Jen,

Only one person said "he counts for nothing" so it's not "people". I didn't say it but anyone can pretty much come to the same conclusion.

Isn't it interesting that people say "He counts for nothing?" I mean, if he really DID, you wouldn't have to say so, would you?

It’s curious but I had also be mulling over the subject that John Ray vents his spiel on in this article – but I have come to a totally different conclusion! Those of us who argue about politics from a liberal position very rarely express “hatred” for anything. I certainly don’t. I don’t hate Dubya and his band of NeoCon commandoes. I despise their politics, their privilege and the damage they have done to the world – but I don’t personalise this into hatred. I read plenty of arguments from those like me who want to unravel some of the injustices in the world (the next President of the United States is one such). But hatred gets you nowhere and it burns you up. Passion and logic beat hatred any time.

Whilst the liberal position is usually calm the conservative position is far from that. And there are some very nasty things going on in conservative minds – John Ray’s own vile positing on BNN was an example of this http://www.bloggernews.net/118275 . It wasn’t the only one.

John Ray’s nauseating scribblings are no doubt meant by him to inspire anger. As far as I am concerned he fails, but I don’t pity him either. He counts for nothing.
