ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The case against Casey has grown so big, even the lead detective got caught up in the publicity. Eyewitness News has learned Detective Melich has been reprimanded by his bosses for blogging about the case online.

One blogger on websleuths.com claimed to be the president of the “WWYMD” fan club, meaning “What Would Yuri Melich Do?” One blogger was floored over how awesome Melich’s work was after watching the interview Melich did with Casey Anthony’s mother a couple of weeks after Casey’s arrest.

Bloggers also asked about Melich’s leg after seeing him on TV with a crutch. On September 20, he posted as “Dick Tracy Orlando” about how he had broken it in three places during training. He thanked them for their concern, writing, “Thank you for keeping Caylee on the forefront. We are all working for her.”

Even so, the Anthony family’s attorney, Mark NeJame, took issue with it and complained to the sheriff’s office. Melich’s bosses then told him to stop, concerned that his communications with bloggers would be portrayed as an endorsement of some of the other opinions they expressed against Casey.

Melich started blogging when other bloggers started complimenting him. He told bloggers he was sleuthing the web secretly looking for clues in the case. But after he saw a lot of flattering stuff about himself, he posted on websleuths.com as Dick Tracy Orlando to thank bloggers for their kind words.

nowadays you have to trick kids into eating good food, i use to do this with mine, we never had any candy or cookies in house, but it was a treat when i did buy cookies, however they were not cookies they were some type of a nutrition bar cut up…however years later she did find out while in school that my tricks weren’t working

The jury is goin to see that shes just a spoild ass person who just wantd to not have a child and so she chose to kill her kid…they are all goin to see right thru her shinanigans she can make a fool out of bb and lemon and her family can make fools out of themselves but I doubt she and her family can make fools out of the jury!!! or us for that matter they are only foolin themselves no one else in America is buyin this shit..no one..shes a killr and thats the bottom line no ifs ands or butts about it…shes a murderer who chose to kill a defenseless child just so she could have a hot night with a man..shes no different than susan smith or scott peterson we in America see this story everyday and she is no different and she will not get away with it…

as for me, been in my own court proceedings for my “naughty” teenager i have, not very happy with outcome of that! can’t believe today’s teenager laws or there lack of! but i must admit, talking about this case and hearing what all have said - legal and whatnot, i did go into court with my head held high and had a plan of action, however in the end i didn’t win

Nothing scary in here. Blogging is safe as long as you donot disclose too much personal info, that you control yourself anyway..
