How well I loved him only at the age of 20 in 1969. I can still hear him sing Amaryllis. Although my recording scratched and the sound from the stereo was mono, even a bit screechingly thin, he filled me up, inspired me to the glorious if also ruinous passions that were the earmarks of my youth.
