Holt, who has been on the Board for four years, was protesting the hiring process for the new chief. Outgoing Mayor Alan Lowe confirmed today that former Vancouver Chief Jamie Graham is being considered for the job of Victoria Police Chief. "I am not commenting on the candidate, but there is public concern about both the process, this board and the candidate", Holt told the media. Holt believes the Board should respect the voters' choice of mayors in last Saturday's election and postpone the selection of a new chief until the new board chair, Victoria mayor elect Dean Fortin, and vice chair, Esquimalt mayor-elect Barb Desjardins, take office next month.
