The attack on Mumbai with a trawler dropping off terrorists with explosives who arrive on a speed boat and land next to the Gate way of India and storm Mumbai is nothing short of a war on India.
The operations in Taj and Oberoi hotels and in another residential building in Colaba (Nariman House) are still going on and it is too early to foresee the full impact of this attack. There will be loss of life estimated at more than one hundered which includes several foreigners.
We keep our fingers crossed with the fear that the Oberoi-Trident attack may have a hostage angle. Let us not forget that the Government led by the current leaders is holding a time bomb in the name of Afzal Guru in custody after he has been sentenced to be executed. It is quite possible that his release would be one of the prestigious goals for the terrorists if not in this attack in another to follow.
What causes concern is the report that a large quantity of RDX has been carried inside the Oberoi. Who knows, the terrorists may be planning a spectacular blowing up of the skyscraper if they are not flushed out quickly.
It is unfortunate that several top Police officers have lost their life yesterday including the chief of the Anti Terrorists Squad(ATS). The chief of ATS who was killed is reported to have said a few days back that they have devoted more than 90% of thier resources on the investigations on Malegoan blasts. This was a clear indication of lack of proper priorities for the unit and the adverse effect of the dangerous political policies pursued by some in the light of the ensuing elections.
Hopefully this ghastly incident would change the policies of the politicians and we would finally see a National security plan emerging devoid of political considerations.

The battle rages on. Out of those killed 6 are said to be foreigners. Out of the hostages held at Oberoi-Trident, majority may be British and US citizens since one eye witness has told that the terrorists were asking people if they are British and US and trying to seggregate them. Terrorists are moving from floor to floor with the batch of hostages.
Security agencies are clearing floor after floor. They may intensify the attack after dark.
20 hours after it started, Taj Hotel appears to have been cleared.
Some 20 people have been rescued from Oberoi also. Many are still stuck in their respective rooms safely but under forced confinement for nearly 20 hours now.
No progress reported at Nariman Bhavan.
We await further developments. One speculation is that this is the act of the “Marine Wing of LeT”
It is reported that nearly 26 terrorists who have taken part in the action yesterday. Out of these 8 seems to have landed in a rubber boat as per an eye witness account. Others must have come by other means.
Howerver it appears that not all these 26 terrorists have been identified to be present in the above three locations. About 7 have been reportedly killed and one arrested. Some are still holed in Oberoi and Nariman House. It appears threfore that some of the remaining might have slipped into the city and may launch another attack in the next few days.
It’s time the civilized world help correct another British mistake and help India turn Pakistan into a pristine bed of brilliant glass.
Fire breaks out at Oberoi.
Just as fire at Taj has been brought under control, Oberoi broke into fire.
Gun battle is going on in all three places including Taj which appeared to have been cleared earlier.
Interception of conversations of the terrorists and the arrested person’s identity has confirmed the Pakistan involvement in the attack/war.

To update, most of the guests who had been trapped in Oberoi appear to have been rescued and brought down to safety.
Terrorists are still not secured.
It is now 24 hours since the attack began.
We hope that by day break tomorrow, the battle would be over.
The thought lingers… This may not be the last time a terror strike occurs in India…it will take some more time for terrorist risk to be brought down to acceptable levels.

It is not a “War” and it is inaccurate and misleading to describe it as such. Language has become so ill-used since the coining of the “War on Terror” by Bush’s script writers. What we are witnessing is a very serious terrorist attack - but it is not a “War”.

What CVC, CAG doing and furnish the list of projects which they adhered the statuatory requirements

I feel so sad for all this happened. I am from Pakistan and you know what price we are paying for using force against this campaign of terrorisum. Actuall we mus understand the terrorisum and the method of handeling it. We must observe the five years before 911 and 5 years after the event. The death toll by terrorist attacks and killing thru forces is many times greater than the so called terrorist have done. Its time to understand and not to become part of this arrerssion. A very few number of indiuals are taking benifits out of it not even the states are the benifisries. So we all must support dialog and peace not war and terrorisum.
