A reactionary, knee-jerk and mindless piece of writing from the blogger. Allow me to take it apart:

1)'The real solution therefore lies in enlisting the support of the community in weeding out these rogue elements in India.'

May be, we can only begin to arrive at the 'real solutions' if we get down from this high horse that our status of being the religious majority in India seems to entail us with, and try and understand WHY certain people in our country allign themselves with another country. You can only solve a problem if you try and understand it. Why do they feel threatened by the majority? May be they think that they are getting a raw deal in the country they chose to leave (point in case, the education and living standards of most minorities in our country).

2) 'I have no ill will against in Muslim community per-se. But I do oppose the cowardice in the community in not completely coming out against violence as a means of religious fundamentalism.'

When you are brought up with the minority mindset engrained in you, the choices are never that easy.

3) NDTV has edited out sections which might have flared controversy. Fair enough.

@ Sugeetha- Liberty isn't easy you know. In India, people have the right to support and the right to dissent. Burning or actions deemed insulting to the national flag is a crime, not flying flags of other countries. Bombs did go off in the UK, that has not affected the myriad races and religions living there.

Islamic Terrorism has followed a 30 year long historical period. It ain't Pakistan or any other country, that should be clear enough. It is an international islamist phenomenon. We have tried force, things have gone worse since then. The other way of dealing with such hatred is through a general surge of understanding of the causes and reasons behind terrorism. Sadly enough, with ill informed and knee jerk reactions like the bloggers' here, we are not going anywhere to soon.

There can be no rational solution to an irrational problem. The problem of terrorism in India is a fundamentally irrational one, with its basis in religion - a flawed conjecture. The only logical and permanent solution would be to eliminate the evil of religion from both India and Pakistan, and to unite in a common culture based mostly on logic and partly on philosophy, after which the problem of terrorism will simply cease to exist.
Religion is evil. If you don't get this now, you never will.

Yes India is a free country. But I don't suppose those
Pakistanis aren't setting off any bombs in your free country, are they? Nor are India and Pakistan at war with your country.

Bombs do make a difference when it is your people who are getting killed. Just as the fact that a handful of Westerners getting killed have led to so much coverage of the Bombay terror attack when previous attacks were all but ignored by the Western media, because then it was only us Indians getting killed in our own country !Oh, we even merited a visit from Condoleeza Rice this time !

And I believe I did ask how welcome Nazi symbols would be in your free country. And if they burnt your Union Jack and your queen's pictures ? I couldn't care less about that myself. All power to them. I will preach to you about free countries then.

I can assure you that plenty of Britons of Pakistani origins AND Britons of Indian origins frequently fly the flags of Pakistan and India respectively at cricket matches in England! And I couldn't care less...It's a free country here - isn't India?

This is for Paddy Briggs. You seem to know nothing about the situation but like a lot of Westerners feel compelled to sit in judgement with assumed superiority.

This is not about a Pakistani national flying his country's flag in India. It is about a whole bunch of Muslims who are Indian citizens flying not the Indian but the Pakistani flag. How would you like it if neo-Nazis decided to have the Nazi flags fluttering in your beloved Britain? Or if all the Muslim British citizens displayed various Islamic flags and refused to respect the Union Jack? Having spent quite some time in your country, I can assure you that the day is not far off. Then we shall see if you indulge in
" silly enmities and prejudices and name-calling ".

Is it illegal for a Pakistani to live in India? If not why should a Pakistani not be allowed to fly his country's flag outside of his residence if he wants to?

How about other nationalities. I'm a Brit. Can I fly the Union Flag outside my house in Delhi - or would tha be too colonial do you think?

Only when silly enmities and prejudices and name-calling stops is there amy hope of resolution in the sub-continent.

I am not surprised because if you watch NDTV regularly, you will know that they are anti-national.. In my view, the govt. should keep a watch on the funds and the background of the media sponsors and leading media persons as a routine.
