There was a lot of mixing prior to the Civil War in the South, and in the Northeast as well. In the West, mixing did not take place as much because of how Euroamerican attitudes had changed towards Natives by the time the US acquired most of the West in the Louisiana Purchase. ]]> http://www.bloggernews.net/118536#comment-747644 Bump0naPickle Sat, 08 Nov 2008 20:35:17 +0000 http://www.bloggernews.net/118536#comment-747644 My children are Navajo and they are a great ppl Denai ppl of the earth..I love there family they are the nicest ppl around they live in Arizona on the reservation..there Grandmother is head of Indian Affairs here in OR...all there Aunties and Granmas on the res..are just the most pleasant ppl to be around..and the fry bread aint that bad either...I love my childrens heritage and where there blood line decends to...And yes they have gottn the short end of the stick..for example the great walk when the white army soldiers made them walk across the US to kill them off one by one along the walk..and when the soldiers were fighting the Natives...they didnt wunt to waste bullets on the children so they used there boots to crush there skulls..my kids Aunt wus born in a time of no birth records and when the Morons..oops Mormons came to take her out of there family Hogan and put her in a white mans school they chaind her and her fellow Navajo children to a radiotor daily because they wuldnt speak english only Navajo and the Morons told them that the reason there skin wus brown wus because they were sinners...The Native Americans have come so far from those times...and the fact that they are still living and breathing is a wunderful thing considering the white soldiers tried to erradicate them from the face of the earth...
