Accept it and move on. People who want Utopia fail to understand that in order for Utopia to exists, there must be Utopians to live in it. Sorry to say, humans are not Utopians.

Human needs, are like liquids - they're nearly uncompressable. Thus, if you think you're going to eliminate prostitution or even reduce it by limiting a method a communication or free speech, you're mearly moving it to a place where you have even less control or knowledge of it.

If my wife is afraid that my teenage daughter is having sex with a boy, she tells her she can no longer see him. That doesn't solve the problem. It simply means that my daughter must lie now whenever she is going to be with her boyfriend. Thus instead of knowing where she really is in case of emergency, we don't now because she will lie and invent cover stories. Dumb move.

Same thing here. The most effective means against smoking was the advertising campaign against it, not the laws passed to stop it.

If you shut down CraigsList Erotic, you're simply moving the problem out of sight where you will lose knowledge of the size or problems it has. You're just sticking your head in the sand. Right now, if girl who is too young does show up on Criagslist, at least there is a better chance someone can find her and save her. Otherwise, it's less likely because lesser known channels are even darker.

There are 10 states where prostitution is illegal and the attorney generals didn't sign the agreement. There is one state, Rhode Island, where prostitution is legal, and the attorney general did sign the agreement. This will be interesting.

Check out"happy endings" a doc film on Asian massage parlors in RI where prostitution is legal. Check the blog and youtube channel and leave comments. Sign up on the website to get updates on the release.
