This is one of the strangest cases I have ever seen. Caylee Marie Anthony, then 2 years old, just shy of turning 3 has been missing since mid-June but her mother Casey Anthony didn’t bother to report her missing until 31 days later and even then it was Casey’s mother, Cindy Anthony that made the famous 911 call.
Casey Anthony is being charged with first degree murder along with several other charges in the Orange County Jail without bond and her court date for the murder charges is set for January 5th. Her defense team did manage to talk a judge into postponing her check fraud trial until after the murder trial is set.
Casey has done absolutely nothing to help find her daughter that she claims has been kidnapped by the Nanny and has in fact lied time after time to authorities about events in the case leading them on wild goose chases.
The defense team working on Casey’s case has told the public that Caylee is still alive. Jose Baez, head of the team has said “We all believe she’s alive” just this Wednesday. He has stood by Casey ‘closely’ throughout all of this. Some even think a bit “too close” even. This is why this new report that has leaked out surprises the hell out of me.
Eyewitness News says that behind the scenes, the defense sent 30 pages of documents to prosecutors. The documents contain the shocking statements with Casey’s lawyers arguing that if Caylee is dead, “it was almost certainly a tragic accident.” They go on to say that Caylee could have been poisoned by chloroform or she could have died while she was sedated. They state that the cause of death could have been an unwitting overdose of a sedative.
They describe Casey of being troubled and possibly depressed. They claim her behavior had been erratic since Caylee was born and particularly in the months before little Caylee’s disappearance. They claim that Casey’s lack of emotion after Caylee disappeared is proof that Casey is not normal and could possibly be suffering from mental or emotional stress.
This was all issued as an argument that the death penalty is not an appropriate sentence in Casey’s case because she is young and she doesn’t even have a criminal record. CNN’s Nancy Grace held the document up on the air on her Show Wednesday night so all this is in writing. My question is what is wrong with this picture? Does the team think Caylee is really dead or is Jose Baez the only one on the legal team that has fallen for Casey’s lies and manipulation?
What the hell is wrong with these people? Do they really think anyone is going to buy into this story? Hell we all know Casey Anthony has problems. She is flat out crazy and sick but she knows damn well what she is doing. She plans ahead of time to cover her tracks and she is damn good at it too. The problem is too many people are seeing through her lies now. People have gotten to know how she operates and they are aware of her way of manipulating others into believing her lies. The death penalty-qualified attorney that is helping Jose Baez said he wanted Casey to be evaluated by a nationally known psychologist who was involved by the Unabomber and the Elizabeth Smart cases because he thinks Casey is mentally ill but Baez refuses to agree to it. Like I said Casey isn’t mentally ill. They probably have been planning on using that as a plan E in case their defense plans A, B, C or D fail, so it is too early to go that route.
Let’s say Casey did kill Caylee strictly by accident. We all know that accidents do happen and they can not always be prevented. Accidents that take one’s life can’t always be avoided. If this was the case, Casey would STILL be guilty of covering it up and putting everyone through a living hell trying to cover her own butt. In my book that makes her just as guilty as if she had killed the child on purpose. If it had been an accident she should have told someone and not hid it this way.
If you have an accident on the highway that caused a death, and you run away from it, that makes you look guiltier by running from it. Then you have even more charges on you besides vehicular homicide. You have leaving the scene of an accident plus who knows what other charges.
This would be the same case here but this is only looking at it from their side. Personally I think she killed Caylee by accident and when she realized what she did, she was in her own sick little mind free of the responsibility of having a daughter to have to tend to. I think this is why she did the things she did in order to celebrate her new found freedom. In her mind she was happy it turned out this way even if she didn’t intentionally do it and she thought she could get away with it. Who knows what is going through this woman’s mind.
I saw a video clip on TV where Cindy Anthony made a statement saying that she trusts her daughter and I had to laugh. I thought to myself, yeah right, about as much as the public trusts Cindy Anthony right now too. She lies as much as Casey does. Cindy lies when it is convenient for her. She lies to make sure everything goes her way.
I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes, that’s for sure. As for little Caylee, who stood up for her when she was being fed sedatives if this is what killed her? How could a 2 year old defend herself against her mother? She couldn’t unfortunately. Now little Caylee is paying for her mother’s mistakes with her life. So sad… so uncalled for… it brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
I can’t sleep at night thinking about Caylee. I have bags under my eyes because I don’t sleep. Look at Casey’s eyes. They look well rested don’t they? They surely don’t look like the eyes of a mother that hasn’t seen her daughter in almost 5 months. Now tell me if this woman deserves the ‘Mother of the Year’ Award. I think the only one that thinks that is Cindy Anthony.
Caylee I feel in my heart that you are with the angels in heaven and they are watching over you right now. The world lost you before we got to know you and we mourn you as though you were one of our own but we know you are in a better place now. God Bless you sweetheart. We love you! The world will never forget you.

Casey should die just like her defenseless daughter did at age 2! I have two daughetrs and NEVER, EVER, when they were upset, crying or sick, did we EVER think of sedating them…NEVER, EVER! We held them, rocked them, tried to sooth them anyway we could, heck, we even cried sometimes when they cried, because we knew they were upset or sick and could communicated to us what was hurting!
For Cindy and that nutty family to parade around and tell everyone what a great mother Casey was is just unexplainable! The ego these people must have! “Great” is not a term that comes to my mind right away. Padilla said it best last night on NG. He said, “George and Cindy need to do the honorable thing and get out there and assist Tim Miller in finding Caylee’s body”!
In the meantime, tell “Hose-Bag” Baez, spare us the baby photos of Casey! It will just make everyone even more angry that she killed a daughter that looked just like her! “Hose-Bag” put in writing for the court this “unwitting” overdose theory…nice try! Translation= Casey mixed up her own Chloroform to “sedate” a child while she lived the “high life” and killed her! CASEY KILLED CAYLEE!
It’s my hope that the search is a success, for Caylee’s sake! She needs to be put to rest properly! Then, that State will continue to pursue the death penalty! Caylee deserves it!
I looks like the Flordia court system will be quite busy with thanks to Casey. They have : Casey’s murder trail, the check freud case and an on-going investigation into “Hose-Bag” Baez’ touching/hugging Casey! As for what’s next…stay tuned!

Well said Dan. Couldn’t agree more. Did anyone witness “depression” or “emotional distress” after Caylee went missing?? She looked pretty HAPPY to me. The defense team is grasping at straws making that statement. NO ONE is buying that load of crap. As far as “she has no criminal record”. Well, she does. It was just never reported and taken to court. She has been stealing money from her parents and friends for a long time. She should have been made accountable for those crimes when they happened. Seems like everyone walks on eggshells around her and forgives her when she does them wrong! Sad. Shame on them. Too late now. Caylee…..I pray you are found soon. I ahve a feeling Casey threw enough fits when she was young, that Cindy and George felt, rather than work as parents and make Casey do what is right, they gave in and took the easy way out. I’ve heard too many parents state, “you know how he/she gets when upset”. Tough! Kids need to be taught respect at an early age!
They Ants now pay a terrible price for allowing Casey to dictate what SHE wanted because she throws a fit! All I can think is, poor Caylee!

The jury will take 1-3 hours tops to convict Casey with or without a body. They have significant damaging evidence against her, not including what we don’t know.

as a single mother myself, i have my bad days and good days…lately it’s been more bad days then good - you want to talk about “mental or emotional stress” related to the mommy title - take my kid for a few days and i bet your stress factor will sky-rocket form 0 to 60 in under 2.5 seconds! oh and if she should have an “accident” and end of dead…it’s ok you were under mental/emotional stress and that’s a good enough reason for the “accident” to have happened, we’ll just wash our hands of it…..i’ll just go to target with a “friends” checkbook and buy a new kid and a sports bra!

How can you call it an accident when you are sedating your child with chloroform and putting her in a trunk. She may not have intended her to die, but hell anyone could see the potential danger in this. Who knows how many times this child was drugged and left in the trunk. It breaks my heart to even think of her waking up in there and being terrified. What kind of person could even do that even without the intention to kill? God help us all.
it was not an intention to kill caylee but to silence her for a while, as it turned out momster accidentally overdosed her - I DO NOT agree with sedating children by giving them a little more cold medication from time to time for what ever reason it may be
the chloroform was only found recently on the computer, so this would lead me to believe that it was a first and last time momster did this…she may have found other was to silence her in the past
when momster couldn’t wake caylee up that is when she put caylee in the trunk, and she was in the truck for a few days so momster could come up with a plan of action

I don’t think it was any accident that Casey Anthony killed Caylee. I think this was just a matter of time and Casey was doing her “homework” in preparation (chloroform, Sawgrass Apts., etc.). Caylee was becoming more of a liability as she learned to talk more and would’ve blown Casey’s cover as to how she spent her time when she was supposed to be “at work.” Just the idea that Casey put chloroform to Caylee’s little face and put her in the trunk of a car constitutes callous indifference as to whether she survived or not. I wouldn’t even do that to an animal, let alone my own child.

Accidental would be she gave her sedatives to make her feel better and accidentally gave too much. NOT by sedating her to live it up in the bars and boyfriends’ beds getting some.
Nonetheless if it was “Accidental” then WHY has there never been remorse. The only 2 times I saw her tear up was when she knew she wouldn’t be going to Fusion that night, instead she was going to jail.

Maybe she hadnt used chloroform before, maybe she had. Even if she had…chloroform on a rag..how are you going to dose it? No way to tell how much is inhaled.
small kids dont like change,(being dragged to one place or another to sleep) my experiance when my daughter was young if she wasnt at home she would wake up at night, i think m had been drugging caylee for awhile cheap babysitter how else can you explain her sleeping all night thru a party, and being ok at diffrent houses?

I personally do not have a problem with NOT sentencing Casey to death. I suppose it depends on your belief system as to what happens to folks after death, but I for one believe in a guarantee as to adequate punishment while a person is still living and breathing, hence life in prison without parole for Casey suits me just fine.
I have been in jail myself before, of course for crimes far less heinous than what Casey is charged with, but nevertheless, I have been incarcerated. With this in mind, my ideal jail setting for Casey, albeit a fantasy jail of my own creation, would be one with very little modern-day conveniences, for Casey anyway. Of course Casey would not have access to the internet or a cell phone, but I’d take it a step further. I understand she does not like seafood, so that is what would be on the menu practically each and every day. Sure, I’ll permit her to watch TV, but she would only have access to The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon so she could watch what she claims was one of Caylee’s favorite shows, Dora The Explorer. As for what she is allowed to order…hmm…definitely no mints and she would only have access to jail issued toiletries and clothing items.
Okay, I reckon I’ve said enough, for the time being anyway. To Casey and the Anthony’s: The gig is up…time to come to the realization that the cat is out of the bag and ain’t going back in the bag! We’ve known practically from day one that you killed your child, and frankly at this point, not very many of us are interested in giving in to the claims most recently made evident in this memo “mistakenly” released by your defense regarding reasons not to sentence you to death. Yes, we are interested in this memo due to its ridiculous reasons for sparing your life, but given all the lies and deceit, you do not have many supporters in your corner when it comes to sparing you from the needle.

There we have it. They are setting up the “mental” case. They will be fighting to have her institutionalized in a hospital, not a prison. This will keep her away from the real prisoners who will take care of her their way.
easy going….I was referring to the defense saying it may have been accidental. I just dont consider it an accident when she was doing something that she had to know could result in death, or actually 2 things. drugging her and leaving her in the car. To me thats like pointing a gun at someone, pulling the trigger, then saying ooops, i didnt mean to kill them.

The more this case goes on the more I have a feeling that whatever happened to little Caylee happened right there at 4937 Hopespring Dr. and both Casey Anthony AND Cindy Anthony are involved. I keep looking for the answer to a question I repeatedly ask on blogs and to myself: Has it been said by George Anthony that he is 100% sure that when he saw little Caylee leaving with Casey at around 12:50 on 16th June 2008 that she was indeed still alive. George Anthony relayed everything else about what both Casey and Caylee were wearing and carrying that day and the exchange of words he had with Casey BUT did he actually kiss, get hugged, or speak with little Caylee.
What exactly happened on Sunday 15th June 2008 at 4937 Hopespring Drive once Cindy Anthony and Caylee Anthony returned home from their visit to the Great Grandparents in Mount Dora that day? Was it as Cindy Anthony has told LE about she and Caylee going for a swim in the pool but not Casey because the water was too cold for her OR was that the beginning of the lies and cover-up by both Casey and Cindy Anthony as to what really happened to their little Caylee.
Are both Casey and Cindy hiding the truth from George for their own selfish reasons or is the whole family in on the cover-up and ALL of them are playing everyone working their butts off in this case to find little Caylee one way or the other for the fool while at the same time literally laughing all the way to the bank.
I cannot wait to hear ALL of the evidence LE has in this case when it comes out during the Trail in the hope that we all will truly have closure about why it is that during the summer of 2008 a beautiful 2 3/4 year old little girl named Caylee Marie Anthony is nowhere to be found.

Chloroforming a child was no accident, using highly toxic and volatile substance that is banned from public use on a child, was no accident, and searching for ways to make it herself was no accident, mixing it up was no accident.

pammyliz, a few months ago I remember you questioning whether George could really remember what his granddaughter was wearing a month back as she, supposedly, left the house on June 16th. That was strange since most of us can’t remember what we ate for lunch yesterday.
Hearing the panic in Cindy’s voice during the 911 call convinced me that she loved Caylee with all her heart. But, has she since put all her beliefs in her lying daughter? I think so!

These newest statements from the defense mentioning “depression, possible mental illness” are great. First it is “we know she is alive”. Now, its “if she IS dead, then maybe it was from an overdose of sedatives”. TOO SICK! Like, everyone with a brain will now sit back and say “Ohhhh, yes, that was it, she was depressed and overdosed her child and continued on with her life , that’s much better”.
Each new statement about this case brings it more and more into the Bizzarro World! If an innocent child wasn’t murdered, it would be the comedy of the century.
Now, we are to agree that Casey is “too young” to be given the death penalty? I wonder how old a person has to be that we won’t care that she/he is given an overdose of sedatives and tossed like a piece of garbage?

yah MNT I mean i saw C loved that child, I heard it in the voice, I ahev said time and again ( with much disagreement here) lol that that woman is out of her mind and in a verys cary world of denial… she may have been a great grandmother to that baby , we don’t know we only know the victim she became.. If so they would be relying on the other not obvious symptoms of depression per DSM: IF not 1.depressed mood then it can be 2. lack of interest (in Caylee), along with any other symptoms off DSM manual: insomnia, inability to think, agitated and irritable behavior, inability to function in job or school (use pros. evidence for these)
This line of thinking would not work well with mothers on the jury but men, maybe young men, they’re taking a longshot.
I think BB had delusions of grandeur, thinking he was going to pull off a Johnny Cochran, get M aquitted and rise in the world of famed lawyers. It is BB’s fault this lingered. If he would have acknowledged he was not qualified, gotten Lemon in August who would have accepted a plea, reduced the sentance. Done and over.

Grasping at straws with this possible post-partum(?) crap, and the defense is desperate if that’s the best they can do. I agree with all the posters, that even if the intent was not to kill Caylee (I have never thought this was an accident), if a person is SO screwed up that they will chloroform their child and stick them in a trunk so they can party and sleep with a string of mediocre tail chasers, that’s not too much better from murder. I don’t think the prosecution should make any deals because Casey doesn’t deserve a deal. I do think death would be better for her than life in prison, ’cause she will have all those party free, manless, drugless years ahead of her, and how fun is THAT?

I was thinking about the “leaked” defense strategy and I think maybe it’s just Lemon doing his job - trying every way possible to save her from the death penalty. Maybe what he said is part of that legal process. (I don’t know) Like saying, “IF Caylee is dead then of course it was an accident” just so all the bases are covered. And, suggesting PPD and suggesting that her behavior for a month or two before and after wasn’t “normal.”
(Of course she wasn’t acting “normal.” We’ve been saying that for four months! LOL! But she’s not so abnormal as to be legally insane.)
Lemon seems to be throwing out different kinds of bait to see which one the fish will bite on. (not a good analogy, sorry). Or maybe just showing the prosecution that he has many different bases on which to defend her against the death penalty - to see how the prosecution reacts.
Also I was worried about C & G’s behavior after visiting M yesterday. If I saw the right video C did not seem happy to me. But G did and his comments scared me. So either M told them something that made them feel more optimistic OR BB or Lemon told them to visit M because it really looked bad that they hadn’t and they (G) were putting on an act afterward.
It’s also possible that the prosecution quietly offered one more chance to ‘fess up and tell where baby is before the search. Maybe lawyers told C & G to go encourage her to do that. Probably not. And if M ever told the truth I’d all out of my chair - but I’d be grateful for it.
I have only posted on a blog once before and it was in respect to this case. Thus be warned this may not be a great post, but I have had a theory about this case since the beginning, but it has never come up in anything I read.
Ok, here is goes:
We all know that Casey brought Caylee to a party and none of her friends liked it. Casey wanted everyone to like everything she did and was a chameleon of sorts.
Dante lived at the Sawgrass Apartments, where she said Nanny lived. The apartment Nanny supposedly lived in was vacant and just down the hall from Dante’s apartment. Dante was the person who supposedly could get Xanax.
Casey wanted to go to a party or hang out at Dante’s and didn’t want her friends to look down on her for bringing Caylee. She got Xanax from Dante, drugged Caylee and left her in the vacant apartment down the hall from Dante’s apartment.
It probably worked well and the idea of sedating her grew from there.
I really don’t believe she ever put a “live” Caylee in her trunk, but rather used the vacant apartment as “the Nanny”.
I feel that the chloroform is what killed her and I feel it was probably the first time she used the chloroform.
My guess is that she wanted to sedate Caylee and go out partying, but maybe she was not able to get a hold of Dante for a few days.
She was going stir crazy and couldn’t wait any longer so she researched and then used chloroform, left Caylee at the Nanny (empty apartment), but the rag with the chloroform in the trunk of her car, and partied it up at Fusion with Tony. In the morning when Tony went to school, she went to get Caylee at the Nanny (empty apartment) and found that she had died. (Perhaps of the chloroform or perhaps she woke up and had an accident, we will never know)
She couldn’t leave her deceased in the empty apartment, so she carried her out and put her in the trunk until she could come up with a plan.
Well, there you have it. Please tell me what you all think.

Lawyers come forward when they think they can drum up business from the publicity they get during a high profile case. The Anthony’s had just filed bankruptcy not long ago so they had no money to hire an attorney on their own. M would have had to take a court appointed attorney if Baez did not step forward and offer his services pro bono. In other words… beggars can’t be choosers.
With all the lies that M told and her devious actions, I don’t think there is a lawyer in the world who could have protected her from herself and her evil ways.
I am a death penalty supporter. But, if FL doesn’t want to kill this murderer, then I will be satisfied with life imprisonment. NOT in a prison mental hospital and NOT in segregated prison area. I want this person to be in the general population to live out the next (maybe 60?) years in fear for her own safety and life. If there is no chance at all for parole, I think knowing she can’t do “her thing” for the rest of her life is fine with me. I doubt that other prisoners will be swayed by her crying tantrums and “poor me” complaints.
Another thought.. does anyone know if Baez is married? With this “closeness” to his “too young for death” client, I wonder if a jailhouse wedding can be in the future? Haha!
If she is put to death, her lala parents will turn her into some sort of martyr and we will NEVER be rid of this family!

One of my greatest fears is that even if there is enough evidence for a jury to convict her that there will be room for a little doubt that C will work for the rest of her life - like you said, Elaine, making M into some kind of martyr.
C has already started - saying that M would go to jail for life to protect Caylee (excuse me while I gag).
I want C to be shut up permanently - no room for debate. But she’s crazy enough at this point that if someone showed her the perfectly preserved body she’d say the CIA gave another child plastic surgery so she’d look like Caylee! I’m not kidding. I think C is that far around the bend.

The chloroform may have been a more recent tool that Casey used but I think she was knocking her out with something for quite awhile. Her friends said that Caylee would sleep on the couch in the middle of an adult party that Casey attended. No two year old I have ever known would do that without waking up or fussing because of all the noise and strangers.

I’m not so sure that would have happened back then since M is the one who has to agree to a plea bargain. As the psychotherapist on Nancy Grace once stated, M would not admit to killing Caylee unless there was something in it for her. At that time M was still under the impression that if she stuck to her lie she would get away with it as she always did with her parents. Now that she is backed into a corner and may get the death penalty there is something in it for her to change her story. So, only now is M possibly ready to save her own life by agreeing to a plea deal.

I’m probably the oddball here (what’s new? :)) but it really doesn’t matter to me how she killed Caylee - intentional, accident, even gunshot (to go to a fantastic unreal extreme). She did it. That’s enough for me.

I’ve seen enough of M before and after Caylee’s “disappearance” to know that M is responsible. And personally I think she’s responsible enough to get the death penalty - but life would suit me too as long as she could not get out before her child bearing years were over.

Elaine, to add to what MMT said about how M found Baez. We’re not exactly sure how but came up with a couple of possibilities. I had read that M asked her fellow inmates when she was first jailed and they told her about him. And someone else learned that M knows Baez’s daughter who is about M’s age (is her name Christine does anyone remember?)
And I agree that - no matter how they got together originally - BB (Baez) thought this was his meal ticket to the big time and unfortunately has proven he needs to stick to pro bono speeding tickets and DUIs (for really desperate clients!)

If defense tries to put PPD as rationale, all prosecution has to do is bring on the forensic psychological testing that was done M last summer. Likely a psychologist/psychiatrist would say, although M might fit the profile of PPD, it would be a secondary diagnosis. Psychological test results will confirm anti-social personaility disorder (sociopath)as the primary diagnosis and will clarify for jurors that M is lacking a conscience and is not safe on our streets.

I re-read my 10:37 post and realized that I may have sounded callous or uncaring about how little Caylee died. I’m not at all. It matters very much. I just have a very hard time thinking about that part of it, envisioning her suffering or unconscious and taking her last breath. Yikes I’ve got tears in my eyes now! I can’t do it. It makes me sick. So for my own sanity I skip over that - for now in the context of this blog. I just wanted to clear that up so you all don’t think I’m hard-hearted.
I’m SO soft-hearted that, for example, I send money to the Humane Society anonymously so they won’t send me their magazines with the photos of tortured and neglected animals on the front! I can’t stand it!

I keep thinking about the missing hiker in Georgia that was murdered last January. Drifter Hilton being confronted with evidence, defense got him to pled guilty with death penalty taken off the table, got him to lead LE to her body and was sentanced on his way to prison all within 8 weeks. Yet he has no conscience and is a serial killer who killed others mercilessly. If he can acknowledge the truth, M can too, I am assuming it will be the lawyer’s job to help them crack. Not that they will respond out of remorse, nor because it is the right thing to do but because they’re brought to understand the threat of death penalty. I imagine defense team would not ask her to tell the story, rather they’ll say we’ll tell it for you, you just give us a nod. She’ll nod then smirk. like she said in the Universal interview “i’ve run out of options here”.

Hi to you pammlyz….don’t you all wish this case would move on. It is getting more and more bizzare with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. I am truly obsessed with the case and my housecleaning chores have gone to hell. I live in the mountains of New Mexico and it snowed here this am. and I am bundled up in my fleecy pajamas and slippers huddled by the computer. I breed and race greyhounds for a living so I am not always able to be on, but I do a fine job of catching up later, waking up bleary eyed the next day to do it again. It seems that G & C visited M this morning, with crazy G saying there was good news to reporters, but not specifiying. What could this mean?….Like I said I am obsessed!!!

Easy going mom, I had to smile at what you said about us reading words without a face behind it to interpret the emotions of that person. It is so true! We type with expression but forget about the person who is going to read our words and translate the meaning.
We had the exact same problem at work with emails and everybody was getting hurt feelings or angry, it was a mess. So, we decided to add a happy face
to our email in order for the reader to interpret our attitude.
We didn’t want messages to come across as critical, when it was not meant to be read that way. Now we have so many happy faces that employees are starting to get suspicious of the real meaning of a happy face. I guess we can’t win for losing. LOL
Thanks for reminding us, in a gentle way, how easily words can be misunderstood when you are not seeing a face behind the words.

Wow, lots of great posts today. Paddy’s theory was that she sedated Caylee with the Chloroform (perhaps while she was going to Blockbusters) and left her in the trunk with the rag. The idiot then discovered that the chloroform had saturated the air and killed her daughter. Having developed quite the ego for getting away with everything but murder all her life, she was not about to call the police and say “I accidentally overdosed my daughter and killed her, oops”.
I remember an old movie where they measured chloroform dosage by how many drops they put on the rag I think.

This “lawyerese” language is baffling to me.
I suppose they would not be allowed to put that forward without M’s consent. But why say “almost certainly a tragic accident.” Why not say “a tragic accident.” The phrase “almost certainly” makes me think the door is still open to “M meant to kill her!”
Also either they’re calling chloroform a sedative or they’re leaving open the possibility that it was another kind of drug (sedative) that killed her.
Maybe the purpose of this is to see if the prosecution will offer another deal of some kind - if she’ll tell where the body is before the search begins.

I may have inadvertantly misled folks this morning by posting about a video I read about yesterday on this blog. Someone had included the link so I went to it. I thought it was of a recent visit C & G made to M but now it looks like that was a video from months ago!
I’ve tried to look at the recent reports on the Orlando news websites and don’t see anything about her parents visiting her this week.

I am sorry I think she intentionally killed her, it was premeditated. The reason I think that is because she was looking up missing children websites at the same time she was looking at chloroform recipes. It all adds up, okay I kill her with the chloroform I can make that from the recipe I got online, then claim she is missing, like all the children on the missing children website I looked at online. I DO NOT believe for a second that this was an accident.

If it was premeditated, I would think there would have been a quick body disposal plan, like a hole dug somewhere, a weighted duffel bag, etc. Other murders have a complete plan, like the boat Scott P bought, the lead weights, and the timing. Leaving a body to decay in a trunk says she had no idea what to do with it.

Let me say my first thought about this story is that I believe Caylee Anthony is safely in the hands of our Father and out of the hands of those schitzoids she has for a family. So nothing that is said or done will ever hurt that little girl again.
Justice must be served to people that cause harm to others and no matter what they do to killer, Cindy needs to be locked up with her. She is a pathological liar also, she is still lying about when they noticed George looking into the woods.

I’m wondering if Casey gave permission to her attorneys to tell her parents that she may go for a plea bargain. If M’s attorney told George on that Thursday, it would explain why he went to the wooded area to gaze on where he believes his granddaughter is buried. He was a former cop, regardless of Cindy’s crazy antics and G pretending to support her, he knows the truth.
P.S. I agree with Loretta, the best thing for killer is to sit on her butt withoutany attenion, ahhhhhh, I forgot she will get some in prison, some of those female guards and inmates…lololololol

Now, a WFTV viewer says she saw George Anthony at the same spot early in the evening on October 30 looking into the woods. The area is easily accessible by car, yet easy to disappear into and it’s less than four miles from where Casey Anthony and Caylee lived with Casey’s parents.

there was a woman about a month ago in Utah who also drove around with her child’s dead body in her trunk. The police stopped her for a traffic violation, and because she had drugs or was drunk, (can’t remember which) her car was impounded. The child was dead in the trunk at that time. An older child was with her in the car also who has given a statement that the mother meant to get rid of the boy–planned it.
CPS got involved and began to search for the 4yo boy and he was found at the tow yard after 2 weeks in the trunk.
Apparently some people don’t know the extent of decomposition of a human body (or don’t care) and a car trunk seems to be a good hiding place.
I think M deliberately killed Caylee and didn’t care what she did with her. I don’t think she was scared, sad, paranoid, nothing. I believe she got rid of the obstacle that was in her way of having a free single lifestyle and she merely placed her in the trunk to dispose of later. The stench probably caused her to find another place quicker than she thought she would have to.
M does not plan ahead. She doesn’t think about consequences of any action. She merely acts. No thinking going on at all about what to do with a body–just get rid of the obstacle.
No thought of what Amy will do about stealing from her. Just have fun while she is gone. No thought about stealing from Grandpa–just take what’s there and spend it. No thought about leading LE to Universal to a non-existent job—just get in the car and get out, argue with the guard, and walk down the hall toward a non-existent office.

Very good points, Gum! Sociopaths do not worry about consequences, there is an arrogance that they will never be caught, and M is not bright. A smart sociopath is really hard to catch and I would think would have a complete plan. I too have a problem with that part of Jan’s article calling Caylee’s death accidental if Caylee was given too much chloroform.
An accidental death is sometimes due to carelessness, unsafe child product, car accident etc. Like drowning in pool, backing car up over a child, child getting access to dangerous substance etc. All accidents that will result in a quick 911 call..
Chloroforming a small child is using a lethal weapon. Even the medical profession does not use chloroform anymore due to patient sometimes dying from it.
If a lay person is using chloroform on a small child , it will just be a matter of time before the child dies. Similar to shooting/killing a person and than saying. Oops, did not mean to kill, just was trying to do some minor damage.

Just an observation:
With M’s status in life, this is the way this case would ordinarily have gone down:
M would have been arrested on July 16th. Being that neither she nor her parents could afford to hire an attorney. (Remember, she was unemployed and her parents filed for the bankruptcy protection act not that long ago.) M would have gotten a court appointed attorney and stayed in jail until the trial date. She would have eaten what the jail served and only had a small deposit, from her parents, into her jail account. Six months down the road the trail would have taken place and it would be over.
However, because M caught the attention of the public with her OUTRAGEOUS LIES, people fell all over themselves trying to get in on the picture. She received so many more benefits by sticking with her lies. She got an attorney, who although, not the smartest in Dodge City, was able to get her out on bail not once but twice. Her attorney also found ways to get himself paid by finding networks that were willing to pay the Anthony’s hundred of thousands of dollar for pictures and stories with a free televised interview thrown in. In fact, he found people willing to invest even more money in future book and movie deals because M’s story was so filled with deceit and lies.
The money was coming in so fast that Baze could hire another higher priced attorney to add to the defense team. Money was coming in to even support a phony Caylee search fund. Now, because M is so well known, there are women who feel sorry for her so they are contributing to her jail account so that she is better off than most other inmates.
Now, my question to you is… what in the world are we, as a society, teaching our children and impressionable young adults to believe? Are we teaching them that lying pays off? It’s better to lie so that you can reap the benefits that you would not ordinarily receive by telling the truth. You be the judge!

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — New documents were released Thursday in the case against Casey Anthony that reveal what George and Cindy Anthony told investigators in the hours and days after Caylee Anthony was reported missing.
The State Attorney’s Office released 500 pages of new documents in the case Thursday and they show that George Anthony told investigators he felt something was wrong from the very beginning. The documents focus a lot on interviews George and Cindy Anthony did with sheriff’s deputies.
When sheriff’s investigators questioned Casey’s father George nine days after Caylee was reported missing,George told them he had “bad vibes” the very first day he got his car back and smelled the smell in the trunk, a smell, he said as a former law enforcement officer, he knows and would never forget.
Casey’s father George told investigators, “I don’t want to believe that I have, have raised someone and brought someone in this world that could do something to another person. I don’t want to believe that.”
George also told them, “I, I, I believe that there’s someone dead back there and I hate to say the word human.
Um, I hate to say that.”
George told them, when he opened the trunk of the car, he said to himself, “Please don’t let this be my Caylee.”
George told investigators his daughter Casey lives on the edge, that she takes things as far as she can take them and then she piles on more. He said they caught her in lies about work and money and said she’sreally good with computers.
George also told sheriff’s investigators that the very first night they found out Caylee was missing, Cindy told him, “We lost her. We lost her.” When he asked who, she said “Caylee.”
Casey spent the Tuesday through Saturday around the 4th of July with Amy Huizenga, her former best friend.
She told Amy that Caylee was at the beach with the nanny and with Cindy, but no one’s met the nanny.
Amy also told investigators that Casey made up a story that she saw Amy counting money while she was sound asleep. Amy later figured out that $400 was missing and never could find it.
Not only did Casey Anthony lie to her family, friends and investigators, George says she lied to her attorney Jose Baez. She told him she had $5,000, even though she didn’t and then she told him that he’d get the rest after she gets out of the situation.

Dear flowerchild…you should go to the pound and get another puppy, there are so many needing homes. I worked at the local pound for 6 months and I had to leave, I couldn’t take it anymore. On my first day there, I had to hold a litter of 10 puppies as they gave them the lethal injection one by one. On the avarege, each month at least 300 dogs were put down, you cannot imagine how painful that was for me. Now as for M the same death is much too easy.

Hi Gumshoe… I hope no one here took what I said in my 1:12 pm post personally. I do realize that there are many people out there who raise their children to be forthright and honest. People in this blog are in that group. We are here because we believe in honesty and justice.
In my comment, I was talking about people like Baez and the defense team and people like Kobi who can twist the truth around for money. Even Nancy Grace got on Kobi last night about “when does the truth finally play a part in all this.” Kobi is getting paid big bucks to spin the truth, I find that rather sad.
I was also talking about the children who do not get proper guidance from their parents like we provide to ours. I hate to think that in the future our children and grandchildren, who grew up to be honest, law abiding citizens will be up against people who advance and prosper due to their manipulating lies. I guess that’s why I’m such a fanatic about right and wrong. I’m not a doom and gloom person but you would never know it by reading what I wrote today huh. So, let me end by saying that I’m am a very optimistic person who wants to see our country join forces to become better than ever. There is a lot of work to be done in order to get there. (Sorry to have gotten off topic!)

As for the “confession”, I don’t think there was mention anywhere of a confession. The newest info about “possible accidental death” is more in a “if she IS dead” sort of thing. I bet lawyers rewrite their documents a million times before submitting them!
Also, I can’t remember where I heard it (on tv news I think), but C&G have not been to visit their daughter in prison since she was arrested for murder. Their side of the story is that they & Casey want to keep all eyes focussed on “finding Caylee”. The other report is that the new criminal lawyer on the case does not want them talking with Casey because they have big mouths (especially Cindy) and the defense is now trying to keep their case close to the vest. Although, with Baez still on that roster, good luck to any of those ideas. He is as much an attention hog as is Casey.
The defense team has always thought they were smarter than the normal person and has encouraged the family to insist on the fact of Caylee’s still being alive. Of course, now that they have backed themselves into a corner and a REAL criminal defense lawyer has joined them, they are letting out tidbits of “maybe she was accidentally overdosed”.
Wouldn’t it be great to be a fly on the wall when Baez and the real attorney converse? I’d love to hear Baez trying to explain away the mess he has constructed.
Those grandparents loved the child, that I don’t doubt. But, they are also culpable in her demise, since they knew their daughter. They accused her of being a bad mother, yet they didn’t go further to take that little girl from this mother. They apparently were as delusional about her then as they are right now. I’m sure George knows the truth in his heart, but Cindy is a lost cause. A mother’s love is one thing, but such lying and denying the truth is another. A mother will love her child even knowing the awful truth about him/her. But, that love should not supersede doing the right thing.
And, like others, I don’t need the gory details of this child’s murder. Even if a body is never found, her soul is in heaven, that’s what’s important. She faced a monster in her last minutes, but now is an angel. I only want to know her murderer will either be executed or spend the rest of her life behind bars.

Notice the def lawyers are saying “IF” Caylee died. They are laying out hypothetical scenarios to see which one(s) more plausible. Caylee was being drugged/babysat by Zani (xanax) for long time. When M couldn’t get anymore from her sources, she look up chloriform. Cheap and easy. When she found Caylee dead, she had to come up with a plan. M told LE she was ’scared’. I bet! She was scared of what Cindy would do/say. This is why she did not go home and had no intention of ever going home. That way, mom and tot both missing, never to be found again. Too bad Cindy kiboshed that! That is the only thing I commend Cindy for. Now, C is just a nut-job who is back-pedalling in an attempt to justify M. She can’t even get her own stories straight anymore.

Whenever I see C&G, they seem to be protective of each other, despite all the madness going on around them because of M. When a protester tried to duke it out with George, C. stepped between the two with a baseball bat. It just seems to me that even when the truth is all laid out in court and after everything is said and done, they’ll still be together. Sometimes, when I look at C.’s eyes lately, she reminds me of a person on the verge of a serious breakdown and in need of professional help.
I think C is as tough as nails. Similar to M. G is another story. Maybe LV also.I even think that the hugging of little girl at vigil was staged, may at the advise of lemon. Maybe I am wrong. I just donot trust the Ants for one bit. Especially the females.

IMO—I think a divorce is in the near future. It was already in the making recently and called off. This will be the straw. For C, it will be the end. I can’t see any level-headed person wanting to make a life with her later, either, unless she gets rich off this case, and that’s possible.
But I believe G will move on, stay in contact with Lee, and remarry.
I’m reading G’s statetment of July 24th now–he sounds like a fairly honest decent guy who loves his wife and family, but doesn’t know how to cope or live with them.
Our little princess m didnt like the sounds of the death penalty…I mean how culd the state put her the victem on death row…no other woman in the history of the US has been on death row for killing her kid due to ppd…

Bump - my parents live on a lake…(although with drought here…it’s more like a pond!!) And I found two mixed breed dogs (obviously wiener dogs…but when I showed people there pictures…they said they saw chiwawa in them to!) So I made my parents start feeding them, cuz obviously…they were abandoned…and I think somebody hurt them…it got so my mom or I (if I was visiting) could call them and they would for their meal…my parents next door neighbors waited until my parents went to FL to visit my bro…and called animal control…and trapped one of them…we finally got the people to take the other one…cuz she would hardly eat…I miss them very much…

If they try to go with the PPD and Accidental deal, this may backfire on C. She was a nurse and would have noticed signs. Therefore the question would have to be did C or G notice any signs of PPD and if so why didn’t they get her the help she needed. C told one of M’s friends to stay away because M is a sociopath. So why didn’t C get her help for that? Especially knowing this poor 2 1/2 yr old was being carted to parties and who knows what else. Why didn’t she try to take custody of Caylee sooner? No matter what, it looks real bad no matter which way the defense goes. C and G will be on the stand and will have to answer much tougher questions than the ones I just asked.

Sedating a child and an adult are two diff ball parks a childs brain isnt even fully develpd to retain and maintain the event of a sedation…when my brother was 3 he had a major surgery and he had to be put under for it and when he woke he had no memory of being sedated or the surgery he hadnt a clue why he was in the hospital..to this day he hates hospitals and hospital gowns but he still has no memory of it and hes 22 now…

Hi guys - every afternoon about this time, when I hear about the latest in the Anthony Family Circus, i feel like taking an alka seltzer.
Poor G. Sometimes I think he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. In those early interviews he wanted to be seen by LE as someone respectable, who still had the professional instincts and character of a homicide detective (if that wasn’t a promotion C had already given him from a beat cop)- someone that was too street-smart to be taken in by an obviously bogus lie.
But he also plants a lot of extraneous stories (the pool ladder, the excruciating detail of Caylee’s outfit, the multiple cars) that C may have insisted go into his testimony so that she could make sure LE was looking all over the map for other possible scenarios and overlooking the outrageusly unbelievable lies her daughter was fabricating at the speed of light.
C is, to me, a castrating bitch, that has G under her thumb for his past gambling and on-line discretions. She has all their property in her name after they reconciled. She apparently paid off M’s phony credit card debts (including the one of Gs that M allegedly forged).
She does not respect him nor did she ever insist her children did - i heard from another source that the kids used to openly make fun of him and talked about getting him a “jobs for dummies” book.
I think she enjoyed exerting the same kind of domination and control over M. She certainly thought nothing of making rude comments, however true, about M in front of her daughter’s friends, holding her “mistakes” over her head, and posting sniffy, poor-me diatribes on her own myspace page.
Cindy admitted both privately and publicly that she thought her daughter was a sociopath and more than able to harm her daughter. What has incensed us all is her unwavering ability to condemn others for noticing her hypocrisy as she lauds her child to the media. What continues to incense her is that we notice.
Jesse said that the love-hate relationship with M had become different as of late - that M had started looking at her mother as someone to emulate. I guess he was right about that!
I think C might be the loneliest one standing in all of this. She has lost or will soon lose everyone she has sought to control after this is all over and done. She helped create a monster who I don’t believe will ever show or feel remorse and will probably simply move her manipulations to another arena. C may not find it that easy to get a captive audience again.

Hey Bri - I thought she was mixing up the homemade chloroform in an bleach bottle or something. No tamper proof lids.
But it was prolly an “accident” that it spilled in the trunk…just a simple case of unintended, momentary negligence.
Poor little M, she had mixed up a bottle of chloroform because her evil, druggy, bad-influence nightclub friends had forced her to bring some of it to a party so they could all get high on fumes. And so, on the way to Zani’s house, poor little Caylee crawled out of her carseat and accidentally sneaked into the trunk and M shut the lid without thinking and just took off without seeing she really wasn’t there. It probablly spilled in the trunk and Caylee was gone before M could even realize it! Wow - BB - we see the light!

when CPS was interviewing her, she had nothing to lose by lying. It wasn’t a regular case where a parent is investigated for child neglect or abuse and the parent will cooperate to a degree hoping to have the chance to have the child returned to them.

Hi guys..Stopped in before dinner to catch up on some posts..The only way I am coping with this “ground work foundation” (B.S.) that the defence is laying is that I only hope in Gods name that the baby truly felt no pain in this. That the sedative just made her drift off to sleep. I have had many surgeries and no first hand how calm it is just to go to sleep under anesthetics, It’s not that I want to think on this thought, I have to keep thinking this thought because the “only” other thought is killing me, and I don’t know if they will find enough of the remains to determine if the baby could have died of heat prostration. Thinking that the sedative may have worn off and she woke up…this is eating me alive and I think on it and I just can’t stop crying.
This is a possibility I know that could have occurred but who now at this stage of the game would be the wiser? That monster mom is not going to tell what really occurred, and I am still consulting with some lab pathologists to see if there is a possiblility that they could figure this out at this late stage of decomposition. I don’t know if they can, I only pray it was not torturous for that beautiful child. I truly am praying that the prosecution will tell her “no deals now” she had her chance…she made LE have to “dive into the pool and get wet” (so to speak)…so now that they are wet might as well swim all the way on this. No deals! No outs! No life in prison! General population until you get the needle! This is what I hope for when I think of the ways that baby could have suffered.

She is Guilty and responsible for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that happened in that baby’s life from day one. Children are not disposable like a boyfriend, or a best friend, or a new purse. A spokesman at the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office told WESH 2 News reporter Bob Kealing on Thursday that prosecutors have not taken the death penalty off the table, because the case is still developing and they hope to find Caylee’s body.
But Randy Means of the state attorney’s office said there are doubts they have enough aggravating factors to get the death penalty at this time.

The way things are going,it wouldn’t surprise me in the least for Casey to finally tell that Caylee’s death was an accident. ( just so she would not/may not face the death penalty). How devastating it has to be for Cindy, as a nurse, to even fathom that Casey created chlorophom to sedate Caylee. Cindy knows that Caylee just didn’t go to sleep, as we all would like to believe. I am just praying for strength for George and for Cindy as they face the truth. I have maintained hard and steady that it is the unknowing that is so unmerciful. My Heather was abducted August 26, 1995 and we still don’t know where she is. After feeling the Anthony’s pain and seeing how they are dealing with this, I’m quite sure that this knowing will be beyond devastating for them. They have allowed themselves to become one of ‘us’. I’ve posted in several blogs how tough it is on a daily basis for Cindy to open a cabinet and see Caylee’s empty sippy cup. George is there and he probably has taken them all away, so Cindy cannot see. Caylee’s bed is empty. And Casey’s car smelled like ‘death’. George is protecting his family as he should and my heart breaks for them all

Welp today was interesting to say the least..the defense team made a half a~~ confession for a sociopathic woman that overdruggd her own daughter due to pdd so that she culd go and get laid…then they drug out some grainy crap pictures of her to spare her life from death row…I feel sooo draind…I was talkn to a lady at muh sons school about it today and it wus just amazing how its capturd everyone across the nation…She must be held responsible for this crime…because no where in America is it ok to drug your small child with anytype of sedatives be it out of a RX bottle or a bleach bottle…and no where in America is it ok to leave your small child in the trunk of a car sedated so that you can go and live the high life…NO WHERE it is not acceptable..then to slap us yet again in the face and claim post pardom depression….like the rest of the loser woman who have murdered there children. Its not ok nor will we as a public sit idly by and accept it…Id like to find out what we can do as a ppl with a voice and a heart to help educate and inform other “young women” so that we never ever have to endure the emotional strain and rollercoastr that this young woman has burdend us with..It may sound stoopd but I today am drained and broken…and I dont even kno these ppl..I have never met that child that I wunt to take into my arms and cherish forever..I have never met them yet they have totally turnd mine and all of our worlds upside down…There has to be something we as a group can do…
We could kidnapp her from jail, put her in the same room with all of us.. an then see what her story is!!!LOL… of course she probaby won’t be able to speak since we all want to smack that stupid grin off her face JMO..
As some of us have said b4.. regardless if it was an ‘accident’ by od’ing her and it got out of hand. I just wonder, did she think it was ok to drug her in the first place??? HMMM, don’t think so… either way, she is going to pay…and I would like to see her pay with HER life. I am not normally an aggresive person.. and b4 all of this, I wasn’t even sure I was for the death penalty, now I have no doubt in my mind. She is just pure evil
To take anothers life is soooo wrong, but to kill your own sweet baby, and not shed a tear(except for herself) it beyond my comprehension. I hope if she doesnt get the DP, the other inmates give her a taste of her own medicene…
Only two more days till we begin our search for this baby, it will be a bittersweet moment when they find her..lots of tears of happines, but more tears for the reality that she is really gone. I think it is going to be so emotional when they bring out that smal body bag carrying this precious child.
If it were not for the fact that i believe firmly that she is in the hands of our almighty Father, the image would be crushing.
Let us all pray the find her fast, and especially pray for those involved.
I know for sure I would not want to be the one who finds her..
Emotionally I do not think I could be that strong..

I just read on WESH that the state was saying there may not be enough evidence to pursue the death penalty, not enough proof of aggravating factors or something to that effect. To me, this seems like really bad timing to come out with such a statement, when the defense side is showing signs of flinching. I was wondering, do any of you all have any theories WHY the state would do this NOW of all times, when this could have been announced later, certainly after this weekend perhaps.
Didn’t C say on video just yesterday that they didn’t have a lawyer??? But yet tonight their lawyer is on NG??? She just proved that her daughter learned well from her. Time for bed , night all.

D JOnes we are at the above link…I think they did it as a ploy after the fact that her defense team has made a hypothetical confession “IF Caylee is dead she died of accidentall overdose of sedatives” now that they have that hypothetical confession I guess they dont need to press the death penalty!!

I keep thinking that this is another ploy of Casey’s to throw the people off the track. She probably was sedating her daughter for her own pleasures. I am wondering why, the night her daughter disappeared, she called her ex. Someone could have helped Casey with some part of this. Casey is guilty. No doubt in my mind. Her parents are in denial or they are trying to save their daughter because they realize by now they have lost the granddaughter. They know. I would bet money on it. Not that they were there when it happened. But when the grandmother called she did it to protect her daughter because she knew it was too late for Cayley. And they probably willingly are helping her cover it up.
