I understand Bumrungrad Hospitals are building a new hospital in Manila. Bumrungrad is the only US certified hospital in South East Asia. Expats from all around the area go there for health care. Service is top-notch and inexpensive

The philippines has been a bit behind in promoting medical tourism, with India and Thailand leading the way. But not The Philippines is actively promoting it.

There is a wealth of highly trained healthcare providers, many of them having worked overseas in western hospitals. So the Philippines could easily be at the forefront.

How does one go about finding a doctor trained in the US but practicing int he Philippines. Any suggestions?

I am an expat here and have several medical issues and it seems I have to go into the hospital to run what would be normal office visit test here. I'm in Cebu and go to Cebu City for treatment, hope you can help. I've considered going to Manila but don't really have the funds for that.

Your US medical plan has doctors on their list here? Awesome, mine pays but uses their non-ppo schedules to do so. If I go into the hospital, I have a $100 per day deductible and that is not nice. The whole thing could cost less than that. :)

Thanks!
