there!!! C~A, so glad to hear about house! Paw69, you all be careful, have an emergency plan you practice with kids in case you need to leave suddenly because of storm. Practice with kids what to do, so it is ingrained. Lived in Ohio, 2 close tornados. So many times we had to run to basement. Anna, loved being snowed in, cosy and warm, with kids home, we had blizzard warnings, but had lots of food, games, light and warmth.
Lilred: Sounds like you tried to do everything you could to help your daughter. All C & G ever did was make her problems go away by denying them or covering them up and bully people into trying to excuse M (like they do) for everything she’s done.
BTW - To clear up one misconception that the media perpetrated on us and that a fellow blogger enlightened us about today. M did not drop out of HS. At the end of her senior year she was 1/4 credit short but it looks like the HS gave her a diploma anyway (probably later in the summer or something). There is a document to that effect (and I am sorry I did not go back to find out who made this discovery for us. I will try to!)
Anyway IMO this is just one of many times that M got away with something although it may be common practice for High Schools to let seniors slide - esp when it’s just 1/4 credit that’s lacking.

I am sorry to hear about your children, I imagine it is very difficult for you. My youngest was also diagnosed with ADHD,, she was on meds but in 7th grade refused to take them. We have had her in counseling so many times I can not even recall. We even took her to talk to our parish priest.. so this has been an ongoing problem from very early on.
My daughter also got mixed up with some bad people.. last boyfriend tried to burn down th duplex we had rented for her… my granddaughter was there at the time. So DCFS stepped in..(thank God)… that was the final straw, we had to move her and my grandbaby back home. (also she has never held down a job). Although she is nothing like m.. she loves Alli to pieces.. but she has bad many bad decitions (spell check) She is now in parenting classes and therapy.. it sure has been a long haul..
PAW 69 - There was no second pregnancy.
The email reads: “I smiled when you said Cindy says she doesn’t think Casey is PG. I don’t think she though Casey was pg the last time around either?” It was written in July when M and Caylee were MIA.
What they are discussing is why M is staying away and keeping Caylee away from C. Someone, maybe C’s mother Shirley thought maybe M was staying away because she was pregnant again. Apparently C did not think so.
Shirley’s friend says, “C didn’t think Casey was pregnant the last time” (meaning the first time- with Caylee) “either.”
That’s the interpretation that a couple of us made of that statement.
i agree with m2c about tim m ilness all because of c he went to help her and look what happened the fam is like a pack of paranas, eat you alive!
Lilred, It was difficult in their early ages, As they are getting older and understanding more about themselves, they have calmed down A LOT since hubby joined the military. Their punishment is now doing laps of Iron Mikes. They hate it, but when we consulted the doctor about the new punishment, he said there is nothing wrong with it and that they are actually being benefited by it, making their leg muscles stronger. I feel that due to hubby joining the military and bringing home to the kids what he has done in BCT and AIT has really turned them around. I pray that they follow this path and keep doing very well like they have since September. It has been a complete 100% turn around. They don’t even argue anymore with each other. They went from (omg I’m gonna pull my own hair out), to angels, literally.
M2C, Thank you for clarifying that. I thought it was the Caylee pregnancy too. But then I saw post of a possible 2nd one but couldn’t find anything to back that up.

On the upside, I have my granddaughter… and that is awesome!! In fact, soon she will be waking up!!! There is nothing more sweet than seeing that little face in the AM…
Lilred, For 98% of parents, we do what we can with what we have, and then some. I use to think I was doing something wrong as well. I even called CPS to come into my home to help me figure out what I was doing wrong. They saw all of the true colors with my kids. They saw how I was punishing them. They said that it wasn’t me, but it also wasn’t them. When they looked at their medical/mental history, they were shocked as to how well things were actually going. So I chopped it up as, this is no one’s fault and I just have to find new ways to deal with things as they come.

As a parent and educator, it is easy to blame parents/ourselves when children fail. Shed the guilt! It’s not our fault, yet our instincts tell us to suffer for any missteps of our children!
I often wonder if children like your daughter “fail us”. That’s a huge burden for most kids, to live “up to” what we expect. Maybe she wants to be “average” in a world that looks down upon average, when really, there is nothing wrong with average!
There are so many people who think that all their children are alike. Each child is different and doing things the same way won’t work very often in any occupation or “walk of life”.
Your daughter may have needed something more strict or maybe even more freedom, less constriction in her life…I hope that makes some sense. In other words, the buttons to push on each child is different. Or, as I often say, “the genetic make up” of your children is tough for them to shed. All families have “demons” that appear, demons that dominate other flawed extended family members. Sometimes, I feel that plays a huge part in addiction/decision making skills or personality of our children!
I hear what you are saying. We have hit some “bumps in the road” with our children. But, life’s a long journey, I wouldn’t want to be around myself at the age of 22! I have changed for the better, at least I hope I have! LOL yeah, things will work out over time with love and support!
The age of 17-18 seems to be the difficult age. It saddens me when my wife and I are hurt, as I’m sure you are, by your childrens actions. Just always be there for her. Unconditionally love your child! They need it! They are not us!
The Ants are frustrating in that they have chosen a public forum to try to convince people their criminal child is innocent! Your post is legit! The Ants are “abnormal” in that they should remain private and exhibit class in the stressful time.
They should be working to find Caylee, PERIOD! No media tour, no interviews other than to assist in bringing Caylee home! Ignore the stupid media circus! If none of the accusations about the Ants and M are true, they will eventually cleared! But, their actions are those of a defensive stance. That makes us wonder….
Anyone who has tried to tell the Ants to do what is right has been either fired or has bailed on them! I realize the actions of our children are tough to control or understand. However, the public charade the Ants are living is allowing all of us to see exactly what the problem is with M!
I’ll tell ya to hang in there. As they say, “This too shall pass” regarding your youngest! At the toughest times she needs you and I know you’ll be there for her! The Ants, on the other hand, are spiraling downward and out of control, heading to a major crashing in of the sick world in which they lived!

I was just thinking BB may want more video than just the shot of the girl. What we saw was a cell phone photo so her photo is already out there. I think he’s asking for a mall security cam video - of that play area? Of the aisles around the play area? Of the parking lot? That’s what I’d want to see if I was looking for whoever was with the girl.
And you are right - the mall should not release the tapes to anyone but LE. THat’s why BB is trying to make LE subpoena the mall to make the mall hand them over.

Without advice from RAJ I’d hazard a guess that it means they are not going for a true “she’s innocent, she didn’t do it” defense. Since the letter we’ve also heard about bi-polar (also from Lemon on NG).
The defense is screwy. On TV and by asking for security footage and tips of sightings BB looks like he thinks Caylee is alive and at the same time all we hear about defense strategy is that something’s wrong with M that made her kill Caylee. I guess we won’t know for sure what the defense will be until the trial.

If she is alive, then I would say there is some foul play here; but I personally do not believe she is. It is hard to argue with science (I am not a scientist) but if what I understand to be correct is there was either a dead person, or pig, in the trunk of that car.

No. I’m sad to say that I think Caylee is gone from this world. The so-called sightings are either attention seekers, sincere but mistaken people, or set-ups by kidlosers.
Here is how everyone in the US can be sure that the cell phone pic of a little girl in the Florida Mall is not Caylee:
1) If there is any possibility in the minds of Cindy, George, Casey, or Jose that this might actually be Caylee, would they have waited more than half a month to file for access to the video tapes? This happened back on Nov 16. It does fit in with their pattern of “lets wait a month before reporting the kid is missing” mentality, but if it was your child, would you have waited this long?
2) What possible reason could Florida Mall have for not releasing the video or at least allowing a review by LE? Because they do not want to become entangled in a lawsuit by the parents of the kid in the pic when LE is telling them that Caylee is not alive.
3) Cindy has stated that she is not sure the pic is of Caylee. For a woman who loudly proclaims the absolute innocence of her daughter, how can she be unsure in this instance? Cindy is not a waffler, she is on one side of the fence or the other, she would never, ever take a middle of the road, riding the fence, I can’t be sure stance on anything connected with this case. So, her sudden and uncharacteristic inability to tell if this pic is Caylee is a clear giveaway that she knows it is not.
4) KidFinders is connected to this sighting. We all know that if Casey’s lips are moving, she is lying. In the same vein, if KidFinders makes a statement, it is a lie.
It is the same with the CA sightings. Those sightings are from two witnesses who have no proof. There is not pic or vid evidence. None of the staff at the restaurant even remember the group that the witnesses say Caylee was with. None of the staff remember a little girl. And the witnesses waited several days before making statements.
Does it seem extremely coincidental that there were CA sightings (again coming through KidFinders) at exactly the same time the Anthony’s wanted to do a media blitz?
And why a media blitz now? With the trial scheduled for Jan 5, this is the last chance before everyone quits paying attention to news while they celebrate the holidays to try to confuse the issue with new “sightings” and various bogus info.

I did education “gymnastics” to get my kid through school. She was labeled as processing info differently so it was hard to get the concept of math and reading, but once she did she did well. We did home school, private school, inter-district transfers to better schools, etc. plus she is an only child, which I think is important. ALL of her friends who were academically motivated were oldest or only children from 2 parent families. She was the exception from a divorced home. Just an observation.
Dan, please do not take offense, but the state will lay out the facts, and evidence of their case against Ms. Anthony. It is the job of the defense to poke holes in the facts and evidence presented to the jurors by the prosecution. Unless the defense is planning on putting Ms. Anthony on the stand (which they would never do) the jurors will never hear “the bombshell story” and I truly mean “the once upon a time story” of Ms. Anthony’s innocence as promised by Mr. Baez.
I would not be surprised if Mr. Baez is replaced by a more experienced criminal trial attorney. This is just my opinion.
As to Mr. Padilla’s comment about the body of Caylee Marie being found it is pure speculation. If the remains of Caylee Marie have in fact been discovered, and tested, LE would legally be bound to turn this evidence over to the defense under Brady. Mr. Padilla has a habit of speculating and in my opinion he should be very careful when expressing his thoughts about this case on national television.
Val my son too has concept difficulties..and he is the first child…he had a communication issue..but that cleard up..and he is great in math..reading is still the only hitch in his little giddie up but we are worning on it..I got real fortunate to move to this school district..it is a wunderful area and the public school he attends is the best around they are sooo focused on him and his needs..

Thanks for the words of wisdom. It is such a frustrating situation. It is hard not blame myself. By I realize, now at the age of 21, she was to accept personal responsibility. Even if means tough love on my part.. and I do love her unconditionally. But I can not/will not accept her behavior when there is a baby involved.
Also as a parent, you are right, we have certain expectations of our children, and mine definately was not of having her drop out of high school.., get pregnant, cancel a wedding 3 weeks before.. live with male strippers.. drug addicts and felons. I want so much to support her, but thant was MY problem before, I supported her, thus enabling her. Now that has stopped, she acts like she hates me. I guess I pooped on her parade. I read several emails from Cindy Anthony and her brother, Rick. In one of the emails Cindy’s brother stated neighbors heard someone in the swimming pool on the afternoon of July 16th. If this is in fact true it could prove that the swimming pool may have caused the death of Caylee Marie. Again, this information is between Cindy and her brother and it is considered hearsay. I do know for a fact cadaver dogs are able to get an alert for the smell of decomposition in water.

val = IF the public is made aware of the “promises” BB has made and broken then they WILL hold him accountable. (So we have to “help” the media bring those up later on near trial time! Hee Hee.

I do think it again time to revisit the question of why is Jose Baez involved in this case?
In normal circumstances, a woman who is destitute (which is Casey, she has no money, no jobs, no prospects, no hope of future income unless it is tied to this case) would be appointed a public defender. Even if she had been able to make the initial payment of $1500 as claimed, Jose must have lost tens of thousands at this point in the case, money which is unrecoverable unless he is being paid for his TV appearances and he has a book or movie or other deal in the works.
I can understand why Jose would continue to work the case, as it gets him tons of publicity, which as a fairly inexperienced lawyer, he desires. However, does he personally have the money to continue with this case? I have to doubt it. Think of all the costs, the additional attorneys, the experts, the time in court, the security details for Casey. So, who is funding him?
I would also be interested to know if his client base has grown substantially during the last 6 months. Perhaps he is receiving so many new clients thanks to his newfound celebrity that he has no money worries?
Can anyone conceive of a story that would clear Casey in your mind, but which cannot be released right now to aid with the search for Caylee? Everytime Jose says that, I feel anger well up at his outright lies. There is no magic story. No matter what they say, no matter what story Casey tells, I cannot have any sympathy with her at this point for hiding the truth for so long. And by saying there is such a story, isn’t Jose admitting that everything is a lie up to now?

Baez must be counting on getting money through a book deal (possible advance) or paid interviews. I know I had to pay a $5K retainer and my lawyer went through it like water; every second spent was on the clock and I did most of the legwork on evidence. M told Baez she had 5K, so most lawyers would laugh and run if that was all the money they’d get. He’s relying on publicity to pay off for his career. I hope he has a great ghostwriter because he can’t seem to keep his story straight. Is she an innocent victimized grieving mother, or a mentally deranged abused person who accidentally OD’d her own baby? Or is he claiming both scenarios?

Panic was rising because the lungs of a dead body will not fill up with water. This was a murder! The obvious thing here is if it was NOT all so long. She also had to have done research somewhere somehow on the effects of chorimix in the system and traces of after death. Which leads me think she knew if the body was found they would know that she was being drugged. so she carefully thought out a way to get rid of the body and the evidence of cause of death way before she killed her!

Hey E1, been away 4 while. OMG, what Paddy said about LE “drop the ball”, mb meant drop the bomb? ‘member when Paddy was searching Little Econ river? Stuff was brought up from the bottom. Everyone got so excited it was Caylee? It was then reported that LE took nothing from the scene. BUT, the FBI took something. It was mentioned but not elaborated on and quickly glossed over. I bet that was at the direction of the FBI. I think they have our sweetheart’s remains. 1 month for test results!! To the day! Remember LE went to the Ants house recently? Nothing published as to why or what they talked about. I find this very telling. I hope Paddy is right. OK, gotta go. I hope to be back tomorrow. Curious to see what y’all think about this.

In regards to this pool incident, I am just having a trouble with the time line.
July 17th was when LE did initial car search and took evidence. It was also when cadaver dogs hit on car and pool area in Anthony backyard.
George’s interview with LE, where he spells out his and Cindy’s “pool accident” scenario is on August 4 (Cindy’s first interview is August 1). His story revolves around an alleged incident that happened on or about the 16th of June when Caylee went missing.
George and Cindy have had two weeks to speculate on why cadaver dogs may have hit on the backyard area. They have also gotten records of Casey’s phone calls (re: her July 25 visit in jail with Lee) and know that there was a “flurry of calls” from Casey to both of them that day.
We are taking for granted that the “pool incident” is something that actually took place instead of something that George and Cindy may have made up after the fact as an alternate theory of “accident vs. murder” to explain any cadaver dog activity in the yard and since they may not be as confident in their efforts to implicate her friends at this point.
I am just saying that the entire incident is hearsay - it has not been corroborated by anyone to my knowledge other than George or Cindy. And, as we all know at this point, George and Cindy have big ulterior motives in everything they say. The whole thing could have never happened. Except on Planet Anthony. JMO

Novalis: In some of the emails from Rick to C he says that he heard that a neighbor heard someone in the ants pool on June 16. C demanded to know who told him that and he didn’t say. So I don’t know.
She also said the cadaver dogs were “set up.”
That LE brought a dog that scents wrong FIRST and then brought in another dog. She knows ALL about cadaver dogs, you know! LOL!
Anyway just wanted to mention those things.
I can imagine G leaving for work before M and Caylee and M going right back in the house and ignoring kid or just putting her in the pool. Then “oops.” But then we have the problem with the shovel. It wasn’t borrowed til later.
So maybe kid was in trunk from 16 to 18 when she goes to house, backs into garage, borrows shovel. Later when she moves Caylee she’s wised up and brings her own shovel.
Also I don’t think she necessarily did a great job burying Caylee. I’m sure she put a lot of thought into it but what really worked in her favor was the 31 days before anyone even knew to look for the little girl. That was the devil at work. All of it was the devil at work thru M.

Well when I try to deconstruct all of the “pool accident” theory stuff - it is all based on the grandparent’s testimony and speculative interviews with various media types (including L. Padilla who postulated that Casey might have tried to stage a drowing). Actually we don’t know if any of it happened. Casey might have just dragged Caylee’s body to the pool and by the playhouse to wrap her up better before she buried her. It might even be wishful thinking that she was staging an actual accident or staging an accidental death cover up. She might have wanted to make sure the pool hid her from anyone who might see over the fence.
And we may never, ever know for certain.
